  1. I have a Fire/Rad scrapper and brute.

I like them both but for different reasons.

Would a fire/rad stalker end up that much different than a fire/rad scrapper? I don't think it would play out that much different to say " oh wow!! this is what i was missing"

    What are your stalker thoughts?

  2. Ok and as I was the "Fire" tank on the Miss Liberty that took over tanking LR it can be done with any AT.

Now with that being said...i did not not go toe to toe with him...i was on a fire tank. I hover taunted him.

I got excited for a second. I was thinking perhaps rest could be a good mule for Synapse Shock +15% Run Speed. But if it only takes IOs, then nevermind. Makes sense though, as Preventative Medicine +Absorb would become an automatic mule

hmmm...i wonder if the preventive med proc would work as i have it in things that are not being activated and it still procs.

  4. You want DPS??

Just go Fire/Rad tollers.  Even on SO's you get 2-3 together they are the best at everything, A team of 8 will destroy anything in the game, no other AT's needed.

Nowadays any combo of any AT will do that with incarnates and IO's. So now DPS is moot.

  5. Hmmm... lets see?

Cinder Decay Fire/Rad troller...my main and badger

    Cinder B Decay Fire/Atomic Blaster

    Cinder Br Decay Fire/Rad Brute

Cinder C Decay Fire/Rad corr the evil Cinder Decay

    Cinder S Decay Fire/Rad Sent

    Cinder Sr Decay Fire/Rad Scrapper

    Cinder T Decay Fire/Rad Tank

hmmm there seems to be a trend here.

  6. So is there any tweaks I can do for this build?

Well this is the only way I know how to post this.

    Any suggestions?

  7. So I am torn between a scrapper and a brute for a Fire/Rad build.

Scrapper will do better burst dmg but the brute has better survivability.

Give me some direction...other pros or cons that I may have missed.

I have trouble playing Corruptors because I'm not always sure of what I should be doing: damage or support?  When I play Blasters, I know what to do: BLAST!  When I play Defenders, I know what to do: heal/buff/debuff/etc.

But with Corruptors, I find myself wondering: "Am I spending too much time on DPS?  Should I heal that teammate now, or wait until their health is lower?  Wait, they're dead now.  I should've healed them.  Okay, I'll focus on healing, then.  Wait, everyone's at full health now.  Okay, I'll focus on DPS again.  Wait, that boss isn't going down fast enough, I'll debuff it.  Wait, didn't I just debuff it like 10 seconds ago?  The debuff lasts 30 seconds, so I should be able to get in a couple more attacks.  What, the debuff expired already?  Dammit."  The mental effort of keeping track of both DPS and support is exhausting.

Don't get me wrong, I like playing Corruptors: they're like my 3rd or 4th favorite AT, because they're like Blasters, my #1 (Sentinels are #2).  But I don't enjoy them unless/until I decide in advance that I'll be blasting or supporting, based on team composition or mission parameters.  And then I stick to that decision for the duration, damn the consequences, or else the anxiety would overwhelm me.

pfft...my corruptor is Fire/Rad. The heal is for me not you. if you are close then you get it, but i am not going to chase you down. Like on my troller the heal is for my imps, but then i consider all my teammates my imps.

I did not take a rez but i did take veng. again not for you but for me.

I debuff for me, but you may get the side benefit, lucky for you!

  10. Ok I see all this talk about builds and such and while they look good on paper, how do they really work in the game?

    My Fire/Rad is a beast.

I have soloed all the GM's and only Jack in Irons gave me some trouble but only a bit.

I have soloed Sister Psyche TF and the Treespecs with no issues at all. The Shard TFs are a pain as you have to do all the hunts solo all over the place, and a team really helps that go faster.

Now on a team, well you just make them your pets and you just hum right along.

Kins and such can greatly boost dmg with FS but AM is more consistent and less likely to miss if the blaster goes in and nukes the group before FS goes off.

Like I said on paper there may be better builds, however in real "in game" world play my Frad will roll all them over.

    I've played Ill/Rad (Perma PA), Fire/Rad, Plant/Storm, Mind/Kin and Ill/Emp (not recommended) to 50 on Live.

Fire/Rad... the real murder bunnies of the game when grouped with others of their kind.  One is good, two are great, three of them and you start the steamroller.  Put 8 of them together and you'll never even slow down in your march through the mission... AV's are barely speed bumps, including the Patrons and Lord Recluse in the STF/MLTF.  They can be a bit squishy solo but they have fantastic damage output and good crowd control.  The downside is you live in melee range to take advantage of some of your best powers, Hotfeet and Choking Cloud.

Frads are the Tank Mage of CoX!!

  12. So on last nights hami raid I was part of the mito taunt tank team and for the 1st run all was ok.

On the 2nd run myself and some of the other tanks did not get the reward table even though my combat logs showed I did dmg to hami.

3rd run just went in and beat on hami and got the reward.

I sent in a ticket and this is the response.

    Hi Jolly Ogre,
GM Miss has replied to your support request.

    Re: Hami raid

    Hey there,

First of all, I want to let you know how sorry I am for your inconvenience - I know how frustrating it can be to work for something and not get the reward.

Unfortunately, at this time we are not rewarding any lost merits, IO's, influence/Infamy, badges, etc. I am genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. If you think this was a bug, you can post over in our forums at: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/32-bug-reports/

    Thank you,

    GM Miss

Just so you are all aware.

Went Fire/Rad/Mu. Power Sink is pure gold for a PBAoE based toon.

Probably the biggest jump in performance was, as expected, the addition of the imps. With Choking Cloud and HotFeet Running I really don't need to do much else even running at +0/2. Could probably run higher, but ST is still a bit limited so bosses, and anything that requires more than a mag 2 hold still give a bit of trouble.

Best solution to bosses I have found is, drop Bonfire to throw them up in the air, by the time they get to their feet I can usually drop Char on them a couple times in a row and be on top of them to let Choking Cloud and the imps do the rest. The debuffs are just icing on the choke, as it were.

The biggest hassle is that after lvl 35 just about every freaking mob on the planet seems to have a stun effect that drops my toggles.

Use flashfire and that will stun the bosses too. then when you jump in you just char the boss to death. be sure to put the lockdown proc in the cloud and bosses will be held too.

During my Fire/Rad event days on Freedom, we once brought three teams of Fire/Rads to a ship raid.  Plus a few miscellaneous kins.

Most of the league spent the bowl phase of the raid at Recharge Cap.
    BEFORE INCARNATES!

I remember that ...was that with TopDoc or Tribal? Either way I played the superteams with both of them. Good times. And we did all this with SO's no IO's or sets.

Cinder Decay was and is my name. Choke on it and burn was my motto!

  15. So I want a Katana/WP or WP/Kat.

    Scrapper, Brute or Tank???

For overall teaming, solo, TF, exemp, I Trials.

I don't need a build, I am just torn as to which AT... they all have their pros and cons, but which one would you play and why?

  16. Heh...i tank the ITF with my Frad.

you just have to figure out when to use the de-buff toggles and when not to.

Getting more than 1 on a team and you have perma AM. with 4 you are unstoppable....with 8 it just silly fun...STF in 30 min.... the 4 AVs in 5 min.
