  1. I'm a new return, I guess it's been months, but it still feels new, and I've definitely run into these people. At first every group was extremely welcoming but around the time I hit 40 I ran into the WoW mindset a few times. Someone actually wanted to know what I had slotted before doing Manticore. Another required team teleport. He had some unpleasant words when I asked him if he had it, which I interpreted as "no." I've been sticking to working on alts for a while now and that's solved a lot of that problem. I get it though, it can be frustrating when you're playing a kinetic and every time you try to target through a melee player to heal them you discover their target is on the other side of the room, or when your tank skipped as much defence as they could in favour of attacks or the thermal corrupter is laughing about only having taken one skill from their support set so you'll have to heal the 3 rooms the group is somehow fighting in at the same time - not that any of that happened to me all in the same group at once, tonight. The point is, newbs will learn - if you're patient it's not a real problem, but elitists don't ever seem to change, and the bars they like to set are often ridiculous. If only they would extend their elitism to disdain for pubs and stick to their SGs for grouping.
  2. Open your contacts tab below the compass at the top of your screen. Click Ms. Liberty and she will appear as an icon on your compass and a way point on your map. You may also find other contacts in that list. Eventually, some you will be able to call directly from that tab instead of travelling to speak with them. You can also use the 'Find' contact function to locate contacts you haven't discovered yet. Some will just be listed with the option to teleport to them. Here's a few other notes: You can just strike up a conversation with many of the contacts you see. For example, head inside the building behind Ms. Liberty and you'll find contacts for each origin that will give you starter quests. You can talk to the other contacts as well - it doesn't have to be limited to your own origin. If you get tired of running around, you can check your map for AE icons starting with Kings Row (level 5+). AE is Architect Entertainment and you can peruse missions made by other players, or you can make some yourself. Once you pick one, you can talk to a contact right next to you then you the 'teleporter' to enter the 'virtual environment' and do the mission. Once you have a little experience with your character under your belt, check out the looking for group tab or channel and join a group. You'll tear through XP doing task force missions. It's been too long since I've done them so I'll leave that for someone else to explain. Good luck and have fun!
  3. I've never really played a scrapper before but I've been working on a few brute farmers and I'm tempted to give one of the weapons a shot so I thought I'd do it on a scrapper. I hear a lot of good things about Bio Armour and I'm enjoying what I've had a chance to play, but it just feels thematically or stylistically 'borked' when I design a hero with a medium or large weapon in one hand and none in the other. It's a personal opinion only. SO, long story short, as someone who hasn't yet played Bio all the way up and has never played shield, what kind of differences am I looking at by going Shield instead of Bio when paired with Axe BS or Mace?
