Thank you all!

So... I have this build. It's a tribute to my younger dog, Ellie. I'm wondering if there's anything I've missed that may make her more survivable or more damaging without trading too much off or away. I've gotten her to 50 and I'm about to start working on Incarnates, but to be honest I have no idea there. The build works well, and I guess part of the reason for posting is validation that I'm not missing anything that could push her just that much further over the top. If I could eek out any def/resist/regen without losing out on potential damage I would like that a lot. I solo quite a bit. I'd like to team up for some higher end content but nothing too stressful or sweaty. I like to Giant Monster hunt as well and organize a fair amount of leagues on Excelsior to do so. So any adjustments that could help with that would be fantastic. As it is, I can tank a Kronos all day. Sappers, as usual, are a major drag after 2 hits, so they get focused down fast. Other than that, I have not had any problems with her. Thoughts? 🙂 Thanks in advance! Project ELLIE - Fly-TP-Taunt - Brute (Savage Melee - Willpower).mbd

It would be cool if we could spawn Hamidon PI

Wait... What? I need to try this sometime soon... -
First! 🙂 Also: thank you once again for delivering a fantastic experience. I'm glad I got to be a very small part of it.

Donated! Thank you all for the efforts required to keep this game going for us.

Thank you for the feedback! I'll incorporate your points and get to respec'ing soon! To answer your question honestly: I just suck at building toons (for now) because I'm still brand new to it. I am not sure that I even plotted the powers out correctly in Mids - as in I can't be positive that I actually took Stunning Shot at 26 (instead of the now more obvious Rain of Arrows) - or that I took Hover at 28 (instead of the now more obvious Oil Slick Arrow). What I do know is that I think I skipped them because I was intimidated by them or thought that I could always pick them up later in the build and/or I saw or felt a deficiency at the time I was picking powers while playing that lead me to make a rash decision. I have since learned much more about Hover as a defensive power (it's not the worst but far from the best!) as an example. Additionally, previous to about 2 nights ago, I was running Mids in a Virtual Machine via an unlicensed copy of Windows 10 - this was clunky AF. I run Linux at home, and I was previously unable to get Mids to install via WINE - but I got it working, finally, sort of. Some of the functionality is a little broken. That said, I think in the future what I should do is plan a build ahead of time before even starting a character so that if I need to make a choice quickly I can load the build up or have it in the background already and the choices will already be made - no pressure in the moment to pick something or where to add slots, etc. etc.. People that share knowledge are sharing a form of wealth, and I appreciate it. Thank you again.

Can someone assist me with this build concept? I am still new to the game: I played on Live but not for long and not very well - I'm still in my "getting back" phase and hoping to enter the "getting good" phase soon. The pool picks that I have in mind are (primarily): hover, stealth, combat teleport, and teleport. I want to use this character for teaming / soloing (75 / 25), and I intend to run all levels of content with it. I am currently level 42 and capable of soloing radio missions (at 0/1... I know...) - damage numbers are "good" - but I'm just left wondering if there's more juice to be squeezed here. Typically I would take Hover/Fly - this time I want to be able to hover but also reposition with Combat Teleport and travel with Teleport. I already have binds set up for those, and I'm enjoying the change with this character. Overall, I am currently enjoying many facets of this character. I have one 50 and I'm kind of aware of how to fund my characters' growth, but I would like to keep things as cheap as possible while maximizing return on investment. This character is level 42 and I'm looking for guidance on where to go with it from here - respecs included. My current combat rotation looks something like: Flash Arrow - I open just about every fight with this. Disruption Arrow (directly below me, usually, so I can get a sniper shot off with Ranged Shot before the mobs are alerted). Acid Arrow / Ranged Shot (single target to take down, or a runner). Explosive Arrow Blazing Arrow / Ice arrow (if anything needs held) Aimed Shot + Snap Shot Rotation repeats from various locations depending on length of fight. I am 100% positive that there are some silly goof-ups in the build I'm going to link. I am also fairly new to Mids (am running it through WINE, some functionality seems broken) and don't fully know my way around the program yet. Please let me know about these mistakes! I approach this kind of task with very little ego and I won't be offended at all by criticisms - have at it! Let's make this a good build, together! Thank you for looking. Thank you for the insights! I really didn't fully understand that LotG tradeoff until you mentioned it, nor the Performance Enhancer: Chance for +End. I feel like every iteration helps me better understand the game and my character and so for that I am truly grateful. Dropping Assault meant I took Phalanx Fighting (I think that's the power name) and slotted that LotG there. Hasten still is no where near perma, so good call on toggling that off - more of a "time to go ham" button, I suppose. Take care, and thanks again!

So, one more set of questions on this, and then I'll call it "good"... Attached is my current build. I wanted to take Flight, so Combat Jumping was out - fun, flavor, familiarity, and ease of use for me. I tried to include 5 LotG. I am unsure if I should slot Tough the way that I have or if I should put an Endurance Reduction in there instead - not sure if the extra defense is worth the expense. I am above 45% on melee/ranged/aoe defense, and my lowest res is Psionic at 20%. Endurance net gain is at 1.94 with Tough slotted the way that it is, but it would be at 2.02 if I slotted an endurance reduction IO. Questions: Too much defense? Could I get any more resistance / do I need any more status protection and how could I get that without Combat Jumping? Follows: slotting for Tough - endurance reduction or Gladiator's Armor with the +def(all)? I want to use this for farming and for running fun stuff / helping others: both doable with this build or something like it? Would Incarnate or some other system that I still haven't even learned about help this build even further without the need to spend more (are there any other Inf gains to be had with potential swaps)? The build isn't perfect - where could I improve it if I just want something that FEELS super heroic? I find Shield Charge to be ridiculously fun. Is there any enhancement set or (whole power/pool swaps) that would fit/work better for the concept of blink-bombing mobs? Is there anything here precluding me from joining late game content beyond the build not including Combat Jumping or some other meta? Any other things I haven't considered? (e.g. Problems with playing at any level after respec/helping lower level friends? etc...) Thank you for even looking! All constructive criticism extremely welcome! Have a good one. Current state of Mid's alternatives
Phrehya replied to TG BrainFog's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
I run mids in a virtual machine. It was not working right on Wine. My only problem is my virtual machine manager doesn't support two screens, so constantly switching sucks. -
Thank you both very much for the insights.

Hi. I'm working on a Street Justice / Shield brute, and looking for advice on both the build and Mids' usage. Below is my Mids' build: I am not an expert at Mids', and I'm seeing some funky data outputs (like -966.32% Fire resistance) in the Totals window for this. I haven't even started looking at sets yet. (If anyone has any suggestions on sets to use I'd be thankful.) Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

@Shenanigunner I love this guide! I've been doing it on all of my toons. Thank you! On the topic of Pocket D, you don't have to stand in there an hour - you can get exploration badges there to be able to add to the LRTP immediately. I like getting the Big Time badge: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Pocket_D#Exploration_Badges Curiously, that wiki page doesn't mention the fact that you can stay there an hour to get the Gold VIP badge, it just mentions it in passing in a note at the bottom.
