Hyperstrike
Are you looking for a primarily Granite-centric build? Or what I term an "un-Granite" build? If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

You don't see a lot of Stone Tanks PERIOD nowadays. The game has evolved to the point where Stone's glaring problems are no longer outweighed by phenomenal survivability. A similarly equipped Invuln or Shielder can be 99.99% as tough without the massive mobility and combat issues. If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK! Or is stone armor just kind of useless without it and stone melee not as good in the damage department? I have a concept for a character that I want to play, but I don't want to scale him all the way up if I'm going to be lagging behind.
Luigrein
I had a stone/stone tank on live and he was great. That said: in granite without IOs you will have better survivability than some IOd builds. With IOs you are THE most unkillable thing. The catch is you give up a good chunk of movement, recharge, and damage for that title. Meanwhile solid IO builds are just ever so slightly behind you and give up none of those. Running out of granite you can be a perfectly fine tank, you won’t be in contention for toughest thing ever but the situations that call for that level of survivability border on nonexistent (possibly ARE even.) However, while your recharge and damage are back to normal, you still have a mobility penalty. Rooted is your mez protection toggle and it comes with mobility limitations. If it fits your concept and you like the aesthetics/feel of the sets go for it! You’ll be a little clunky on movement (teleport is the only travel power that plays nice with stone armor) but it’s not like you’ll be a detriment to your teams. Hyperstrike
Ungranite doesn't TOTALLY fix it. You still have some -SPD. But it cuts out more -SPD, -RECH and -DMG. You still have most of your status and KB Protection. So it "spackles over" the worst of the problems If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK! Honestly, while I acknowledge Stone-/Granite as the Biggest Kid On The Block, it's downsides REALLY (REALLY REALLY) don't mesh well with the speed of the modern incarnation of the game. In fact, with parties becoming ever tougher, it's possible to just leave the Stoner behind holding their...*AHEM* "stalactite". I find that about as "fun" as full-body exfoliation with a belt sander and 10-grit sandpaper... If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!
