  1. Thanks for all the info and experiences with the set. Looks like it's settled, the general consensus is Gloom is the way to go, in this particular instance. Appreciate the help!
  2. Isn't Grounded from Elec a liability in PVP? Or am I interpreting the consequences incorrectly?
  3. Energy. Already have a heal and endurance management covered.
  4. This is my first sentinel and I'm having a very difficult time fitting in the powers I want to for my build, this AT seems to have a need for more primary/secondary powers than other AT's. I've already settled on skipping the Cone (Umbral Torrent) which hurts, but I still need to drop one more power and it has to be either Gloom or Life Drain. Gloom gives access to opportunity which is nice but unnecessary, and Life Drain gives a small heal which again is unnecessary. Gloom is a DoT and Life Drain is frontloaded, and they have very similar damage numbers and recharge according to pines. I can't keep both no matter how I figure it, so this is a must-choose (I have enough recharge planned that one of them would be useless anyway and wouldn't fit into an attack chain). Anyone with experience in this powerset on Sentinels have an opinion? I'd like to finish up my build but as it stands this is a roadblock.
  5. Thanks for the response! I just can't put endmods into Gamma Boost. I'm level 38 currently and using one of the most endurance-heavy primaries there are (stone melee) and my end bar doesn't move unless I've been chain attacking for a minute straight, and then it's topped off by radiation therapy or particle shielding, whichever happens to be up if necessary. Rad is really good for end. Also, my Alpha will be endmod so that's going there anyhow! With the Hami there will be an SO-worth added to both Beta Decay debuffs, as well as an endredux, which is as good as three slotting it. I think you're right, meltdown just can't make the cut! I'm not sure I'm using Ground Zero properly compared to your use. I use it as AoE damage that can top people off, but if I were a tank I think my mindset would probably be different. I'll put more thought into it, it is one of the very interesting and different powers so is worth taking a second look at for its secondary attributes. I've taken your advice and dialed back the Particle Shielding slotting a little, down to four instead of six, that gets me where I need to be and frees up two very needed slots. That's a big help!
  6. I'm working on a particularly slot-hungry build and I am not sure about some of the powers Rad Armor has to offer. This is strictly speaking for endgame builds, I'm not asking about pre-set bonus builds that need more help with things like endurance and accuracy. In spite of that, I'm mostly in need of basic enhancement value advice rather than what set goes where. So here's what I know and what I don't know: Alpha Barrier: This needs maximum resist slotting and the remainder goes into endredux and/or globals. Don't need help on this one. Gamma Bost: This takes Heal and Endmod, but I'm not sure I'll need the endmod aspect beyond the unenhanced value. Is the heal/regen worth slotting or is it superfluous? If it is important to slot heals here, what's the minimum to get by on? Is it okay to just leave this power at one slot and stick something like miracle+rec in it? Proton Armor: Same as Alpha Barrier, resist slotting, endredux and globals. Don't need help on this one. Fallout Shelter: Same as Alpha Barrier, resist slotting, endredux and globals. Don't need help on this one. Radiation Therapy: This is another power I'm uncertain of. I am inclined to just put two Touch of the Nictus here with Acc/Heal/Rech priority, but does this need more and varied slots? This feels in play a lot like the Dark Armor heal and doesn't require a lot of help to get strong returns on. What do you think? More than two slots necessary? Beta Decay: This just needs one Hami Enzyme Exposure for saving slots, don't think I need help on this one but if you've got a better idea on it speak up please, I'll take any advice! Particle Shielding: I like this power a lot and I am inclined to six slot it with Preventive Medicine, is that sub-optimal? I feel like this power covers up any defensive/resist gap easily and is probably worth the slots. Ground Zero: I like this power a lot, but every time I go to slot it I want to shove it full of a damage set like Oblit or Armageddon or whatever gets the recharge and damage up to maximum levels. Am I using this wrong? Should I be slotting heals in it or something? Meltdown: Is this skippable on a brute? I am inclined to skip it, as I don't need the resists and since it can't be perma'd the damage bonus doesn't seem like enough to go on. Do you take this power? Any advice is appreciated. If I can go ahead with the slotting I mentioned for each power let me know, and please tell me where I've made mistakes!
  7. From my time playing... Time, I've found the controls to be the least useful part of the set. It has a nice PBAoE (End of Time) that adds well into an AoE attack chain, Temporal Healing is good like many of the sustain powers, Future Pain is a worthwhile melee attack, and Time Lord is a great recharge buff. The single target hold (Time Stop) is fine for stacking with other holds (or with your epic pool hold if it has one). Generally the rest is kind of skippable unless you're really trying to be controllerish. I would suggest this powerset if you want to focus on your primary more or want to dip into a lot of pool powers, or you really want to focus hard on recharge. Atomic is very strong. Positron Cell is also a fine hold for stacking. Beta Decay is useful especially if you are an up-close kind of blaster, but if you aren't you can just leave it on for a recharge boost, you don't have to have anything in range to get the first 10% or so, and I would say if you are playing atomic it is a must pick, and in teams I do not notice any taunt effect, but you don't want to jump in first just like usual. Metabolic Acceleration is probably one of the best sustain powers as it has some (admittedly soft) mez protect. Atom Smasher is a comparable PBAoE to the /Time one and fits well in any AoE chain (better with Beta Decay!). Positronic Fist is very good, think Total Focus. The rest is skippable. Those are my experiences with them, hope it helps.
  8. While leveling up, Fire Breath is great, take it, slot it, learn to aim it and destroy some spawns. Endgame it's still useful as well to clear minions when solo. You should be able to fit it into most builds. If you see a fire build without Fire breath in endgame it's because the animation is a little slow and the DoT ticks a little slow, which is less useful when you're clearing things so fast with incarnated teammates. Leveling up, you will get good use out of it because spawns aren't cleared at this accelerated rate. You need to decide for yourself whether you want to keep it after leveling up. Personally I'm a little torn, but lean toward keeping it.

    SS/Dark Build help

I didn't even know that existed. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes, thanks!

    SS/Dark Build help

(Edit)HelenCarnate fixed all my issues with one fell swoop, thanks so much! That endurance proc shifted my build around to where I can manage things. You're the best!
