Fire/Ice/Mu tank build just have to fun with

I was wondering if this cheap build could handle most missions set at 2/8 or 3/8. I am looking not to farm but just have fun with team mates. I am looking for help to improve this build and keep it under 300million if I can. I'm using temp protection as a mule in this build.

Looks reasonably solid to me.  Should do fine.  Couple small tweaks I'll suggest:

 

1.  Taunt only needs Acc in PvP.  Switch to one Mocking Beratement Taunt/Range (very cheap).

2.  Weave gives more defense than Stealth.  I'd flip the slotting of those two.

3.  I'd seriously consider dropping the Impervious Skin in Tough for a Panacea proc in Health if affordable.

4.  Consume has to hit.  I'd replace the one recharge with an Acc or a endmod set Acc/x.

I personally would change a few things:

1) Take Frost, it's a great power.

2) Lose Mystic Flight in favor of Combat Jumping and Super Jump.

3) Lose Concealment, unless you're teaming with a specific set or players that don't have it, won't take it, and greatly need it.

4) Freezing Touch is an excellent hold/damage mitigation power and with any of the + hold magnitude procs can hold bosses. (could use it instead of GIS or IS)

5) I'd look at adding a slot (Oblitz) back to Burn and Frozen Aura, it will up your Melee Def by 7.5%.

6) Optionally add a slot to Blazing Aura and fit it with 6 Oblitz, for another 3.75% Melee Def.

7) Leave Taunt with the default slotting using the PSi proc from PZ, or slot it with four MB for additional Melee Def (2.5% (?)).

8) BoZs KB prtection could be added to CJ of SJ for additional KB protection (aiming for 12pts total, the min for Tanking, imo).

9) Whichever you didn't add the KB proc to, add the slow resist from Winter's Gift.

10) It looks like End won't be an issue, but, as previously recommended, I'd slot Consume with a multi aspect enh of some kind. Alternately, if you could find slots, you could put more Oblitz in their (6 would be another 3.75% Melee Def).

11) I'm not sure there's a big benefit to the 3 PFs in Stamina, might try it with PF End Mod, and +End proc, and one level 50 End Mod (this is optional depending your personal preference).

12) As previously recommended add some Def slotting for Weave.

13) Generally speaking you don't really need GIS and IS, as IS recharges faster than GIS, and delivers better activation vs damage than GIS. So, all GIS does is give a bigger "wack" at a slower rate (less efficient). But, I will admit it looks cooler and sometimes having that big wack of points is very satisfying. So... up to you really.

 

Personally I love the Mu Mastery on Tanks! Good job taking it and use it to your team's good health! ;)

Cauld and Boss you guys gave me some good advice and pointed out in the mistakes in my first build. I did a second build here and I have dropped IS, GIS Temp Protection, ROTP and Mystic Flight. I did 6 slot Burn, Blazing Aura, and Frozen Aura. I did put winter set of Avalanche in Blazing Aura I only did this to help on my end/stam until I get my t3 ageless up and running then after that I will put oblirt back in Blazing aura and the winter set of ava in frozen aura. This build to me seems alot better then my first. The only thing I could not do is put more slots into consume and i'm trying to find  one extra slot I can put into consume and have at least have two io's in it. Yes some powers and slots are outta of order, but I can fix later tonight.  I saw that I put two slots into ice patch. I fixed that problem now and consume has two slots

Hey Washuchan,

I see what you're doing and the build looks pretty good. Might want to try it as-is and see how you like it. Tweaks I would make at this point would be to pull 2 slots from Weave and 4 slot it with LotG 3+recharge proc). I'm not convinced that with the build as it is, you'll need Consume all the frequently, but might be nice for "Oh shucks" situations (remember to catalyze your winter sets for additional End Recovery), and I think you're good to go with End management. You could pull Consume, Put in IS and four slot it with Four Mako's. If it turns out that you need End, you can always respec back into it, and you'll have your four slots ready to go. Eventually you could slot with Blistering Cold, or Hecatomb later on.

 

I think at this point my suggestions are more what I would do, and not really required. Play the build and see what you think. I think you'll be happier with the higher Melee Def. Is your toon already 50, or are you still working it up to 50?

 

I just noticed you pulled Temp Protection, it does add 20% slow resist, so it worth keeping in your build. You can offset that a bit by using Winter-Os, but the power is less expensive than the sets. 🙂

 

Also, replacing TR proc in Health with Panacea's +HP/End (but we might be getting away from your targeted cost range).

My character is lvl 50 and at vet lvl 3 or 4 now. I was going to respec sometime on sunday night after I reached 700 inca threads in which I have now.  I will work more on that build later today before I respec and see how looks it on paper.  340-370 million I can do now. I might farm some more and get another 30 million to make it 400 million even for the build. I can drop the TR proc in health and get panacea proc now. Maybe the 4 slotting in weave will be okay and I can use 2 more slots in consume. Again thx for nice tips on the build.

That is a Global.  It doesn't matter whether or not the power is grayed out.  It only matters what level the IO is.  As long as you aren't more than 3 levels below the level of the IO, you have the effect/bonus, even if the power is unavailable.

Moving it to keep some of the resistance value it provides could be worth it, though.  That won't be much when the exemplar penalty shrinks it, so not much difference either way.

At the end of it all this is what  build I used and it costed me about 500-515million because of the winter sets, but I had most of the other io's saved up from other characters. The build is nice normal dps for a tank good res and good def. I took on the  4/8 fire farm she did very well and then a 4/8 s/l farm had some problems at first but I got my attack chain down for it I had no problems but just long fights. She was good on parton missions 2/8 but still had some problems with carns, malta.  Overall for a cheaper build its nice and good for most missions and farms. I decided to go back with sorc, and have fly mystic flight because of the theme of a character.
