Looking at specifically dark mastery and soul mastery, they have almost identical powers with most of the stats in Dark Mastery being significantly more powerful. Specifically, hold duration, the debuffs from darkest night, and tentacles. There's a lower CD on soul darkest night but the stat discrepancy between them really makes that not matter.

Other sets have a lot of similarities(elec/mu for instance) to the patron sets, which make choosing patron sets a little less appealing, which is bad since you need to do an arc to even access them.

Thoughts on an approach to this?

It's not a bug, that's just how most Patron and Epic sets compare in other ATs too.  For example Soul drain in Corruptor/Defender Soul PPP has twice the recharge of the one in Dark APP.

Back on live this was considered justified because the PPP's were usually considered to have better/more powerful options.  For example, snipes for Stalker/Scrappers, Power Boost in the aforementioned Soul for Cor/Def and all of the pets.

Whether it's still true that the PPPs are more powerful is up for debate, but this is definitely not a bug.  If you'd like to suggest a change, feel free to post in the Suggestions section.

I'm saying everything is significantly weaker in the patron power sets compared to ancillary.

Yes, again, that's not a bug.

Here's the old powers archive.  You can see for yourself that this is how its always been for all ATs.  Go and click on one and check the stats between identical powers in APPs vs PPPs.

Because the pets and different powers were considered a big benefit, the raw stats of the overlapping powers were intentionally left lower in PPPs.  That's how its always been.

Not a bug, but definitely something you can suggest for a change.
