Let's be real, it had a horrific early game experience.

So you had very limited power selection, terribly accuracy and no endurance to speak of. Getting around was not easy either.

For some unbelievable reason, they made a new starter zone, Praetoria, which was riddled with even more difficult content. While the content was a lot of fun and filled with story, it was a terrible way to introduce new players to the game, especially when considering how little they knew of game mechanics.

Don't forget full debt at lvl 5 and at one time on my troller i had 1 million in debt. However I could have 9 imps out weeeee! fire burn!!!!

Although, I did just notice we have a 5th Tuesday this month... so, we could visit Reunion or try for another all Tanker MSR on Excelsior?

    Thoughts/votes?

Yes and all in a Halloween costumes.

IOs exist. They're cheaper and more accessible now than ever before. Ignoring them creates the disproportionate issues we're having now with double stacked Rage and TW having momentum for way longer than it would with SOs, leaving other melee sets behind.

SO balance is just a matter of if you can clear content within an acceptable time-frame. We're past that. We have to look at IOs now. Not necessarily a fully purpled out build, but people are going to use Gaussian, that effects damage caps. They're going to use Luck of the Gambler, that's a significant recharge boost. These things can't be ignored anymore.

+0/0 is not balanced around IO sets, but inter-balance between primary/secondary pools and different ATs must take IOs into account.

If that is in fact the case then you have to do all IO sets that may be possibly slotted into the powers, not just what you "think" someone will slot.

Some may slot for recharge, some may for procs, some for dmg. YOU do not know what or how they will slot.

The ONLY way to have a fair and balance test is to just use SO's and then you still have the variations of how many of what is slotted.

  4. Umm...i have read all this and i am still not sure if all this testing was done correctly.

These tests need to have been done with just even level SO's only. No sets, no accolades, no level shift, no outside pets. That is the only way to have a equal test of powers. And I have not seen how they have slotted the powers to get the kind of results that they are reporting. Can anyone verify that this was done properly?

    the things people complain about....

If you really want to, you can still try to get everyone to click at the same time.   There's nothing stopping you from still having your challenge.

Oh I know. It's just people posting these speed runs like they are some big accomplishment, when they are not.

Sure you can do them much easier now but saying "OMG look how good I am." is not the same big deal as it use to be.

sarcasm (So you young whippersnappers git off my lawn.)

There's really nothing challenging about it. It just forces you to complete the trial with a certain amount of people.

I'll update the OP with the latest times later.

That is the challenge. Getting the members on the team to work together. That was the main focus of CoH. Coming together and working as a team.

Negative, Ghost Rider.  Since the start of Homecoming, nothing needs to be clicked at the same time.  The various mission descriptions and texts have never been updated, but I assure you that no mission, TF, SF, and Trial in the game requires multiple people to click on things now.

Well that just sucks and takes the challenge out of it.

Accept that you're squishy. Defence is fine if can get it but an active defence in Holds/Sleeps/Stuns/Fears/Confuses is a far better "defence" than merely preventing a mob from hitting you. I'd happily have 300% recharge and zero defence (though it's not realistic due to needing defence powers to slot some of that recharge into) and permanently lock down the mobs, in effect 100% defence.

AV & GMs with their purple triangles are of course one reasons to have some defence because you cannot lock them down as easily (or perhaps at all depending on Primary), this is why you have a secondary, buff yourself or debuff them and even if they are able to function on their own they cannot hit you, cannot see, do any damage when they do hit you, fire off powers (zero end), move or regenerate (again depending on secondaries).

Ambushes are a pain though... 😉

Case in point: Doing the Yin TF, the ambush after Clamour re-spawned wiped the team (4x Fire/Rad at level), on the way back to the mission we levelled to 22 (IIRC) and got two each of the Rad toggle De-buffs (Enervating Field -Res -Damage, Radiation Infection -Def -ToHit). Dealt with the ambush by pulling most of it out of the reactor room. Then after dropping debuffs onto Clamour we all went afk for thirty minutes just to prove she had zero ability to beat us... well perhaps not but she was an absolute walk over. It's probably not a great example because running such closely match characters in a team is probably not what most people enjoy and until we hit 32 and got the Imps our speed wasn't actually great.

Yeah Frads hit a different game after 32...it is like everything cons grey...lol

Some people just like to watch the world burn.

    Frads FTW.

I see all the /dark, /time talk but have yet to see it in action.

We put our builds to the live test and put it on youtube for all to see.

Let's see the /Dark's and /Time do it.

Fire/rad as a classic. Fire/time as the new power couple.

I would say that Rad is better than time. Rad has -def -tohit -res -dmg that are toggles that are AOE. same with -spd -reg -recharge, while time is single target. Rad also has the PBAoE, Team +DMG, +Recovery, +Recharge, +SPD, +Res(Disorient, Hold, Immobilize, Sleep). Also a toggle PBOE hold that stacks mag+2 so bosses will be held.

As stated before all these stack and the more you have the better you get.

I would like to pit a team of Frads against fire/time for a TF race anyday.
