In fairness, Wright's Fish and Chips in Georgia, USA won best overseas operator at the National Fish and Chip Awards this year.

Wouldn't they call it Fish and Crisps in the US?

  2. I am also a CO lifetime subscriber, which came with a big dollop of egg on my face. I really do not like that game.

I don't think it was mentioned here, but the thing I really dislike is the world design. Part of that is art style, but mostly the existance of a very immersion-breaking hub area that I suppose is there for player convenience. It's an inescapable eyesore in the city world.

Aside from that, having about seven million different currencies with no idea which are important, and a very dull levelling experience, I don't see myself going back.

  3. Might be worth noting in that specific case that the trigger zone for the door ambush in posi 1 includes the stairs in front of city hall, not just the immediate area in front of the door.

Given how easy it is to trigger, I'd suggest trying to get the team ready for a big fight as part of freeing the final hero.

  4. My advice is:

Plant your homages in late April or Early May. Any earlier and they won't take root in colder soils.

Homages will want to be in dry soil but will benefit from scattering compost or special homage feed that you can get from your local garden centre.

Make sure your homages are in a spot where they'll get plenty of sunlight. If you are planting them in a pot, then turn the pot every week or so to get a nice spread of flowers.

I hope that helps! Please send photos when they're in full bloom. ❤️

  5. If you really want depth, there is a lore bible out there somewhere. It isn't small.

I would say that the game itself is not good at delivering the lore or the stories, which I think is mostly an interface problem. The stories are definitely there, it just doesn't signpost players towards them or how they connect.

  6. Reading a lot of the feedback here, I do find myself agreeing with concerns of how this might make people percieve and behave in the game.

Perhaps it might be easier not to try and split hairs and award the bonus for a team of 5 to 8 players with all different archetypes, but not get hung up on the roles.

I wonder if 'novel team bonus' might be a more apt name, and throw in a few more bonus combinations like:

    - all the same archetype

    - all of the classic hero ATs

    - all of the classic villain ATs

    - all epic archetypes

A few more categories could increase the chance of players walking into a qualifying team without planning it.

  7. Page 7 would never have happened without these threads spurring the devs on.

It was literally all developed after Eldriyth's first post of this nature. True story.

  8. Just to inject some expectations into the thread: both nerfs and buffs have and will happen.

Shifting all powers upward to meet the highest performing sets isn't an especially realistic development target, since it means moving dozens of sets upwards instead of one set downward. It also negates any sense of adversity in the game.

By the same logic, moving all sets downwards to meet the lowest performers isn't reasonable either, so those sets will be buffed. Lagging behind and, as you said, spending minutes on a single minion is nobody's fun.

Except for regen. That set is on a mission to find nerf bedrock and we aint gonna stop it now.

One asked why one would need number 1 (gender changer). Because it was fun. It was offered live as part of the "mad" science pack. It allowed one to change the gender anywhere in the game, in this case by drinking a potion as the change action, and the special effects did their thing and viola! you swapped genders on your character. The beauty of it was the COH program did all the work and replicated your character exactly as created, only in another gender form. No painstaking creating another character & having to subtly alter the name. No logging in & out from both characters. This feature did all the work and your character had the same name & costume. If you logged out in the alternate gender, you came back as the original one when you logged back in with that character. It was fun.

I don't remember an emote ever doing this, but I may be wrong. As others have suggested, by going to an icon surgeon you can set an alternative costume to a different body type. This way you can have one male and one female bodied costume, and then use the drink formula costume change emote to swap between them.

I don't know if CoH has ever been clever enough to know how to transfer a costume to a different body on the fly.
