lol... 😄 Make it! You can do it! 😼

Yup, there tends to be a delay at time (though not always), and I think it's because of what emote you are using in conjunction with the other commands, whether it be Mini Mode, Fly, or otherwise. I think it's just an old ass game being old is all lol. But of course, this is all speculation on my part; maybe a GM can comment on this, I don't know. 🙂 "One cannot live a positive life thinking negative thoughts." - T

Binds and Macros' That Control Controller Pets...
BjorJlen replied to BjorJlen's topic in Controller
Other than the fact that it can be used as a counter punch when one is attacked, say from a surprise ambush or enemy(s) that you didn't see until they shot at you. And to me, that is a fairly good benefit in and of itself, so I can easily live without the specific MM's Bodyguard benefit. 🙂 "Do good for goodness sake; It will come back in unexpected ways." - T -
Binds and Macros' That Control Controller Pets...
BjorJlen replied to BjorJlen's topic in Controller
Ok, update time... 🙂 After doing a lot of testing with what work's (for me), I came up with these six binds; all tied to the NumberPad keys... numpad0 "petcom_all follow defensive" decimal "petcom_all follow passive" numpad1 "petcom_all follow attack" numpad2 "petcom_all aggressive attack" numpad3 "petcom_all goto$$em point" numpadenter "petcom_all Dismiss$$em salute" As one who does not like to have that many Macros' on my toolbars as they take up space for other powers and such, I tend to use keybinds whenever possible. And as one who likes to have many options to control my pets, yet make things as simple as possible as I am disabled, I find that this is about as fast and effective as can be for me. Now all I have to do is to load up the "Pet's" keybind text file for each Controller, and I'm all set. One stop shopping as it were lol. Anywho, I hope these (and the above replies) help out anyone who wants to have a bit more control over their Controller pets... 🙂 "Chance favors the prepared mind." - T -
Binds and Macros' That Control Controller Pets...
BjorJlen replied to BjorJlen's topic in Controller
Very nice @dukedukes, thank you very much for posting that breakdown, and Macro examples. I will try these out myself, and I hope they can be of some use to others as well. I am still very curious as to what other Binds/Macros' people can come up with, even though it is a simple system. Like I mentioned, I was attempting to use the Mastermind Binds system using my keypad, as it is one of the best systems for controlling Mastermind pets (with Binds mind you), but have been failing. Maybe because Controllers have only one pet to control, instead of a Mastermind controlling up to 6 pets eventually. I don't know, but it would be interesting to see if anyone can come up with a similar (though obviously shorter) system for controlling Troller pets. I do have a question though... Can one use a Defensive stance with a Controller pet at all? Nowhere have I read that they can be, just like Mastermind pets can, but if they can be, that is an amazing benefit to Controllers I would say. If someone could please confirm this aspect, maybe even with numbers too, I am sure everyone would appreciate it. Maybe a moderator or GM can comment on this as well too. 🙂 In either case, a great beginning, and great info. Keep the creativity coming... "There is a Superhero inside all of us. Greetings good Heroes and bad Villains... 🙂 I searched the forums here, and even Google, but I could not find any information on how one "controls" Controller pets with Binds, and even Macros'. And I for one have been trying to figure it out, based on Mastermind Binds and Macros'... But no such luck as of yet I am sad to say. So has anyone come up with a set of Binds/Macros' to do such a thing? If so, could one and all post them here please? I would post this in General, but I figured I would post this here first... As with the new Issue, I believe it would be a good place to gather up said Binds/Macros' in a thread, which if good enough, maybe the Moderator(s) could pin it up top here in the Controller section. I will be continuing to try and figure this out, but any and all help would be appreciated. In fact, let's start (if possible) with Pyro's Catherine Wheel T9 pet if we can, as that is the pet I am first trying to do this with. Thanks a ton in advance you awesome community you... 🙂 "All dreams are within reach. All you have to do is keep moving towards them." - T

I guess this means that @Glacier Peak will take 5 rolls of Combat TP please. Man, you really need to lay of the Sliders a bit if you need 5 rolls to cover you... 😋 "Make it so..." - T

Actually, after a bit of work quite a while ago, I figured out a way to do exactly what you wanted @Speed Freak with just ONE Macro. This is an example of just one I actively use... /macro_image "originicon_magic" "Mystic Flight/CC/Rush" "+ $$powexec_toggleon Mystic Flight$$cce 0 CCMurderOfCrows$$powexec_toggleoff Mystic Flight$$powexec_toggleon prestige power rush$$cce 1 CCMurderOfCrows$$powexec_toggleoff prestige power rush" By pressing the Macro once, it will change my character from having no wings in the first costume slot (CC 0) in combination with the Murder of Crows emote, to the second costume slot (CC 1) that has them. Then by hitting the Macro again, it will reverse the process; IE: no wings with the Murder of Crows emote. This doesn't always work exactly though, as such changes can get a bit buggy due to lag and such, but most of the time it works perfectly. Just note that as @UltraAlt said, you have to wait a minimum of 10 seconds between costume changes for them to take effect. In addition, if Macros' aren't your thing, just change it to a bind instead. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy... 🙂 I hope this helps some... Depth is a great thing in games, I agree, so long as it is not done in the extreme of course. However, as this is a 20 year old game, there is no way that the game is going to be any better in that regard, unless it is done via RolePlaying. And while a bonus to gaining influence is also a ok idea, that is going to mean nothing for people who already have billions to their name. So yeah, all around nice ideas, and a good discussion on the matter, but in reality, adding any official weaknesses I just don't see happening (imo only) with a game this old in age and design. Sorry if this is a bummer, but as the old saying goes, "If wishes were horses, even beggars would ride". But it is great to dream, isn't it, so keep on thinking free... 🙂 "Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind." - T

While a interesting and valid viewpoint, I am not sure I totally agree with it. Specifically when you said "you look at Superheroes from comics and they have a couple of powers that some heroes use in clever ways", and then "In COH you've a massive set of powers"... While true, as far as your primary & secondary powers goes, you only really get TWO powers... which you then learn to use in "clever ways". Case in point... the Human Torch. In CoH terms, he is a Fire Blaster, and his Primary power set (Fire Blast) he is learning to use in different ways as he gains experience (hence, gaining other T2-9 powers). The same goes with a CoH characters Secondary power choice. And if one taps into Epic Power pools, then that too can just be an extension on how the Character (player) has learned to use his/her powers in new and awesome ways. Now as far as weakness' goes, you are right on that score. There are no Weakness Selection options in the game at all, but that atm is a nothing burger imo, because the game character is being played by a actual Player... And in my mind, that can be enough of a weakness sometimes for anyone (especially on PUG teams). lol But good viewpoints nonetheless... 😁 "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it." - T

Yes, I agree, it is an interesting thought experiment like I said. Which brings a question to mind. Is there a link/site anywhere that simplifies each villain group in the game, and states their goals? Like "Take over the world", "Destroy all the heroes forever", "to bring back the 'Old' gods", for examples of goals various villain groups have had throughout comic history? Such a list would certainly help in thinking of ways how, and why, these Villains will interact with such changes. Or if and when they would happen. If such goals align, then maybe such a team-up (even temporarily) could be formed; but if dramatically opposite, then maybe a new war would start? Such as with the battle between the Council & Fifth Column, which you said @Scarlet Shocker. After all, as Quark and other Ferengi quote from the Rules of Acquisition... "War is good for business (#34) & Peace is good for business (#35)." So one would think such dynamics could at least possibly change every now and then over the course of time. Of course, as such time and resources are limited, as stated above already, it's not really feasible, is it. Of course, such a change is sort of possible in a way. The example being Recluses Victory. In that PvP zone, Heroes and Villains fight to take over "Atlas Park", and whichever side "wins" (via the goals therein), it changes the entire zone to one side or another. Yes, it was basically a fight between players vs players, and not villain groups, but it shows that the old ass code is there to do such visual changes at least. But imagine if this happened via a "war" between Villain groups instead, with us players (Hero or Villain) stuck right in the middle, trying to save as many people as we can from being collateral damage as it were? That would be super cool in my mind, as during Live, playing in RV was very much fun generally speaking, until the original Dev's screwed up the balance of PvP powers (lord I still remember the outcry from the players when "Turtling" was at least partially nerfed. But again, the time and resources of our great volunteer Dev's is precious, and I am sure they have other priorities for the game, and us (as it should be). But it is a nice thought experiment, and as always, nice to dream a little dream, of... 🙂 "Have no need to Fear, UnderCow is here!" - T

Interesting post, I must say... 🙂 Personally, I am with @Scarlet Shocker; where are the Trolls in the poll? Because if they were, that is the group I would vote for. However, this brings up a idea that is sort of akin to the OP's. Instead of any one particular low level group rising in power to become a new threat, how about this instead... Have the Trolls, Hellions, Rogue Island Police, Outcast, Skulls, and even the Family (where are they in the poll too? lol), all team up under one "leader" who bands them all together, in an attempt to not only take out the heroes who have always foiled their plans, but also all the other high level villain groups (like Arachnos) that just passed them by. 😁 I have been a Comic fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and eventually in all of these Comic companies, they have had massive team-up's of Villain groups to take out the heroes. Yes, for the most part, these have been individual villains who have teamed up to take out a particular Hero (ala the Sinister six), or Super Group (like the Masters Of Evil), but in the CoH's world, where we tend to fight Villain groups more than individual Villains, this would be a very interesting addition. This could be an opportunity to introduce a new Villain, who takes it upon himself/herself to set things right. Heck, maybe this villain's "power" is the ability to boost the power of these beings under his "leadership". With those I have listed; 6 low level villain groups, it would be interesting for a 8 person hero team to head into the very first mission, and suddenly be confronted by high lvl Trolls, Hellions, and Outcasts, all being led in that mission by the Family. Heck, even have the real possibility of the Heroes losing that first encounter, so as to set the seriousness of the new story arc. And that the realization is, they could actually... WIN. Might be a interesting story arch overall; one of just pure revenge against everyone. Add in low level Villain groups on Red side (I really don't play Red side, so I don't know how many, if any, low level villain groups there are that aren't given high lvl treatment akin to the Outcasts), and who knows how good (or bad) this could be? Anyways, sorry if this idea seems a bit "out there", especially in CoH... I was just thinking outside the box as it were. Again, interesting idea OP... keep it up. 🙂 "Or maybe just have all the citizens who have been pushed around by these low level villains start kicking butt instead... that might be fun lol." - T
