I was considering this for either a "Little Green Army Man" or "Small Soldiers" (from movie with Tommy Lee Jones) for a fun AR concept.  But the non persistent would break with story and I pass.

Its not to bad honestly, I bought my toon a bunch of blaster ios and the SBB ios, so he is a little OP for his level probably, so I dont constantly die.

  2. Honestly, I would prefer a bunch of floating options for the water think tank, I think the pirana head would just ae the easiest, thus most likely to actually happen. What I would REALLY like, is to have an option where there is no water in the tank, but instead a selection of small aliens/cute toys/etc in a pilot seat. so that your characters body is basically a giant mech.

  3. Can we get a slightly shrunk version of the Pirana head to fit inside the Think Tank? Honestly, I dont know how the OG devs missed that Idea. A bonus would be if it can be made not to attach at the bottom like it is a fish. Actually a rotting zombie head would probably also a good addition. Also, a Separated Floating Pumpkin head as an option for the "Floating head" would be cool too, I know its not a huge difference, but it seems like a low hanging fruit.

  4. So currently broadsword and such pull from over the shoulder, while katana draws from the hip. Is there any way to make the location the weapon is drawn from selectable? We can have weapons shown when not active now, but the location is based on their draw animation location. Personally i would like to be able to draw a rapier or such from my hip rather than over the shoulder, while my ninja might want the katana on his back.

Personally, I agree with this. Dr Q is a relic of its time back when MMOs were all about time investment and grueling tasks that put the players to sleep. Dr. Q could even get an overhaul where it follows a similar pattern to Sara Moore and Faathim. Y'know - a big boss fight at the end. The fact it ends on a kill all is hilariously horrible.

Not only that, but the OG devs thought TF's would be something SG's did over the course of like a week. Not shotgunning it all in one go like we do.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't really like the idea of an entire category of powers that only work when you are defeated.  What if they only triggered while at very low health, instead?  Alternatively, I could see an additional destiny or 2 that can do something like rez yourself or only work once you are defeated...

Well, I figure it helps against power creep somewhat. You don't gain a whole lot from it yourself, but you can help your team. Also, it would help you clear the spawn that killed you or for those times that you die and the mob that got you is on its last hit as well. I picked Omega slot, because its thematic with a power pick that activates upon your death. There is a slight precedent for this as well, there is a perm/temp power that makes you explode and die.

  7. So just a thought, what if the omega power was something that activates when you are defeated? They could be separated into categories. Obviously the amount of buffing/debuffing, damage etc would vary and be balanced per effect. I would also probably say, that any buffs and debuffs would be non-stacking.

    Attacks:

    -Pbaoe explosion

-attack that spreads like an electrical attack or beam rifle

    -patch attack like ignite

    Buff:

    -Non-stackable vengeance clone

    -Pbaoe heal

    Debuffs:

    -pbaoe -regen

    -pbaoe -end

    -pbaoe -dam

    -pbaoe -resistance

    Control:

    -pbaoe hold

    -pbaoe stun

    -pbaoe sleep

    -pbaoe confusion

    -reverse KB(blackhole?)

    Summon:

-upon your defeat X number of Y mobs are summoned and attack your enemies(think like rubbles or the little clockwork)

    Transform:

-upon defeat, you are transformed into X for Y seconds. You are untargetable by allies while in X form, and you cannot receive healing or buffs. (Think kamikaze warwolf)

Did not read after a bit but my 2 cents would be make trip mine stack (kind of like combat teleport) and then you can rather place them down faster till you run out of stacks or you put down your full stack (say a square of 4 of them) and need to recharge the stacks again if needed you can still put down one when the cd if back but it will only be one at a time till you stack it back up

That is actually a solid idea tbh.

I broadly agree with most of your points in the above, but I wanted to focus on this: One of the problems we saw in game was a failure by the Devs to properly complete storylines. Matt Miller one said something like "players were bored" (not a verbatim quote)  with Praetoria so they moved on before completion. But one of the biggest issues with that was the story was quite bad in parts and far too long. They could have got the whole thing down in the issues we had and then moved on but there was a move to chase the newer shiny. We see it in Praetoria/Incarnates, we also saw it with RWZ and an incomplete story there. They never properly developed the in-game memes such as the Nemesis plot; the Fans created that and it could have been a perfect story to create, and get a sense of a completely unique villain group and arch-nemesis (small n, pun intended) but instead a casual hand wave and failure to engage with the fan base.)

So you kind of make the point they tried to achieve repeatedly but got bored with it time after time and moved on which I found personally to be very disappointing in terms of Lore and game experience

I always thought MMO's should have a small division that exclusively creates new missions and minor story content. Like, you should design your mmo in such a way that you ahve a basic mission creation tool that you can just plop down an average person in front of, and they can just churn out new storylines for players to go through on a constant basis. It doesnt need to be huge stuff, but maybe one issue you have a gang war, or a smuggling ring, or they hydra are swarming out of the sewers and players have to discover why. Like, I don't know how big most MMO teams are, but I feel like 1-2 writer/mission designers should be staffed at all times for lite content like this to satiate players between big updates.

  10. Im not sure which powers they would line up with 1:1 animation time wise, but I think it would be a pretty solid idea to use the firewhip animation from demon summoning as a fire blast alternate animation. I was thinking the first two blast powers would probably sync up fairly well? Also maybe go with the melee attacks from fire manipulation.

  11. Hmmm...

More variety in where content comes from. Right now its almost like 100% talk to a contact get a mission. Maybe have it so some missions and story arcs start as a "drop" You could complicate this further by adding utility powers that make finding them easier, aka detective skills. You could add more reason to take these by making them also make finding objectives easier. For example, lets say I take "Super Senses." One aspect of this power is that it increases my odds for Mission clues to drop when I fight mobs outside of missions. These clues are crafted together to reveal a mission or story arc. Lets say i defeat a bunch of gang members, and it reveals enough clues that I put together to start a story arc to combat the flow of drugs in the city. But my "Super senses" power ALSO helps revel the location of mobs on a map, or glowies or whatever, Not every power has to be, or should be about defeating Mobs.

Maybe also, when you level up, you chose between getting a new ability, or modifying a current one? Not sure, but this would especially make sense in defenses. Instead of having like 4 defense toggles, you have 1 or 2 that you continually improve the abilities.

Mobs that do more than just stand around. Make runners summon other mobs, so being sloppy about how you fight can cause it to escalate quickly.

  12. What i personally would like, Is if you could green circle PFF, and have it activate automatically hwen you hit a certain percentage of your hit points. Inner Will from the blasters Martial Combat kinda works like this

" When pushed to your limit, you can tap into an inner reserve of power, allowing you to overcome impossible odds. When you are below half health, below half endurance, or the victim of any status effect, you may activate Inner Will. Inner Will cancels any status effects currently affecting you, increases your resistance to status effects by 100%, and increases the power of your own status effect-inducing powers. Inner Will also heals you for a moderate amount when activated."

I just leave it on auto activate and it activates when appropriate. It would be nice if PFF or an alt PFF would activate for like 30-60 seconds giving you insane def when you were at like 15% health, giving you some extra time to run, hit a green insp or use a self heal.

How about like Illusion we get Lores... OF OURSELVES!?

Thats actually a pretty solid idea... Like they are "paths not gone down" so you could have like a tank version of you, a blaster version of you, a defender version of you... It would probably have to be a basic setup with a costume swap though, as I don't know if they could customize the powers.

The reason that relatively few MM sets were developed on Live was supposedly they they required significantly more work that other kinds of powersets, so they were an uneconomic use of dev time.  Nowadays there's more driving pressure from 'a dev wants to work on this', so I'm hoping that we'll see some new sets at some point

I really love the idea of an Animus Arcana set.  They're look so great, it's a shame they're tucked away in Night Ward and don't get much use.

Did you have any thoughts on how I set it up? Technically the vorpal sword is a boss, so more like tier 2 or 3, but I liked the setup of melee minions, ranged Lts, and a boss with more variety in power. I did all four elementals as a gang war clone because it was one of the easier ways to get all of them without a selection type subpower like pistols has. I assumed that the details of the summons would be tweaked,so I figured start them out at a more reasonable level and power them up from there.

The T1s may need more attacks.  What do you foresee the MMs own attacks looking like?  Energy damage?

I am not really a numbers kinda guy? I was just worried about not making them overpowered. But yeah, energy seems most logical for the mm attacks.
