  1. Exactly! Some folks just don't know how to build or just have no interest/time for it but they want a base of their own. And if you don't know a builder or all the builders you know don't have time or interest to help, you're screwed. I'd love to see a collection of pre-made bases that folks just make available for others to have uploaded to use as they wish. As far as theft goes, you're correct; salvage, enhancements, and inspirations aren't copied over. But not all base builders want to share demorecords of their work and if someone else claims the work as their own it could be a potential nightmare of: "HEY! That's MINE!" "NUH UH! It's MINE!" Personally, I wouldn't want to be the GM who has deal with that mess. >.> Like, I built this coral garden. That room alone was more than 100 hours of work and I want it to be unique to the SG I made it for so I wouldn't choose to share the demorecord for it. But if demorecord imports were done with no verification process, anyone could get that base loaded as their own. That being said, I have two demorecords that I'd love to share; one bug-out shelter ( made to look like two buried shipping containers that are furnished as a shelter, complete with hidden entrance) and another that's a working mock-up of the abandoned warehouse in Kallisti Warf and is full of equipment. Having a catalog of bases that people can choose from for their own base would be amazing and could easily get more people interested in building.
  2. Actually, it can be done. Not by the average player, but a dev with access can do it. The problem becomes that anyone can take a demorecord of any base and claim that it's theirs. A dev/person with access to uploading demorecords won't necessarily know that the Really Cool Base that Bobby Joe is asking to have uploaded on Torchbearer was actually made by Billy Jean on Everlasting. Now if there was a digital signature that couldn't be altered by the end-user but could be read by devs or some other way to verify owners? Who knows? I would love to be able to build bases that other folks could just move into! Last night I got 4 base-wide floors installed above the base footprint, complete with tiles on the underside so you can't see up through the bottom of them. That was almost twelve hours of work. I'd pass out that demorecord like candy if I could! It'd save you guys twelve freakin' hours of work!
  3. To the people who tirelessly work to make us base stuff: You're AMAZING!!! Okay, I've read all of the posts (SO many awesome ideas!). Here are a few more. (Yes, I know I'm repeating some. 😛 ) Massive plates in addition to whatever extra-large, large, medium, small, extra-small, to use as floors (plates that actually act like floor, i.e. like the white tile floor and not like the grass plates). 24x24 and 12x12 would be amazing! All existing floor styles as placable plates that can be flipped upside down to act as ceilings, better yet: floor plates that have graphics on the underside so it can be used as a floor and ceiling at the same time! Placable walls to surround outdoor builds that keep people from walking off of layered, above-the-base builds. So, extra-long walls with a variety of textures, lengths, and heights. More building pieces to go with "Mansion Wall." - Longer wall pieces and maybe a difference between the inside and outside? *edit* Maybe one with a door frame and door that we can stick in it if we want it closed or partly open? My own solution is okay but it's less than optimal. Sidewalks! (with curbs on both sides for ease of placing) Cement Brick Tintable Paths: Dirt Cement Wood Stone Plate textures: Tintable - In General Sand Dirt Natural Stone Snow Cement Marble Slate Wood Floor (like the existing one) Street (asphalt with painted lines) Lighting: Lit (that actually cast light) and Unlit versions of existing light items Sourceless lighting effects: that we can just plop into a room to have light Is it possible to have a slider for light intensity? The spotlights suck for light, especially considering that they're supposed to be way brighter than a "normal" light. And OMG!!! Thank you SO much for the coffee pots!! I'll never have to build another out of drinking fountains, water coolers, and microscopes! And all the other stuff is great! I can finally set places in gigantic dining halls! Speaking of kitcheny stuff: As others have said, a fridge. Other appliances would be great too! Stove ( if you want to get fancy, include: Gas (lit and unlit?), Electric, and -shudder- glass top) Dishwasher Oven Bowl mixer ( ❤️ Hobart and KitchenAid! ) Clothes washer and dryer Pots and Pans ( I know this is nitpicky and it's on my Want list, not my Need list. I've been a foodie for more than twenty years. Can't help it. 😛 ) Thanks again to the digital artists who are creating assets for our building delights! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
  4. Antlers. From nubs to fully grown. New hairstyles: Really long, and all lengths with some curl Are long, flowy skirts and dresses still impossible? Existing costume request: Back in the day you could put wings on characters with jackets and the bolero. Then you couldn't. Then you could. Then you couldn't again. Would it be possible to have access to wings with jackets and boleros again? I'm sure I'll come up with more over time... >.>
  5. For the love of all we hold holy, can we please have the base items tabs organized? We have pillars, stairs, surfaces, statues, cabinetry, and the gods know what else, in multiple tabs. Yes, we can search by item. But unless I'm looking for a specific thing, like stairs, I scroll through the tab's contents because seeing all of the items frequently inspires me to make cool stuff. But remembering which stairs, or shelves, or walls, or whatever, is on which tab is becoming cumbersome and more than a little annoying. Hell, I'd be willing to do it! I know all of you folks with access to the tools are crazy-busy, both with CoHH and analog life, so I'd be more than willing to go through all of the tabs and make a spreadsheet with each item and the tab it should go on so all someone with access has to do is translate the item data to the UI for building, or whatever sorcery it is that gets these things done. What're our chances of seeing this happen?
  6. Yes, please! I'm back to logging out, then back in, searching inventory, mailing it to myself, alting. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. It takes forever.
  7. Please! I'm epileptic and Afterburner is so much like a strobe/flicker effect that I can't use it at all without risking a seizure.
