Robotech_Master Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 I'm using a motherboard with an integrated Realtek ALC887 sound chip, latest drivers, and a 5.1 surround speaker set. Works fine with things like Netflix that offer surround sound movies. But when I go into City of Heroes to the sound and video control panel, the option for 3D sound just says "N/A", whether I change the options to Performance or Compatibility, and I don't get sound from the rear speakers. How can I get 3D sound out of CoH? If you liked what I had to say, please check out my City of Heroes guides!
JadeFalcon Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 According to this, 3D Sound is disabled on Windows versions later than XP. It might work with Creative ALchemy (would require a Creative Labs sound card) or IndirectSound.
