Defensive Controller Archetype

I got an Idea of a defensive Controller Archetype called, "Apprehender"

 

Suggested starting HP: 99

Suggested base HP at 50: 1017.4

Suggested max HP Cap: 2088.3

 

Suggested primary powersets so far:

- Darkness Control

- Earth Control

- Electric Control

- Fire Control

- Gravity Control

- Ice Control

- Illusions Control

- Mind Control

- Plant Control

 

Suggested secondary powersets so far:

- Bio Armor

- Dark Armor

- Electric Armor

- Energy Aura

- Fiery Aura

- Ice Armor

- Invulnerability

- Ninjitsu

- Radiation Armor

- Regeneration

- Stone Armor

- Super Reflexes

- Willpower

I feel like this would need a very, very offensive inherit ability or damage mod in order to work with just control powers, or a sort of "control assault" where sets acted more like Grav/ with some offense thrown in to work.

 

Control/Def would be incredibly safe but slow given you can lock down enemies, and then anything not locked isnt too threatening. However, you need some offensive power to be able to solo.

I suppose the primary powersets could be a mix of control and melee then. In that case:

- Atomic Apprehension (Mix of Radiation Melee and Atomic Manipulation)

- Darkness Apprehension (Mix of Dark Melee and Control)

- Earth Apprehension (Mix of Stone Melee and Earth Control)

- Electric Apprehension (Mix of Electric Melee and Control)

- Fire Apprehension (Mix of Fire Melee and Control)

- Ice Apprehension (Mix of Ice Melee and Control)

- Medieval Apprehension (Mix of Broad Sword and Tactical Arrow)

- Military Apprehension (Mix of War Mace and Devices)

- Physics Apprehension (Mix of Kinetic Melee and Gravity Control)

- Psionic Apprehension (Mix of Psionic Melee and Mind Control)

- Savage Apprehension (Mix of Savage Melee and Plant Control)

This works much better! I had ideas about a melee-based control archetype some time ago but never really explored it, but it seems quite an interesting concept. It would have to be structured differently to Manipulation sets however.

 

As a note, I would probably put Spines/Thorns together with Plant Control, just like Plant Manipulation.
