    3. The World Continues to Exist

Just because your character isn't going on regular outings or dates with another doesn't mean it isn't happening. One of the worst traps someone can fall into is presuming that because something never occurred on screen, it must have never occurred at all. This is, oddly enough, especially common when considering the relationship between two characters. This applies just as much to a situation where one person is rarely ever online as it does to one where someone is on other characters.

Characters most definitely interact off camera and in ways that neither players consider. I know this can be a little odd to consider, but remember that the vast majority of scenes written by roleplayers are ones that are interesting. There are aspects of existence with a platonic or romantic partner that just cannot be translated in a way that's entertaining. We mainly play out scenes that are interesting to ourselves as players. It's unlikely you're going to play out a movie night where both players are actively watching the movie alongside the characters and roleplaying out their reactions down to simple cuddling because...

Well. It's not as interesting as the movie. From our perspective at least.

Much of the interaction people have with one another tends to be incidental. Not every conversation is a "scene" and not every romantic gesture is going to be written in stone. This even applies to friendships.

I have seen situations where someone has taken a break from a game, come back, and everyone reacts to their characters as if they just went completely MIA. This is often despite the fact that the player has been available via something like Discord if something like that was relevant. While this is less of an issue for friendships, I have definitely seen situations where someone took a hiatus and their character's significant other's player just decided that meant the other's characters had dropped off the face of the earth and acted accordingly. Just, you know, without looking into it first.

We cannot exist to perpetuate our characters lives as if they were our own. This applies in every way you can imagine. If an absence becomes an issue, the players need to discuss it. While exceptions can be made for situations where a player legitimately just stops logging on and can't be contacted, you shouldn't just write in things that don't exist because of your own perception of what is happening within the story. If you have an issue with how often that character is available for roleplay, that's an OOC issue. Not an IC issue to be played out as if they were actually just vanishing from the face of the earth whenever their god puppet master has to go work a 9 to 5.

If a player has truly just gone completely MIA, is not responding to any messages, has removed themselves from spaces you share, and is just overall unavailable? Then you can start considering finding an escape plan without their input. Common courtesy cuts both ways.

This might be a crucial difference to the now very common RP servers using multilayer mods for various games, mostly known would be GTA RP and RDR2 RP servers, there nothing happens offscreen with you character, the character would just sit on there ass at home waiting for you to log in and everything happening on screen is canon, no OOC and no retcon, if you don't log in for a month your character was gone for a month there....

Uuhm where am i going with this you wonder?

With those types of RP servers being way more common nowadays than RP in MMORPGs like CoH some people might have a hard time to adjust to this style of RP, suddenly you don't have to log in to the same character every day to justify that the character is still around, that you can RP over discord, or that the characters have still a live when you don't play them.

When you encounter such RPers be to harsh on them for "RPing" wrong because they are used to another form of RP in online games.

  2. Gemmenders Yesterday, Not related to Ouroboros who keep messing with time, but member of a small team of magical girls who defend the timeline, looks at the Time Tree in there base, which for all intense an purposes looks like someone bought a cheap offbrand Ouroboros from ebay.

"that's new, did someone enter the timeline from outside? Looks like Paragon City 20... 24, Is that an Ouroboros Portal, if Ouroboros is changing established events again I will have a long week of work" she opens her magic time portal, which is visually destinct enough that Ouroboros can't sue her over that, to meet the intruder.

This is a good point.  Nobody wants to finish recruiting for a TF, have one person go "oops, we need a Controller, brb gonna switch" while 7 other people who really don't care either way about getting one extra Prism just have to sit around waiting.  But I could absolutely see it happening.

this already happens, i lead TF's a lot and i get really annoyed by this, i say "the team composition is great no need to switch" and someone at the last second would go"oh we are missing that role, we need that role" and switches.
i swear when this happens more often due to this update i will just start TFs without those people who decide to switch the moment i m about to start the TF

  5. my hadcanon ... CoH is set in the same multiverse as two major Super Hero Comic Publishers universes
an invasion of certain Super Heroes turned Zombies or a timetraveling Speedster changing the history of the Multiverse because he wants to rescue his mom is very possible

  6. yeah, so the power in question has repell not actual KB, in the context of other animations which might happen if multiple people shoot the same target it, it might look a lot like KB

allowing you to slot KB to KD in to it wouldnt be so much out of the ordinary, a lot of Repell powers allow KB enhancements with the KB to KD working like a Repell to KD.

soo yeah i agree to the motion to allow Knockback enhancements there to use KB to KD... or do what ever silly build people can come up with... Repell the enemy to the other end of the map maybe? no idea how KB enhancements really work on repell when used there except for KB to KD

  7. the most importantly is how satisfying it looks to have an army of pets go up against an army of mobs

only downside of this farming method is how you fill the AE to the brim when multiple people decide to farm like this around the same time.... the other day Everlastings Pocket D AE was filled with Demons and Robots, i might look for an other AE to use my chibis there

  8. based on what i know about Kheldians the host probably does not get converted (all the time? dwarf and nova form sugest they do at least temporary) but leaves an imprint on the Kheldian/Nictus

there was a Kheldian Story Bible on Reddit, putting all the game lore and unreleased stuff Devs said in variouse AMAs together, but it was a google doc which got deleted and i cant find anywhere else

  9. just one thought, yes the actual "Gods" are and should be Incarnates

but ever character who lived for some reason long enough and did show some inhuman abilities can have been mistaken for a god somewhere thru out history, it dosnt mean they are Gods or as strong as an Incarnate but it might have gone to there head.

imagine some guy with Wolverine like Healing Powers being alive 10k years such a character maybe truly belives they are a god even though they are nothing compared to an Incarnate.

an, character showing super powers at a time befor Pandoras Box was opened might have been considered a God to, because befor Pandoras Box was opened it was less than a one in a livetime chance to meet someone with Powers

Well, if neither are lead, I think a popup saying "Hey, this person that you have on ignore is on the team or just joined the team" and maybe with the text from the note that hopefully got put in place.

this solution would be perfect, tbh i doubt its a thing which happens often but when it happens it is a problem.

although notes you put on people are stored locally... but thats a problem on it self and i doubt the Homecoming devs cat do anything about that

  11. a pop up warning might work to.
there are already messages in the chat window for some interactions if a player is ignoring you, so the "purpose" of having people not know you are ignoring them is allready defeated

edit: alternativelly give the Leader the popup so they can decide what to do, but that will drag outsiders in some drama they dont want to be part off

  12. i dont kbow if its technically possible but it would be really helpfull if you cant join a team if someone in the Team has you on ignore and vise versa, same for leagues.

it makes working as a team really hard if people dont get each others messages and you cant even give them inspiration they need.

there is always a reason to put people on Ignore and i dont argue that but then they shouldnt be able to be in the same team.

you already cant invite people who got you on ignore if you are the leader sooo its just a small quality of life improvement upon that

Actually i have an E-Girl Villain, she live streams all her crime, even worse she has viewers vote on variouse things like what to do with hostages, how cruel or mercyfull she is with enemies or what crime she does next, it can dependend on the people i RP with go incredible dark or incredible silly and nonsensical, her fans demands can go from "kidnap cats and put them in trees" to "go on a murder spree"
