  1. But you're couldn't win that contests, and you wouldn't get the rewards the winners got. Why do you think they offer rewards on costume contests anyways? Get bring in more people. Not everyone does something just because doing it is enough for them.
  2. And here's my point that you're missing completely. It's not always about microtransactions and monitization. So much of game design should be about player engagement, which in turn gets you to keeps you playing monthly, gets you to want expansions and keeps player count up so that other players have someone to show off their skills/costumes/ achievements too, and encouraging them to also enjoy the game they love. This is what im asking for, and part of this involves earning an small ammout of everything there is to offer.
  3. Just because you don't like a discussion I'm trying to have doesn't make it wrong, especially when it's a different question. Then way is there a developer section ASKING for these things going forward, when they feel safe enough to use it? This is a very fitting g and important question because it's a possible situation that can come up since the developers are eventually moving that direction. it's funny how you didn't pick a answer in this possible scenario, and instead labeled me a spammer. Good one
  4. I never spent more than a monthly fee in games and never bought loot boxes, so I was never victimized like that. However, if your one of the guys that built an awesome mission where I saved a village and after 40 minutes of game play I earned an awesome sword only found in that mission, then your not a bad guy, your amazing. I'm not wanting money to be paying for things, just a little bit of time and some skill as a player
  5. Yes, but only for a very few things and I'm sorry if you view completing a story arc as grinding. Dont people put theams requirements on costume contents? Isn't that a limit put on costumers? Maybe someone dosent want to try and make a robot dinosaur just to join a robot dinosaur costume contest, dose that mean it shouldn't be allowed because it's not how that person wants to costume?
  6. Okay, here's a thought I want some people perspective on. Let's say theres a talented modder that can make a variety of in game costumes, and would do so for free, but would ONLY allow the homecoming team to put them in the game if they were put in as unlockables such as behind story arcs, badges, or other "grinds". A: They should this be allowed and the costumes put in with those restriction so they could be enjoyed by all that gets them. B: They shouldbe rejected because they have restrictions put on them and now no one can enjoy them. What's your reasoning?
  7. Im not telling you that you can't, I'm saying that you need to spend a few minutes running a couple in game missions and beating a Malta story arc to be able to wear that back pack, or be okay with the regular malta backpack
  8. No, it's about pride in overcoming something and having something to show for it. Everyone should have that. Let's take SWTOR. I've never been in the top raiding guilds , or best pvp group, ect, and I never got the stuff they did But I enjoyed the hell out of planetary missions and getting those planet specific rewards like vehicle, costume peices, ect as an example. I'm not asking that they add in something that only 1% of the community could get, although for those that want it, it should be there so that can get it even though I might never could have it. If someone wants to be able to flex that much, let them, and im okay that I won't get that flex. Example If theres a rikti soldier costume peice for free, that's cool and people can have that. But If I want some costume peices that allow me to look a rikti commander, but require that I finish an undercover rikti story arc to unlock ,I should be able to have that too! It's perfectly in reach for almost every player in the game and people telling me im wrong to want that are cruel and short sighted.
  9. Because then it's a limit on the community that everyone can either enjoy beating, or not. If that holds no value, why are we playing homecoming at all and not on Icon where we already had exactly what we have here when it comes to costumes, power sets, and classes plus other costumes peices that aren't here.
  10. That only works if everyone agrees to the challenges and doesn't use set item unless they've earned it. I'm not saying I want coh to become dark souls. I'm saying I enjoy earning something that's a little harder to get and not everyone gets it without trying and I want that involved a little bit in every part of the game like it already is. Every part of the game should have rewards for those that want to put forth effort and not need the player to have to put made up goals on it. I'm starting to have an episode so I can't continue replying, but I'm surprised that these all or nothing attitudes are okay with any limits at all in this game.
  11. But what if we don't enjoy reaching our own arbitrary goals, but really enjoy beating the challenges set by others. I'm not asking you to forfeit 100 out of 100 costumes you got for free. I'm asking that out of the 10 costumes they add, 1 of them not be free. Your all or nothing attitudes is very mean and selfish because its saying how I enjoy something isn't worth it. Here's an example of how extreme this is Lets say you enjoy all blank for free. But I enjoy all blank needing to be earned. These are completely opposite enjoyments. But because I want everyone to be able to enjoy blank, I offer a compromise. I'm willing to compromise and let you have almost all blank still free, with only a few needing to be earned that way we both get something we like. And because I can still enjoy the free ones a little, I let you have the larger portion of blanks be free. Your not willing to compromise at all and your telling my that my way is wrong and your way is better.
  12. And why is that an issue? We also already have hoops to jump through in the game and limits are built into almost every part of the game. If people want to have the last power in thier class. They have to level, they have lots of options on how to get exp, sooner faster than others, but they still have to get that exp somehow. That limits is on almost EVERY power in the game. I just want other parts of the game to offer similar options on other parts for those that enjoy it. I can only imagine how things would be if the game came back with instant 50s... have a headache imagining the arguments people would have on how asking to have to earn levels again limits people's creativity.....
  13. If people just like color, then green should be sufficient. My point was that it's limited and I swapped out a couple words to exemplify that. If people want vegan desserts, should cookies be the ONLY vegan option and if they want a vegan cake, we'll that's just going to far? If people want grinding, should badges be the ONLY grinding option and if they want a grind for costumes, we'll that's just going to far?
  14. Im proposing limits Being an option. Yes im saying there should only be once way to play number 17. Yes that's putting a limit on 1 class the way I want for my personal enjoyment, but you still have 16 classes the way you want for your personal enjoyment. I don't see how that's wrong.
  15. Okay fine. Here's a more appropriate one. I want blue bike, but red is the only option. Should I just be happy with red because it's a bike?
  16. So someone else's happiness isnt worth it? So because some people can't eat peanuts, does that mean no one should be able to enjoy it since it's something someone else can't enjoy? All or nothing is harsh and unfair. Since you don't even have the open mindedness to compromise it's not even worth discussing it with you. Im not selfish. I only want everyone to have something they enjoy in this game, even its something I don't enjoy.
  17. No it's not. Your literally telling me I should only play your way, while you tell me I shouldn't tell others to play my way. It's not even an argument, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy. And im not saying people should have to play my way, I'm saving my way should at least be an option.
  18. Why should I want a burger when I have cereal? I should just be happy with food because it may be gone tomorrow.
  19. Im not the on be suggesting it should be the only way to play. I'm suggesting it should be one of the ways to play. Example You way: people have 17 classes instantly. You can only get all of these instantly and for free and the people who want to earn something have zero of what they want. My way, people have 16 classes for nothing, 1 they can earn. Most are still there for nothing, but one is there for those that want to earn something.
  20. Did you just ask me to play the way you play, then ask me not to ask others top play the way I play, and then say that no one is entitled to ask others to play another way?
  21. Then why have prizes for the winners of costume contests? Shouldn't the fact that they won be the only reward? It's just not justified to force everyone down that only path. Why have powers earned on lvl up? Shouldn't I just be happy with the level up? Some people may not be able to mix and match enhancements to the same extent that someone who makes amazing builds can. Since having enhancements they might never be able to get, or even use to the same extent, why have them?
  22. Then maybe they should spend some time playing the game? Why is it unacceptable to have a few things harder to reach for those that enjoy reaching, just so someone else never needs to reach?
  23. Or because its was the first server, the most stable, plus in talks to become more 'official'.
  24. Just because people enjoy running obstacle courses someone else built, doesn't mean they should be required to build their own and only use that. I feel that outlook is very limited since its expecting everyone to make thier own challenges because no one should face challenges someone else made. Just because I'm bad at building challenging stages in mario maker doesn't mean I shouldn't enjoy beating the stages someone else built.
