  1. I'll post it over there, I just thought this might be the best place for it, not sure if the devs are keeping tabs on this thread.
  2. I think new costumes for holiday events could be a good idea. Not necessarily anything ridiculous, I'm not sure how much time the devs have to work on CoH or how incredibly janky the code base is but if there's even a slight possibility of new clothes, heads, that kind of thing.. I think that's a very good goal to work towards. Generally speaking, when it comes to projects like this I think the same approach servers like TurtleWoW have taken are the best, instead of fundamentally changing the game you create content in the spirit of the old game. You stick to the original ethos, that doesn't mean you can't have new spells, abilities, or missions, it just means that you don't turn the game in to the Ship of Theseus. If I had some kind of magic device that meant I could generate content I would probably try to add a little something for everyone, new PVE content, a little PVP (not sure if anyone does it here I'm new) some new costume pieces and something for roleplayers. I'm aware super group bases are good venues but I do miss the pubic zones we had in CO. More specifically the plethora of roleplaying locations. There's too many to name. CO right now is flatlining, it might be good to capitalize on these people by making it clear theres content for them. And yes, I know some roleplayers are weird! On the extreme off chance a curious dev in to roleplay reads this, here's some examples: CO RP spots ------ > https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=566181114
  3. Generally what makes me approach people is if they're making an effort, I'm only relatively new to RP in CoH but I've done it for years on various platforms and other MMORPGs. It's not so much that it needs to be extremely detailed just that it has properly grammar, it's structured nicely and generally they have a good grasp of English. I'm not talking University levels of writing just being (mostly) fluent in the language! The best lines I think are the one's that come natural to your character, they're their own person with their personality so you need to play off that. If your character is an antisocial type then it'll be a little harder. All you need to do is focus on your characters traits and let them naturally play out, whether that's approaching someone out of curiosity, commenting to them about something they've said or even just watching a group of people. That could be asking them questions about whether they've seen a certain individual ou're hunting (make it up if need be), asking them if they've seen a character you've written that's connected to your backstory, maybe your character is doing an investigation? Looking for his sidekick? Maybe you're eavesdropping on them for information? More than anything try not to stress out, if people are in public with their RP tag on they're fine with being approached! (most of the time) Just remember they're here to RP! When it comes to what's written in their bio that's at your descretion, if they say their character is famous you might recognize them. If their character is an infamous SG that maybe has a bad reputation and it's specified that they publically identify with them you could comment on that! You always have to react to what's in there, stick mostly to hooks unless it's something you feel they're making public, your character might know and you want to comment on it IC. There's nothing wrong with that at all! I usually work the other way around but I've had plenty of good characters in other games that came about because I spent the afternoon messing around with the character creator. What I will say is you might want to start out with a simple concept with a character that has a friendlier personality if you're struggling to be social IC, I made a sidekick that's essentially naive patriotic youth. The end result is her approaching people at random to say hello, offer help and hang out is natural because that's basically her job!
  4. New player here that's just curious! I'm not sure if it's even possible on Homecoming but would it be possible if we could get the Werewolf NPC parts? The Werewolf models in game are really cool. In fact I came across an old post on reddit which is using the head I believe and I realized we don't have these pieces on Homecoming.
  5. Oh, wow! Thank you both very much for the advice and the builds, it's given me a lot to consider I'll study them both closely! I really do appreciate the help I was quite lost before this thread.
  6. Thanks Warshades! I really appreciate the advice, that's about as concise an answer as I could ask for. I'll stop worrying and try out invuln now!
  7. Hello there! I'm a new player that's been around for about a week now, I'm trying to build a hero that suits the roleplaying theme but I can't decide between these two powers. From what I gathered it seems like late game Invuln is sturdier and Willpower is generally well rounded but falls off at later levels in higher tier content, the tl;dr is that I'm rerolling from Brute and right now (at 14) it feels energy starved as SJ/invuln. If I take invuln will be struggling until I get very expensive end game IOs? Apologies if this seems like a silly question to veterans I'd just really appreciate some advice! As a note I've already googled this, looked at different threads, found quite a few different builds (even some from 08 on gamefaqs) for each variant but I'd really appreciate some guidance from veterans!
