Got a Brute thread going here. Not much substance yet but czech back intermittently as there may be updates. I'll be playing with a build in Mids tomorrow, I reckon. Used to be a fave of mine back on live servers.

Yeah, I feel ya. I'm gonna give it a go either way. I've checked this thread on my phone in bed only and haven't remembered to load it into Mids when I'm at my PC. I'll try a build tomorrow and see what the numbers I get are. I'm by no means a pro builder but I think I can muddle something decent up. Yeah, it's an older saying, for sure. Perhaps not the most sensitive now that I think of it. 😒

I feel that Ice Armor is the red-headed stepchild of +DEF. I also feel it's underappreciated and suspect I'll be taking a crack at seeing what I can do to maximize it, as a personal goal. I do take the fighting pool and will get addition IO set bonuses and perhaps -tohit and anything else I can to beef up the mitigation. The PBAoE dmg toggle, +END bar max refill, +Max HP/Heal, -Rechg/-DMG of Chilling Embrace (still damage mitigation)... IDK, I think there's a lot there that I'd like to give a chance to shine. I intend on making the very same (Psi Melee/Dark Armor/Psi Mastery) on either the Brute or Tank so I'm interested in prospective responses. Unfortunately, I have more questions than answers myself. Hopefully someone more familiar with these sets contribute. 🤞🏼

My first 50 was a Fire/Ice tank and later an Ice/Fire tank became my main on another server. I thoroughly loved him and enjoyed playing those powersets very much. I don't know how things have changed on Homecoming stats-wise, tho. I think I read fire melee got tuned down? Maybe? Idk. Your mileage my vary on HC servers with changes but again, I really enjoyed him. (Remember, Energy Absorption is +DEF, too.)
