I've looked at these builds in my updated mids and I like them but for one thing.....they seem to have a bit of a lack of defense.

My old PB that I am rebuilding now was dual form, mainly operated in human form with perma light form + def cap and had dwarf form as an IO mule and as a fall back if necessary as light form combines with dwarf resistances.

But do these human form only with perma light and no defense really hold up in intense battle?

They do! They even have a better chance vs switching to dwarf because a lot of these human form builds have defense toggles. Since they're purely human, they don't have to worry about toggles dropping when shifting. The human only will lack the extra heal from dwarf and the damage bonuses from nova but will have higher defensive values with capped resistance. Human range attacks will feel a little weaker but the melee attacks are great and without all the extra slot troubles that come from having forms, you can really focus on your powers and slot a bit easier.

Ok so I made a peacebringer and want to use keybinds from peacebringer guide on this board.

    /bind g “powexectoggleon Bright Nova$$gototray 4

    /bind shift+g “powexectoggleon White Dwarf$$gototray 5$$bind f powexecname White Dwarf Sublimation”

    /bind v “powexectoggleoff Bright Nova$$powexectoggleoff White Dwarf$$gototray 1$$bind f powexecname Reform Essence”

The problem is it is transforming me but not going to tray or activating heal and have no idea why.

Update: I tried to use txt files but they didn't work either.

Just Bind F to white dwarf sublimation and reform essence.

    example:

/bind f "powexecname White Dwarf Sublimation$$powexecname Reform Essence"

because in dwarf you can't use reform essence and vice versa for sublimation only the power that is eligible will work.

You can check out my guide to see the keybinds I use. I have all the attacks all bound to the same keys. Example: /bind 3 "powexecname Solar Flare$$powexecname Bright Nova Blast$$powexecname White Dwarf Flare"

I will note that I have an MMO mouse and it makes playing the game 1000% easier and binds become much easier. Most of my characters won't need binds but it improves my PB immensely.

    Hey there,

I have a small point of curiosity.  I'm on the verge of putting my PB character back into play.  My characters tend to gather up set pieces verrrrrrry slowly.  I start with Common IOs and fill in as opportunity permits.  Any set pieces in this build that you consider to be "must-have"?  Looking it over, the closest thing to that I see is probably the Steadfast -KB piece.

    Thanks again.

    Generator

What level is your PB now? I'd probably slot the LotG 7.5% recharge IOs first since they provide a lot on their own. Plus, having more powers up faster is always a good thing. Using enhancement converters you can get these fairly easily and I don't believe they're too expensive on the AH. I started with uniques and procs (Miracle, Numina's, Panacea, Performance Shifter, Impervium Armor-Psi Res, etc... ) on my PB since most of the bonuses I needed to get would later come from sets with 5 pieces. Then I worked on cheaper sets for powers I used the most and then topped it off with purples later.

  4. From just glancing at it I like the build! I'm not home to open up the build but here are my thoughts.

Could you afford to pull one slot out of Hasten and put it into health so that Regenerative Tissue could be on all the time? Or even Reactive Defenses' Scaling Resist Damage from Combat Jumping (with shining shield slotted and LF you shouldn't need much more Resistance). Also what about slotting LF with Gladiator's Amor Res and Res/Rech, you'll get some recovery and kb proc from that and if they are attuned are good down to lvl 7 instead of 22. What are your thoughts for taking Gleaming Bolt over Glinting Eye?

  5. I usually play a character that is support or buff/debuff, usually a controller. If I try to play anything like a blaster, scrapper, tanker, brute, or stalker, I find myself missing somethig that my PB can do that none of them can. It really spoils you. So I will often take a break of the amazing PB life and play a “support” character (I say “support” because my PB really is a support toon too. Pulls agro, can heal, debuffs defense). Right now I’m doing an Earth/Storm Controller.

  6. Thanks very much for the build!

I'm primarily a MFing PB, but I couldn't play just ONE Kheldian.    :D

I count 8 toggles on this build.  Given the higher defense and resist numbers achieved with your build, I'm assuming they're on all the time during combat?  I really hate managing toggles and the need to reactivate them after having been stunned, etc...    :o

So I'm looking forward to test driving this build.  I was hoping he'd make a good AE farmer ... or at least be able to assist a main tank farmer.  ;p    You're using the MFing Dwarf powers as set mules. I noticed.  It's not viable to trick out a Dwarf-centric build solely for MF-farming?

I've seen your build! It IS a MFingPB  ;) I love it!

  7. I'm currently playing my first Kheldian, a PB.  I never got around to this AT on Live, and it's definitely a learning experience!  My primary build is a triform, mainly to get an idea of what the PB is capable of (thanks to all who have posted their builds and guides; they've been a big help!).  As the thread title says, for my alternate build I'm considering doing either a pure human, or a human/dwarf.

So my question to those with experience are as follows:

[*]What are the pros/cons of each build?

[*]How does each build play, i.e., what AT are they most similar to, or what would be the general play style?

[*]Is it possible to do an effective hybrid of both, i.e., a build that can play as a pure human, but has dwarf form available to shift roles?  Or are the power/enhancement slots too tight for this to be viable?

    1. Pros would be easier slotting for sure haha. You could build more defense since you have more room to pick and slot powers to build some defense on top of the high resistance we get. Also, depends on what you want to do in the team. More damage? More tanking and aggro management? Maybe some healing?

Cons would be loosing the natural strengths the other forms have to offer. Nova offers a big damage and +tohit buff as well as great AoE potential. Dwarf offers the extra heal, back up resistance while lvling down/LF drop, mez protection, taunt, and TP (faster travel, movement while slowed to a crawl).

    2. Human - would play like a Blapper/Scrapper, kinda what Homecoming's Sentinel AT is like, but with melee. Pretty solid set up and if you build enough defense into the build, you can take a lot of abuse. Benefit of human only is toggles can stay on. Things like Leadership pool, stealths, shields, etc. Slotting will probably be the easiest because it's a lot like other ATs.

Human/Nova - higher damage in ST and AoE, range and melee. Resistance for this build will come from light form in the later levels. Early levels you'll feel like a blaster, kinda squishy but lots of attacks and some heals. If your in human form enough, you may have a shield active for what ever enemies your facing.

Human/Dwarf - depending on which attacks you take, this may be more of a melee build with lots of heals, hp, and resistance. May feel lacking in the damage department w/o nova.

Tri-Form - My favorite build. Take the strengths from all the forms and use them together. Good at all level ranges with Nova/Dwarf in the early days and LF+Nova/Dwarf in the later levels. You have all the tools in the tool box at your disposal. This build will have the most difficult slotting though. You'd start by focusing on a stat first. High recharge for perma LF? Defense numbers so you don't get hit as much? With nova/dwarf forms, toggle powers require some binds and macros so you don't have to click a lot but can write code to get things up and running after you pop out of a form.

    3. This is totally doable. My Tri-form plays like this. I could sit in a form the whole time if I wanted to. I may have to pop out for inner light, essence boost, and LF clickies. But for the most part, you could stay in dwarf the whole time and offer some good damage in melee and if an enemy is starting to run, you can go into human/nova (depending on build) for ranged attacks. Lower levels I find my tri-form staying in one form or another longer than in the higher levels. If you use attuned enhancements you can try and keep as many set bonuses as you can when you scale down. But the pace slows down somewhat as you loose some powers and numbers.

  8.

Is there specific mission you use to farm on your PB?

Anything really. Capped res to everything so it can be fire, smashing/lethal, etc...

Lately I've been running one of those space fire farms (Story of a Big Dog (Dawg) or the Comic Con one) and if I turn xp earning off, I get about 5 mil per run. I do it without bosses so it goes faster and get more drops or I'll tend to get bored lol. Next I want to get my praetorian farms going so it's not just all AE stuff.

  9. Well i have tryed several ways to do this build and get capped defense without support core but just cant seem to do it. I really wanted to take assault for the high chance to double hit. /Sigh

I didn't have enough time on my lunch break to work on capped defense without support core. I'll see what I can come up with when I get home from work.

  10. I like the build man! I made some changes on my lunch break. I took a slot from Stamina and put in into LF and gave that 4th slot a recharge IO. I didn't want start over and it wouldn't let me slot it based on the slot levels. With LF giving you more recovery, I don't think Stamina needs more, plus you have Ageless which gives recovery. Since LF has more res now, you don't need to run any of the shields either, unless you're exemp but then you lose incarnate numbers.

I didn't do it in the build but you could probably loose the recharge from conserve energy and put it in essence boost so it's up often or for HP (because the HP boost helps a lot)

I switched some slots and gave LF more res and some set bonues from that. I switched the sets from Boxing and Radiant Strike as well as Proton Scatter and Luminous Detonation. Scatter won't kb so having it in LD makes more sense. Radiant strike is your best DPS(DPA) power so I put hecatomb in there. I took a slot from Boxing because I don't think you really need that last set bonus from kinetic and gave you the 6th hecatomb slot which gives you more psi and mez res.

With the defense you have and capped res (now 50% to psi) you could probably play around with taking the Assault double hit and carry some purple inspirations to get that extra little defense.

Let me know what you think!

  11. One of my 50s was Claire de lune, and I had built her as a human only WS and she kicked ass.

I'm think about re-spinning her as a tri-form this time around, I had a tri-form Peacebringer so I'm familiar with the binds, etc.. and the basic of constant form shifting. To be honest I mostly stopped playing the PB after I got my WS

Looking for Ward to any updates to the guide for i25, not that I can't figure it for myself but it's nice to get other perspectives.

It's funny, I forgot a lot about the game and some of the stuff I remember was removed in later issues and I forgot about it (I grabbed the bike on my corruptor last night and discover that it no longer crashes!?! Is that true for the glowie ball mode of the PB too?). This game is getting too easy :)

Gotta curb the altitis. Only one Kheldian this time :)

    Altitis for real tho

But also, LF is usable in forms (Nova tank) and the crash still happens but brings you to 50% health/end!

  12. I'm glad I'm providing some help and let's team again soon!! Maybe I'll get enough khelds together to do some TFs.

    Ask away!

    1. This thread talks about the flight speed cap. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4702.msg35929.html#msg35929

In my build I didn't slot any flight speed because I find Quantum Acceleration with either Energy Flight or Quantum Flight to be fast enough for me. If I need to go faster, I'll use White Dwarf Step or just use the mission teleporter.

    2. Back on live, I had glowing touch on my build because I like being able to do everything: attack, defense, and healing. But since we've had the game back and I was going through all my screenshots to make my character again from scratch I went through all the sets and found things I hadn't used previously and because of slotting I had to loose glowing touch. Because it becomes available at 26 I already have dwarf so I usually will play tank and taunt enemies off of my allies. If you take it, it does need some slots to provide better healing and I could see replacing it with something if you really wanted to heal allies. If I were to fit it in my build I might try swapping out solar flare (which I took in place of gleaming blast) and slotting it with another 5 slot panacea and give the extra slot to something like photon seekers for damage. With end game I usually have Rebirth Destiny incarnate which is a Wide PBAoE Heal with +regen.

    3. I'm not bothered by kb at all but it's a person preference thing really. Plus, you can sell them back to the market if you end up not needing them. Usually everything is dead pretty quick anyway. If I'm in a group I do tone it down a little and mainly stick to double nuking things (Inner light > photon seekers > dawn strike) or Bright Nova Scatter (which has no KB). Or if I'm teamed with a controller, most of the immob powers have -kb so I can blast away without worry after they cast it.

    4. Yes we can use it in all forms!! :D

    5. I use a gaming mouse which helps IMMENSELY. I have Nova bound to G and Dwarf bound to V and Light Form X. Other than that, my mouse does all the work :P There are plenty of other ways to write binds for kheldians and there are already some good examples here on the forums.

    6. This question I can address the same time as number 9. I have enough recharge in my build to make both perma with only the one recharge slot. I use inner light, hasten, and light form right when they're back from cool down. Essence boost too but I usually time it after LF so I heal from the crash.

    7. Radiant Strike is amazing. Great dps and dpa power. Incandescent does have a long recharge but it delivers good damage and a hold. But you'll only hold Lts and not bosses. I love the look of the melee powers :D

    8. My build uses Light Form so that I don't have to worry about feeling stuck in a form. Because it works in nova and dwarf, I can relax knowing my res are capped (obv not psi but I have 50% to that and lots of heals/HP). You have to pay attention for the crash or else it'll catch you by surprise. If my recharge is floored and Light Form is not coming back in time, then I can either switch to dwarf or use Quantum Flight so become untouchable for 30s.

    9. See 6 :D

    10. This definitely requires a longer answer but once you hit 50 you start gaining xp to unlock your Alpha slot. Incarnates play a little different on homecoming than they did on live. You still earn xp when you're 50. You get incarnate salvage from killing enemies and when you "level up." That's why you'll see "Veteran Level" in players info now. This is something related to Homecoming. When the game was live, it took a lot longer because a lot of the experience and salvage came from Incarnate Trials.

    11. I'm working on making a leveling guide and a budget build too. The one I posted is my final one, no expenses spared. It's a lot easier to get IOs on Homecoming than it was on live. There are tricks to playing the market (crafting or enhancement converters) but you could also farm. I farm with my PB and get about 3 mil every 6min that way. You also get more inf once you hit 50 and just running +4x8 radio missions or TFs will get you lots of money while also just having fun playing :D (farming can get boring)

I'm flattered you're inspired :D I love khelds and I'm glad others are having fun with them too!

    See you in game!!

  13. If you activate Light Form, can you switch forms? And do the bonuses follow you?

Yes! You can shift into Nova and Dwarf with Light Form active!!

Light form use to put you into a special costume (ball of Kheldian Energy) and you were stuck there for 2min. NOW, the kheldian energy surrounds you but you retain your human costume.

Tanking while in nova or extra stacks of resistance and mez protection with LF + Dwarf. Not to mention the recovery boost!

  14. Thanks for the build again! I'm also on excelsior, so we should team up some time. I had a question real quick. Can you shift in and out of light form to the other forms or once you lf are you locked into for the 2 mins? I was thinking of if I had to pull aggro but couldn't go dwarf what would I do type situations.

    Thanks

Totally! I love teaming up for anything big or small!

Back in the day, Light form was an actual form. You would lose your human body and become a glowing ball of kheldian energy and you couldn’t go into any other forms and the crash was much different (you can still get the look of the old LF by power customization in Costume Creator). Now, LF is usable in all forms and the crash takes half your health and end. So now, you can tank in nova form but still go into dwarf to taunt. LF resists will stack with dwarf as well. Including the mez protection/resistence. So if you get held in LF by a boss you can go into dwarf and keep smashing until the effect wears off. Or if you get debuffed and lose some resistence, popping into dwarf gives you some back. That’s why I like all the forms because they work well together.
