Do you have a mids file for your current build? It might be easier to offer improvements if we know where the starting point is.

Hiya', yeah... I don't think I ever totally planned one out. I'll have to look around. If I come across it, I'll post it.

  2. Hi all,

Running  ITF at the last TT exposed the ancientness/"what was I testing" of my Rad/SS build. My poor main Tank on Everlasting needs some build love. Ideally, the build should allow for exemping as well as running higher content. My current schedule doesn't allow enough hours in the day for me to work on mids much, so if anyone has a build they'd like to share, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, and Happy Tanking!

I swear I saw a half level worth of xp on the first spawn.  But it also seemed like it took us 5-10 minutes.

At least you weren't fighting CoT at that level at the +4 setting...

  4. All things considered, sounds like it went pretty well. I was a bit pressed for time last night and forgot to welcome all the new comers and returning TTer's. Hopefully they we're scared off by the server burp that affected the league or the fun that is SB leading a team.

So, welcome to all the players new to TT and to all players returning to the event!

  5. Another fun run on Everlasting tonight. I think we ended up with four teams, two ITFs (thanking for leading the first ITF team Ronin), SB's "suicide squad" in the Hollows for fun filled FrostFire (thanks for leading SB), and a missions team lead by MsA (thanks for leading).

04/20 we're on Reunion for our Euro "morning" edition. Meet in KR by IP gate at 9:30AM PDT.

04/23 we're back on Indom! Meet in KR at 6PM PDT/9PM EDT and we'll get rolling from there.

  6. The hits probably came from "To Hits" buffs from the mobs. I don't recall all the powers that GMs have in the hive, but I'm sure they're packing something. A couple other mobs to test with would be CoT, Carnies and the infamous Malta (although Malta likely won't be a big issue, since I think Rooted takes care of the Endurance Drain). I'm not a SA guru so hopefully some others that are more familiar with the set will stop by with some ideas. Also if you can find some 54 DE you could test the "To Hit" possibility a bit more. There's also Longbow or Vanguard... I can never remember, but one or both of those groups come with pretty big buffs and debuffs, so would be good for testing.

  7. As for my leveling report. A friend rolled one as well and we ran them up to FrostFire range (did Atlas, King's for the flight pack, somehow got the Fortune Teller mission (never happens that easily for me), then off to the Hollows). Stopped at FrostFire, so might not be until next Friday that he sees more action. As for the build, I added Heavy Hammer (as the punch, pretty cool animation), and I took Leaping for CJ (I just need that powers...), HOWEVER, I will be taking Teleport as the main travel set (according to the challenge). I think I have all the Primary powers up to Dark Regen.

Managed to get a few hours to play Eretricus over on Everlasting. He's lvl 27 already as I got in on a +2 Synapse at 15, and just ran a +2 SBB. I usually use fly, mystic fly, or oddly enough teleport, so this one ended up with super jump. Otherwise I threw together a rough build to ensure I get Psi Tornado fit in as well.

Great minds think alike. This is very close to how mine looks.

  9. So... I got a few mins to run my Dark/SM and got him up to level 3 or 4. He currently has DE, DS, and SF. At creation I opted for the new punchy animations instead of the hammers to see how I liked them. Looking forward to hanging a few more levels on him this weekend (mostly because if I can, it means I have some spare time...). I'm hoping to fit all the punchy stuff in, but might have to make exceptions. I normally run all (most) of my Tanks with the Leaping Pool, but for this build I'll be looking at Teleportation (gads, I dislike "tele-Tanking", but those are the challenge rules (trying something different) call for something different, so ...)). More to come...

  10. Hi all,

Just for fun and to take a different tack on the postings, instead of a "which is better" thread, I wanted to start a "challenge" thread. Feel free to take up the challenge of playing the sets I've posted and to post your experience while leveling. Dark/Stone can be a bit of a challenge due to both sets Endurance hungry attitudes (designs really, but attitude sounds be bit more anthropomorphic). The goal will be to get the toon to 50 (no time constraint, just see it through) and for added fun let's take the new PSi Mastery for the Epic/Patron powers (bonus points if you can squeeze PSionic Tornado in as well). This set will provide some additional End management options later in the game, so it's both practical and has some interesting powers that can contribute to the build.

So, for the challenge to work, no straight up PLing, you can team and such, but no door sitting. You're a Tank! Step up and be a Tank!

    A few quick tips:

    1) Healing uniques/procs are your friends, get them slot them in Health. The Theft of Essence is your friend, get it as soon as you get Dark Reg.

    2) Force Feedback's chance for Recharge is your friend, get them and slot them.

    3) Hasten may or may not be your friend depending on your build and Endurance Management ability.

In addition to posting your experiences post what you've tried, what's worked, and/or what hasn't. Feel free to add to your challenge (taking Teleport pool if you normally take Flight, trying to work the Leadership Pool in, etc...). Remember the goal is to have fun, try something new and challenging and relay your experience to the community at large.

Have fun with the set and hope you enjoy the challenge!

Oh, btw, the sets are Dark Armor and Stone Melee (enjoy the added alternate animations for Stone Melee. Nice work, and thanks to the Devs!).

And, I forgot to mention it's "stunningly good fun" (pun intended, decide for yourself if you want to play up to this aspect of the pairing),

Oh well, guess I'll have to change it to ATMSTOMPR...

or ATMMSHR... oh, and carry a potato masher, that's an axe option right?

Logging in this morning, however, I was "genericized".  Just the name, not the costume.  Dunno why "ATMSMSHR" would infringe on any copyrights, though.  🤔🤷‍♂️

    Sigh... :classic_rolleyes:

  13. Good run on Torch tonight. Three teams. One missions team, one Nunina's lead by Pep, and one Synapse, lead by Ronin. Thanks to all are team leads and good to see new players and returning vets to the game/TTs. Welcome one and all.

    Of note:

Sat the 20th we're on Reunion at 9:30 AM PDT.

4/30 we're on back here on Torch for an MSR!!

Next week we're back on Everlasting! See you soon!

Yes, the plan was to run the 20-24 Safeguard (Protect Steel Canyon bank) for the Summon Teammates (Group Recall) temp power and then the Synapse TF.

Depending on how it goes we may be able to get the 25-29 Safeguard to Protect Independence Port done as well.

Let's stick with leveling them up as group. Sounds like we had a plan from last time, so we'll stick to that. Thanks for keeping track of things Ronin.

  15. Hey all,

I'm bumping this thread to two reasons, 1) to acknowledge that I can't read a calendar (the next TT here will be on the 20th, NOT the 13th), and 2) to find out where everyone is at with their Bio/* pairing. Does everyone have Synapse done? If not, we should plan on running it on the 20th.

  16. I've been working up an Ice/DBer, and I like the pairing. I think Chilling Embrace and Icicles helps make up for misses (which seem to happen frequently). Of note, at 30-something he's not very IO'd and I haven't really started ramping up Accuracy or done anything to really improve or expand on the Secondary. I'm sure with some strategic procinig things can be improved. I will say I'm  not a big fan of the "builder sets", that is sets that require one power to build up to another, because .... you miss.

  17. Great fun on Excel tonight. We ran five teams, two missions (Thank you for leading MsA and Agoogala), one Manti (thanks for leading Ronin), a Yin (thank you for stepping up and leading Mr.Body), and one Tinpex, lead by me. I had a blast and it seemed like we had new faces at the event, so welcome to all new comers and as always welcome to the returning TTer's.

04/09 we're back on Torch! Meet in KR at 6PM PDT/9PM EDT and we'll get rolling from there.

I also would like to play lesser used powers.

Bio/KinMelee or SR/KinMelee, haven't see many (if any of those around).

    If you want a build challenge try Dark/Rad, Dark/Stone, Dark/TW, or Dark/Axe.

You could use colors and affects to make the sets look "plaguey"

Would it be too cheeky to suggest Fire Melee coloured green? 😄

It's never wrong to suggest Fiery Melee!
