Not much to explain - they created a company as a non-profit to protect themselves and allow them to receive donations to help with the costs of running the game.
They are transparent as to the costs and what is needed to run things and are only requesting that which is needed to meet those costs.
You cannot create a company in a day - but they have taken the needed steps to get the process going.
They are not looking to make money and so are only accepting donations to cover the costs to pay for servers etc each month (hence... non-profit).
ok, but i weirdet me out a bit, thats no where close to the way you create a non-profit in my country

Homecoming Servers LLC is not currently a non-profit as it’s a multi-month process to set one up, but the eventual goal is to convert it into one (as previously mentioned, the entity was set up today)
i dont know much about US law, but for me thats not really a trustworthy move
i need further explonation

HALCYON
We have a new shard coming online soon to help balance out the load. This shard will be possibly temporary, a stop-gap solution to provide some additional room for you to help avoid the Queue debuff. This Possibly Temporary Server (see what I did there?) will be coming up…right about...now!
In the event that we decide to shut the shard down, we will give you a full seven-day notice so you have plenty of time to collect your things, pack up, and transfer your characters to another shard.
so at my time zone i have no Queue (or at least a verry short Queue) for most of the time i want to play,
are there other reasons i should switch over to Halycon?
i think the intention behind is to make up for the lost 7 years without COHBut why do we have to have +bonus on xp?

you can report a false Positve to most of the AV companies
BUT i dont think they will take care of it in the case of Tequillla because its a launcher to play COH on an unlicensed servers, that even Downloads stuff and "who knows who is behind the servers that host these files and/or the game".
I trust the guys behind Homecoming to not take over my PC and steal my data or dump illegal files on it but i dont think an AV companies trusts someone who operates in a legal grey area (at least until there is a official statement from NCsoft)

So does this mean people with this hardware can't play? I been looking for a fix and found nothing. Bummed.

Potentially unpopular opinion:
If they start accepting donations for keeping the server running, you should get exactly nothing for it. No special loot, no level bumps, no XP boosters, no costume pieces, no badges. Nothing. There should be absolutely nothing separating the people who donate their money to help keep the server going from those who cannot afford to donate.
thats why i said it should be only minor rewards, but nothing that gives you an advantage,
there is always this kind of people who wants to show of how "nice" and "generouse" they are so my idea behind the minor stuff is more like a "here is you extra stuff for donating, now shut up"

IF they are going to accept donations there should be only minor ingame rewards like badges or titles, maybe even costume parts

- Remake your originals, but progress their timeline. Just as you've changed, your characters also did.
- Reboot your original with modified concept. Think Marvel 616 vs Ultimate Marvel vs MCU
- Create a successor to your original character. Think DC One Million, Marvel 2099 or Batman Beyond
OR maybe
- create fusions of your old COH characters and characters you played in other games after the COH shut down (think DCs/Marvels Amalgam universe)
- Remake your originals, but progress their timeline. Just as you've changed, your characters also did.

you dont really need to bother about a "to low" population all the shards are even higher populatet than durring the last years of COH, i dont know if a specific server is better for EU Players but i play on Excelsior
you can get most (if not all) of the vet perks at the P2W vendor

if they going to make it possible to use old character then old characters should play on there server because its not fair for players who didnt save there characters if they are going to be on the same server

my Characters are amalgamations of my old COH characters and my newer DCUO characters

I'd hover to the top of Galaxy City and randomly invite people, teleporting them just above the largest high level mobs I could find pretty much all day for my first week of playing.

There is also an alignment changer in Pocket D called Lenny the Gull or something like that. Someone said they rolled a Widow (which IS mandatory to generate villain side) and walked in to Pocket D at level 2 and became a hero and then went and leveled in Atlas park.
yeah, ... i cant find an alignment changer in Pocket D

it would be something like Battleworld in Marvels Secret Wars (2015)
for all sides and PvP only optional,
the story there would also be something like Secret Wars because thats what i imagined happend in COH after the shut down (even befor Secret Wars was out)
