I still feel like most of the farmers I see in Pocket-D AE are still Brutes, though (though, yes- I see a few tanks and some other AT's mixed in there on occasion).  If Brutes are so terribly nerfed, then why wouldn't all the farmers be switching to tanks?  It's not like they can't dual-box AFK farm them to 50 in like an hour.  And thanks to having billions of infl, they can slot them with purples right out of the gate.  🤷‍♂️

    well, here's the thing:

The problem is that there is no objective standard . . . other than DPS.  Some players like to eke out every possible drop.  I take it that you are one of them.

But you have to realize that not everyone plays the way that you do.  Nor do they want to.  You keep insinuating, or outright stating, that makes them . . . less.

This is a game that can be played many ways.  Your way is not the only way.

And even if your way was the only way there will always be one powerset or one AT at the top of the chart and another at the bottom; Unless we just give everyone the exact same attack stats.  And that, to me, would be boring and worse.

Ah "if everyone's super, no one will be," which assumes "hey we need something to be just, bad. really bad. that way we can point at them, and laugh".

Well, no. All ships are raised by the buff wave. If you like to feel super, and there's buffs based around high end testing, guess what! That buff trickles down.

Will there always be a top performer and a bottom performer? Yes. Would it be boring if they all just had the same numbers (let's ignore the current dev focus on a damage formula which does exactly that for the purposes of your theoretical argument)? Yes.

Does that mean you can't at least make the gulf between an underperforming set or archetype and an overperforming one a great deal smaller? No, no it does not.

  3. (also historically these forums go 'prove it' and then say 'no you didn't jump through the right hoops, do it again, but i can't be bothered to do it' which generally makes people not care about actually getting the hard data because of a violently casual playerbase)

  4. Well if we can't argue what's worse and better because things fluctuate on skill level, why have discussions? Generally these sort of tests assume equal skill level. Like, if you factor in player dependcies, you might as well not look at numbers, because now you're right back to "well i just like how it feels".

  5. Well, on the subject of the old powers datamine...  I remember saying before the VEAT tweaks, "Hey, do Widows really need confront, how many people even take that" and the answer I got back was, yes, of course they do.

4% of Widow players, (25 people) in total picked confront at the time of the last datamine.

So, hey, number crunching can help show what the players are actually doing too.

AR Corruptors took Beanbag, 11 AR Defenders took Beanbag, and 88 AR Blasters took beanbag, one of the more bottom picked powers in general for Def/Corr, and at the very least the least picked power in the set for Blaster AR (31%).

We still kept it around though, god bless, I guess.

give Dark the same level of status resist as, say, Rad

a fucking CRUMB of KB protection so I'm not the only melee motherfucker bouncing like a doofus ass kid in a inflatable castle when doing Hami raids as every other melee armor set (besides fire armor i guess) just walks through it with 0 issue

The problem at the moment is that the end game in particular is too easy.

Procs are a symptom and part of the problem. They are symptom, because controls and a lot of support is not necessary in most high end content. Damage is the king, queen, and dictator for life.

Well, yeah, and procing affects control-based and support-based sets the most, because Controllers and Defenders have to lean on that to do more damage. A blanket proc change is gonna make the underplayed worse while not affecting the top by very much with one or two exceptions.
