Given the state of MMO today, do you have opinions on why CoX is such a unique game after 20 years? Even other games in the superhero genre seemed to be either a reskin of another MMO (stats boosts in costume parts *shudder*) or generally missing the point. IMHO no game reached the synergy of flexibility, game play and player interaction. Not to say it's perfect, but modern games don't have the same draw for me as CoH did and does

Something that some games have which I like is a way to interface with the game without logging on.. Examples off the top of my head is Neverwinter and Eve Online (aka the bad game). How easy would it be for outside calls to the CoX databases? Something like integrating tighter links to Mids Reborn or a Market app app to make buying enhancements easier? Even a way to import costumes from an outside app for AE and PC characters? Just curious, as we can see the database structure underpinning the game now...

I have been running CoH on my desktop using Linux/Lutris nicely with both Tequila and HC launcher. However I got frustrated with Win10 being slow on my relatively new AMD laptop (A12 with discreet Rawdon graphics) so installed Linux to play the game when staying at Mum's place. The game installs and runs, but shuts the computer down after a short period of play. Not a reboot, it looks like an automatic shutdown and my guess it is thermal shutdown. I am running the standard amdgpu driver from Ubuntu (20.10 x64) and I don't want to install the AMD pro driver, in part because AMD uses 20.10 for its own version release, which is slightly confusing. Any ideas to help reduce the heat as it is only CoH that causes it as I am running Gnome Boxes with Win10 guest so I know it is not system load 🤷‍♀️

I have set up a discord server for Level 50 players. The idea is similar to the original Level 50 chat channel on Guardian during Live, where Level 50 can plan and organise player content like raids and end game content (Incarnate Trials, Dark Astpria and Task Forces/Strike Forces) and provide a chat service for them. The invite code is https://discord.gg/TpR3sy5 and I will also set up a corresponding channel ingame at Excelsior. For the game channel email/tell @leftenant Australia for access (it is not set up yet). I want to set up a calander and planning support for players to let them know when events are planned and are looking for groups. This channel is open for everyone who is or is planning end game content. Ideally you should be level 50, and eventually I may enforce the rule, but at the moment it is open for all to allow neuterl ground for Super Groups to chat and plan ahead. Most of the graphics are far better than my crappy old ;aptop, but some maps come out very bright. And adjusting Gamma does not resolve it. Any ideas I can use?

I dunno. back in the day I was sure of two things: Kicking arse and getting Impressive XP Debt with my elec/elec blaster. With the changes with Nuke, now Snipe, I am still kicking arse but XP debt is just a distant memory. Why are you killing my expetations of accumulating XP Debt???? I WANT TO KNOW WHO IS RESPONSABLE!!! Oh look, the nice men in white coats are coming. Gotta go!!!
