It wastes compute by nature, to maintain process replicate due to overhead of the existence of the process instances as plural with respect to CPU instructions allocated, and storage/memory IO. At absolute best, it's resource inefficiency. You could claim that separation of 100 users from 1000 users alleviates conditions where that 100 users existing pressures server dynamics such that conditions unique to player density arise. I'd call rubbish on that, and you're still paying overhead running husks (on same hardware). You'd gain a more populated paragon city / rogue isles / wherever-the-gold-people-go.

I don't get it. Is it name collision --> I'll un-sub / riot? you can still have you're closed communities among a larger crowd, no? Seems it'd be a wiser use of scarce resources, and less repeated infrastructure instanced to support comparative husks, that fragment the overall player pool, kupo.

I'm blending blaster. Sleet / ice storm, I should have written. Or the tornado'ey one out of shark patron. You probably understand, positioning onto a pseudopet / patch effect. I imagine its annoyingly repetitive to levitate to cluster mobs, as mind doesn't immob -> keeping monsters on a patch would require almost constant spam of levitate to achieve. I really like how mind looks, and it's quick activation feel. But it is underpowered when compared to dark, arsenal, symphony, elec, earth...

Sure, that works too. It'd certainly make posi 2 interesting if there was a player or two as final boss guards, who'd likely lose vs a whole team, to fight.... ..or positioned in the tunnel between where the cot are and the final chem bombs. Make it so the invaders / player bosses can't heal, and get rewards for participation and more for player kills. Point being they're kinda supposed to lose. Like the 'spears of the church' fight in dark souls 3 -- random toggle invasions are just that, a given synapse endless bot kill would be spiced up tremendously with an arena round, or indeed direct player invade into the regular stuff. 'theyve captured a team member! Rescue them!' It'd be truly unique across mmos on the go even now. There are a lot of PVP players out there, and if you don't like it, you'd not need to encounter it. I'd have a server with it forced flagged on, hell, I'd allow corpse enhancement looting. But that's just me. Force exemp to prevent gross level imbalance. That system's already in game. -

no one is using SOs at 50.... we're clinging to shit from 20years ago. but... you can make lvl 30ish IOs simply enough, and cheaply too - so often for key things like hasten, just put a couple in like that until you get 50, and it'll serve until you can make enough merits and things to get fancy. truth be told though - inf problems go away if you are willing to make a farmer character. it still remains a pain, to actually do the farming, but inf is no longer a hard barrier that way. -

It would be good to merge servers. If not, a server atop them where we're playernameA@excelior, playernameA@torchbearer works too, but is implementation as opposed to merge. You'd be pissy about renaming collisions, threaten to explode, realize it's an awesome MMO without a sub, and settle back into playing again I suppose. Maybe the 100-150 people on smaller servers really just like playing with the same people for years. I can respect that but don't share the sentiment. The encounters on excelsior are polite and functional, but end the instant a tf completes, with the same text said every time. And we all pretend to get angry about dfb badges. For YEARS. But the powers look cool. I'd also put 4x xp on redside, BUT you can't null. Yours, Figs, player community expert

Hi! It's me, Figs, so far I'm enjoying the storm / marine powerset combination on corruptor. a real standout is whitecap! some people don't like it, I sure do. (Targeted AoE, Minor DMG(Cold), Foe Knockdown, -Resist(All), Self Teleport, Special) an aoe damage (so procs), knockdown (so force feedback for recharge boost), res down, teleport!, and ludicrously quick to cast. I love everything about this power. i dont know about the final one yet - but whitecap sets you up for melee team member exposure. I'm in two minds about shoal rush - its up again base before it expires (15s recharge, 20s debuff unmodified). I don't know if it can stack with itself from the same player... but it feels like a poison powerset skill, and is a quick 15ft ranged aoe to soften harder targets defense. another one great in teams. torroidal bubble is just good, its like 'fade' but with res, and grants recovery. I think storm pairs well with a diverse support secondary like marine on corruptor. Its my first real storm blast character, so I'm still figuring it. I don't mind the 'not like other blasters' feel of it... its like being a better controller damage wise on a corruptor so far, in feel at least. jet stream is good - because of the repel, though requires the player to be aware of positioning for a team. That compliments the heal well, it's like nature - must aim directionally cone. you end up moving about a lot, and thinking about group layout as you might with control sets. I like the combo enough that my character, Scipio Lucaria, is a definite 'do not /respec and reclaim the enhancements'. -- Figs, powerset expert

trying to choose ultimate, bestest /kin on controller... Arsenal Control - dunno. never tried it. hardy af pet. Darkness Control - minus tohit, a fear cone, aoe hold isnt a 1 shot but groups travel too fast to make it v useful. aoe stun. Earth Control - minus def on lots of things. earthquake. ok'ish pet Electric Control - best sleep patch (on a low recharge), slow chaining on synaptic overload + miss break chain, ok/decent pets Fire Control - bonfire. imps. Gravity Control - wormhole, phase patch that people can go in and out of. propel. good pet. Ice Control - super-wide fear cone, ice slick, ok pet Illusion Control - phantom army, self-aiming invulnetable fear turret, superior invis, group invis lotg mules Mind Control - new tk, fear cone, mass confuse Plant Control - seeds, creepers, ok pet. (dont skip your aoe immob on a controller ever imo - to note, another thread) Symphony Control - lots of cones. echo pet. i liked it better on dominator? /kin is very busy cycling kin stuff. so higher impact, aoe heavy, quick activation is desirous for group play. you might think - 'just make a mastermind', versus illusion at least. I've found dark/dark to be very effective, like 'group cannot be harmed' effective, but with /kin I'd not have the layering minus tohit. probably 'viewed' as most valuable - illusion. but damn if its not boring aside from maintaining perma-pa casts and resummoning phantasm because it dies a lot. I hear even with accuracy bonuses (global) that wormhole can fail a lot on high level mobsters. so what you think bestest primary for a /kin?
