[Brackets] and power and the forum.
Cipher replied to KnightSoul's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
This is something we recently discussed actually. Though I can't make any promises or give any sort of time frame, it's something we'd be interested in doing 🙂 -
This was caused by a sudden need to change nameservers on the patch domain entirely which can take 72 hours to propagate to everyone. The issue should now be resolved though.

[RESOLVED] Tequila cannot fetch the manifest
Cipher replied to Anker Steadfast's topic in Help & Support
Our primary patch server is currently experiencing a network outage, but a second server has been spun up until that is resolved. To use the alternate server, do the following: Open Tequila and click [Options] Paste http://patch2.homecomingservers.com/manifest.xml into the box under Manifests, to the left of [Add] Click [Add] Click [OK] Restart Tequila -
We do have a PayPal Debit card yeah, but even that was locked down during the time that this thread was made. It was simply because we were a new business (the LLC had just been formed) with a new account trying to throw lots of money at a French company (OVH), which set off all manner of alarms which even their customer service reps could not manually override and "had to let run it's course and checks". All is well now though 🙂

The forums use a feature called lazy loading to reduce page load times; what this does is replace images on the page with placeholders until you scroll down and they come into view, at which time it loads the real images in their places. Waterfox has a known issue with JS based lazy loading, but there's another issue with Wix's CDN 401ing (refusing essentially) certain images that have been posted from their CDN on the forums which is out of our control. If this continues to be an issue I will disable lazy loading. -
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! As stated earlier in the month, our host consolidated most of our bills to the first of each month. This means that we’ll now need to open the donation window on the last Saturday of each month rather than the first. Today is the first day of the new schedule and things are actually pretty simple for our finances in August so this post will be quite a bit shorter than in previous months. Our donation window on Saturday, July 6th went over by quite a bit due to pending donations at the time it was closed. Our contingency fund ($1,250) is still full, so we actually have an additional $1,699.47 to put towards the bills for August. July Breakdown Our last donation window was on July 6th, so this one will be from that point onward. If you would like to see a breakdown of our expenses and invoices for the month of July then feel free to check out this post. We were billed pro-rata for our SQL server licenses from the 11th ($88.92) and 15th ($71.98) of July to the 31st of July, consolidating these bills to the first of August: https://i.imgur.com/yytXaGy.png https://i.imgur.com/dJlnUYB.png On the 20th and 22nd we paid IPSFocus (https://www.ipsfocus.com/) a total of $47 to license the base theme for the forums which we had been working on modifying for our forums. We were in the process of getting a quote from them for a custom theme, but after tinkering with an existing base they had, we decided to just license it and continue working on that instead. Other colour schemes for Villains and Praetorians are on the way! Lastly, on the 22nd of July we were billed $10.00 for Atlassian Jira Cloud, which we use for task management. PayPal transactions: https://i.imgur.com/yhSHS4V.png August Breakdown Our monthly upkeep has settled in at $4,823.40: $4,716.60 to OVH for our servers $10 for Atlassian Jira (Cloud, 10-user plan) $96.00 for Google G-Suite (Business, 8 users) We do not have any additional expenses in August and the contingency fund is still full, so after deducting July 6th’s overrun, the donation target for the month of August comes in at $3,123.93. As of the time of this post, our donations will be open at https://forums.homecomingservers.com/donate and will automatically close when the donation goal has been met. Edit: The donation goal has been met and donations are now closed. Thank you for all of the support! Thank you again for your continued support; we look forward to the future!

It's a server that hosts patch files 🙂

You are using the forum manifest that was meant only be used temporarily while our patch server had experienced an issue. Please remove the forum manifest by doing the following: Click [Options] Select "http://forums.homecomingservers.com/update/manifest.xml" from the list near the bottom Click [Delete] on the right side.

The forums use a feature called lazy loading to speed up page load times significantly; this essentially works by only loading images and other embedded content (like videos) when you scroll down to them, preventing your browser from trying to load all of them at once when you load the page. This looks like an issue in Waterfox specifically as lazy loading does appear to be working in all of the browsers I have tested personally (including an older version of IE). If we get reports of others having this issue, I may just disable lazy loading altogether, though it's really best to leave it on if possible.

Wow this is a really interesting approach that I would have never considered - very well done! -
Ask and you shall receive. Edit: Wondering if I should change the style on the HR to match that of what is between the post content and signature in posts but that could be confusing.

No worries! Glad it works for you now. If you have any other suggestions feel free to let us know 🙂
