  1. I play stupid games for the intent to give it away like a come find me game. I make it easy and not hide so they can just friend me and find me. I'll broadcast asking someone to guess the number I'm thinking of and then I just give inf to the first 2 or 3 people that simply say a number. I've given away a lot of purple drops, too. I'll buy an ATO, give it to someone and tell them something like, "I found this in the back of the AH. Don't tell anyone." It's fun seeing the reactions. At the end of the day, I made back more than I gave away.

This is a very tough scrapper pairing.  I've never done Inv but I've been on my Claws/SR and watched a SG mates DM/ Inv tank Recluse on a STF that could easily have been a Masters run.  (Memories are too old to recall if it actually was)

This.  I have a DM/Inv that was my main for a long time on Live.  I'm not sure I've built a more durable scrapper as it, too, was able to tank LR.  I solo'd a MoITF without inspirations or Incarnates back on Live(thank you Iggy for the inspiration) (where is that guy anyhow?).

DM/ can provide fantastic ST damage thanks to Soul Drain.  Outside of pairing it with /shield, I had one of the higher DPS numbers on the old Live Pylon Damage thread.  AVs were a cakewalk.

By no means am I looking for a pat on the back because it's just a game, but it shows you the potential of how great this pairing can be.

    correct.

to avoid this you need to check the use free costumes box when making a toon and then after getting to the game create the costume with any bells and whistles you want.

as repayment for wiping toons. Any veteran player may now get up to 5 auto 50's. A new player would only get 1 initial (if you make it a farmer you're set, don't worry).

I did exactly that on each of the toons because I was going to worry about the costume later. I would even do random costumes just go get something going.  I've been reading everything on their Discord.  I may try again today, but, either way, the point still stands that it's not in a good place right now.

  4. They had to wipe everyone's toons because of the issues.  I've made four toons since the wipe and eventually you get mapserved and you can't log onto to that toon anymore.  It's not shot at the people over there, but it is a mess right now.  I really hope they can turn it around because there are some neat ideas over there.

  5. And just to take things a step further, I was on a team without a tank and we did it just fine.  We all just gang banged each tower while LR danced around pretending like he was important.  After the towers went down, we destroyed him.  Incarnates can change a man.

To me, this makes no sense though. At least, not for someone who has a farmer. If you were morally opposed to farming or something then fine. But if you have one then you can PL your OWN guy. This game can run on a flip phone. Almost any PC not made out of bamboo and coconut shells can run two instances of it. A second account is allowed by the terms of service, withing reasonable limit. (You'll have to look up what those are.)

Any time you spend farming all you need to do is put that farmer in a group with the toon you want to PL. You get the same amount of inf. from the farm run, more in fact since there is a group bonus, and you level a toon. And yet you would spend the inf. that you gain, in large part by farming, to pay someone else to level your guy so you don't have to do it?

Obviously, you and anyone else is free to play or not play the game however you like. And I understand how the beginner content is kind of done to death and was not all that good from the start. I just don't understand the reasoning here.

I'm not saying I go searching for paying farms, but I don't have a problem with having to pay if the farm set that rule out.  And, really, since the game came back, I think I've paid for two farm RUNS and I've sit on a lot of farms.  But you missed my points of times I don't feel like playing, but if the opportunity was there to get PL'd without having to do it, I'd take it, even if it means paying.  Another instance is I have the ability to work from home and while I can't play and work, but I can sit on a farm and work.  I don't mind paying for that if I have to.  Believe me, I PL myself often with my farmers, but sometimes just sitting there and getting the XP is nice.  If influence was hard to come by, I'd think twice about it.  I mean, I literally give away purp drops and inf almost every time I play.  As in, I broadcast asking someone to guess the number I'm thinking of to win inf.  I literally just pick the first person that responds.  By no means am I trying to tout all the inf I have, but I'm just stressing the point that the inf loss from a paid PL is negligible.  There's a ton of crap in this world people pay for when they can do it for free, but if the value is there, they will do it.  I can serve myself food for free, but going to a restaurant so I don't have to is nice sometimes.

And, in the end, it's all fake money and just a game so it's whatever to me.

There's nothing stupid about paying someone for a service.  you're assuming that someone is online offering free pls 24/7.  that isn't the case and some people would rather spend inf to be done quicker rather than waiting around.

Agreed.  I have two farmers and I have zero problems paying for a PL if I have to.  Inf is stupid easy to make and there are times I can't or don't feel like actually playing, so why not still get an alt leveled up while I watch TV or something?  The time I sit on that farm, I probably made back 10 to 20 times the amount I paid for the farm on the market.

I offered a valid suggestion. It would be beneficial to everyone if we had an AE channel to help alleviate the clutter in LFG chat. I would love to take all these people off ignore, but until the LFG channel can be freed from the constant request for fire farms, I have no choice but to shut them off with the ignore function.

Why would you want to take them off ignore, anyways?  Aren't they just going to be a bunch of 50 newbs that don't know how to play?

Why?  Are we really that bored?  I’m gonna go craft enhancers. Make a ton of Inf.  Run storylines on a experience nerfed toon. Then maybe tonight have someone PL a new alt i havent even thought of yet. Without advertising. Or paying. Because that is just how we roll on Everlasting-Homecoming. Cheers

Whoa!  Did you check with the How To Play Police?  They can be real sticklers.

    Learn something new every day.

Obviously, you must be a PL'd newbie.  Had you played 1-50, you would already know everything about the game and be typing up guides for everyone on how to play the right way.

Do you utilize all of the attacks? Or just picked them up for the enhancements? From all the research I have seen, almost all just have a few attacks. I love your build!

Both?  I mean, the enhancements are nice, but I just like having attacks.  I want to slice people any way I can.  Made sure I had an optimal attack chain for some ST action and then a little AoE when I'm feeling fancy.  Thanks!!

I'm trying a bit of that, but it's tedious.  Why not double your inf quickly and easily rather than (maybe at most?) triple it with a lot of micromanagement and time?

The only thing I'm proud of is that I was able to pick up a bunch of Avalanches in the last few days of the winter event at between 3-4mm.  Finding the HOB without actually burning a sale can be marvelous!

Yeah the micromanagement and time is what I'm not a fan of.  More than likely, just going to make the quick buck.  It's all pretend money anyways, right?!?

This was the "masterplan" I selfishly kept under wraps as I read you all talking about opening the packs and selling the stuff. Figured the least competition, the more volume for me to sell.

Then one day after the event ends, they're already selling like hot cakes for 20M a piece. Ha!

Goes to show how little we matter compared to the population at large. Organic market activity dwarfs our various schemes. 🙂

This is where I'm at.  I bought 100 of them at the 10m price and now I'm contemplating if I want to open them and see what I can make or just sell them back for 20m for a sure fire profit.  I'm leaning towards selling them back as opening and doing these packs may be too much tedious work than I care to do.

  15. Well just for fun I decided to run this with some Lore pets.  It made quite the difference, too.  Personally, I don't "count" using Lore, but couldn't help but see.  The best run I was able to do without Lore was 1:02.

    Courageous Girl

    TW/Bio Scrapper

    Hybrid and Destiny Enabled

    T4 Musculature

    T4 Degenerative

    T4 Assault Core

    T4 Ageless

    T3 Cimeroran Total Core

    Times:

    0:38

    0:36

    0:36

    0:37

    0:40

Using pets kept my times more consistent than without them.  I found my time ranges without Lore to be quite large if certain procs don't go off and any impact to my Momentum.  I found my "slower" times with Lore to be because of any time one or both of the pets were KB'd.   Overall, though, I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity as this comes out to nearly 1200 DPS (I am aware of the debate at the accuracy of this number that was posed in this thread) and there was a time that hitting 300 was a milestone.

"Tell me how a blaster will die if Rom isn't even hitting him?  Stay at far enough range in flight and take out one Nictus at a time and then take down Rom the same way."

If you're in attack range then you're still going to get hit. Staying far away might work for Rom but the Nictus can attack from a distance. Plus you are aware we're in a thread about Blaster Secondaries right? Wasn't the original point that brought this on the idea that you could do this while in Melee?

How are you going to take out the Nictus one at a time without anyone helping to separate the one you're attacking from the other Nictus and Rom? It's not going to be one at a time if you're solo, it's going to be all five of them at once because without a team it's not possible to single out just one from the group. Even with a team that's incredibly difficult to do and it requires a tank and possibly some control who can keep their attention while the rest of the team attack the one who's been singled out. You going to be in 2 places at once to accomplish this? I don't see any way you can do this solo when a team can barely do it.

"Blaster DPS is high enough to take them all out one by one."

How are you going to do that though? You can't separate them if you're solo. You might be able to take them out one by one but you need a team to do that.

"Final Rom is probably the easiest part of the whole thing."

That we can agree on. He's only a challenge while he has those Nictus supporting him. But again, you can't separate them solo unless you can some how be in multiple places at the same time. If they're all together, they support each other, they kill you, you might do some damage but you won't be able to kill anything before you die. You won't even make it to just Rom because you won't even beat the Nictus.

    "How is this impossible?"

I've told you multiple times already. It was designed to be a challenge FOR TEAMS! If you can solo it then how is it a challenge for a team? It can't be both soloable and a challenge for a team. If you can solo it on a Blaster than it wouldn't be a challenge for a team. It would be super easy barely an inconvenience. If it's a challenge for a team to do then it must logically be impossible to solo. How is that so difficult to comprehend?

"How are we the stubborn ones if you won't even watch the videos?"

That works both ways you know. You never addressed the video I posted showing how easy it is to edit a demorecord. How do you expect me to trust a video when I know you can fake it. But I guess you think I actually played a shark Mastermind even though I fully admitted that I faked that video.

I know two things that are relevant to this conversation right now.

    1. TFs can not be soloed.

    2. Videos can be faked.

You need to not only prove that 1 is wrong but also that 2 is wrong. The fact that you keep using 2 to prove 1 after I've already proved how easy it is to fake a video shows your stubbornness. Your videos don't prove anything other than you know how to use /Demorecord try something else.

What do I need to address about your video?  Yes I do agree that people can fake things.  I won't deny that.  But I don't really care, tbh.  I don't even need a video of showing proof that someone did it for that matter for the following reasons:

    1. I've solo'd the thing on a Scrapper (I know you don't believe it)

    2. I've known people personally that have done it and I trust their word.  Some of them are close to me and are long, long time RL friends of mine.

    3.   Just in theory alone, it's possible.  Looking at the mechanics and how approach each battle.  The math adds up.

And you keep bringing up designed.  The game was DESIGNED around SOs.  The game was DESIGNED for one hero for every three baddies.  Playing on +4/8 is DESIGNED to be difficult for a full team.  It wasn't DESIGNED for IOs, set IOs, and Incarnates.  And ,yet, we can break what is designed with our Incarnate IO'd toons and solo +4/8 content all day long(or do you not believe that, either?), even though we were never DESIGNED to.  The ITF is DESIGNED around SOs.  The ITF wasn't designed to be finished in 15 mins, but it easily can be on full teams.  It's as easy as piss.  We are now all Ferraris racing in a race full of Geo Metros.  Just because it wasn't designed to do something, doesn't mean it's not possible.  So you can take your designed argument and cram it.

But you're doing this solo, you don't have any of that help, it's just you running into Rom, getting killed, going to the hospital and repeat over and over again.

Here's your problem.  Of course anyone would die over and over doing it like this.  It's called a strategy.  Does a superhero that is cunning and rely on stealth just go bum rush an enemy that's twice his size?  Batman isn't going to go up to Superman without kryptonite or his batsuit in the broad daylight in the streets of Metropolis and say, "hey, let's fight."   Tell me how a blaster will die if Rom isn't even hitting him?  Stay at far enough range in flight and take out one Nictus at a time and then take down Rom the same way.  Blaster DPS is high enough to take them all out one by one.  Final Rom is probably the easiest part of the whole thing.  Stay back and spam a few powers.  Done.  How is this impossible?

How are we the stubborn ones if you won't even watch the videos?  We are the open minded ones trying to push what we can do with our toons.

Please, again, dissect any one of those videos and tell us how it can't be done.

Nobody has the video skills of Michael Bay, or directorial talent. Bad Boys 2 > Godfather 2!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if we spent time playing the game instead of faking videos, we'd be able to make a real video some day?

Maybe one day we'd understand the game mechanics and realize that we shouldn't be doing things like this because it's IMPOSSIBLE.

It took @jshmoe1236123 a long time to edit that video. Plus we also had to start a thread in Scrapper forums and have that discussion to give our fake video a good cover to make it more believable. Making a two hour and 47 minute video took about four times that long, but it was totally worth it to fake out the community.

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to rat us out.  I thought my video skills were up there with Michael Bay.  I need more practice.

  20. In the spirit of posting fake videos. @MunkiLord and I duo'd the STF with our Scrappers.  No it's not a fake solo, but we are still doing something that wasn't originally intended.  Wait, sorry, we didn't do it because we faked it.  Here is us not doing it:
