  4. You are not, in-fact, stating facts. Debuffs are quite literally one of the strongest things in the game and your chart is simply wrong, as proven by *playing the game*.

  8. Correct, SS has zero protection against slows. Immobilizes are the only thing of concern on this front - Combat Jumping provides this, and is inherently faster than hovering via bunny-hopping. Almost every good build takes Combat Jumping for said Immobilize protection - whereas Flight as a pool has to spend a third power pick to acquire the same protection. Super Speed + Combat Jumping is two powers, to explain. Fly + Hover + EM is three. This is setting aside that you have to spend more enhancement slots on capping flight speed (for both Hover and Fly) than you do on capping run speed or jump speed. I hope this explanation helps! 🙂 Edit: I'd like to add, as well, that Hasten is essentially one of the strongest power picks in the game. It just flat-out makes more sense to take Super Speed/Combat Jumping vs taking three powers to have equivalent Immob Protection, only to end up requiring more investment to be fast as well.

  10. I'd like to add that Hover has no inherent -fly protection. You explicitly have to build for your movement functionality to not be turned off. Jumping, Speed, what have you - do not have to do this. It costs an entire extra power pick (And an IO slot or two in order to be relatively fast) to safely be a flying character, as opposed to a character that has a different form of locomotion. That's the only thing about Flight that needs to be re-imagined as a pool. Simply make it equivalent to every other travel pool in terms of mez prot and we can all live happily.
  11. I feel it is worth saying that, while Shin's approach is prickly; she does have a point. Setting aside the observable stereotype of the empathy defender who has Healing Aura on Auto, the set is objectively outclassed. Nature, Pain, Thermal and Marine are just a few sets that take everything Empathy does (Barring AB), and does it better. The set lacks a major debuff, has a dud power in Recovery Aura, and a litany of other problem; like the three powers that are directly inferior to their counterparts in other sets. I won't get too deep into it, being as the OP literally already has, but as it stands there's functionally zero reason to bring Empathy. It has, for all intents and purposes, no place; and Shin's suggested changes would immediately make it a strong pick. Would it replace Nature in a 4* comp? No. Would it be a viable alternative pick to something like elec, marine or thermal? Certainly. Overall, while we can't make anyone with their hands at the wheel accept these suggestions; I politely implore you to consider this one. It's one of the most notable sub-par sets in the game - made more and more irrelevant by being outclassed by every new set added since the game's birth.
  12. Amazing, mission complete! That right there is why you're the best, boss! You've done great work updating Empathy for the modern era, Shin - now! We can only hope that the devs take your sage wisdom and turn it into a good, desirable rework.
  13. I will just say that I'm happy for the conversation that seems to have kicked up. I just wanted to ask for a bit of transparency - and we've gotten that to some extent. I'm actually fairly grateful to the Powers Devs in question for that. Even if maybe what we get transparency on is occasionally perplexing.
