Add "The" to Name?

So I forgot to select "The" when I created my character. I want to add it after the fact, and I know I can do it as a title, but the color is separate to my name. When my name changes color after joining a team, "the" doesn't change with it. Is there a way to fix that?

Try the rename tool on character selection screen.  Type in The and your name.  In my experience, The may disappear but it does show in-game.

I tried that but it tells me it's not a suitable name.

Trainers can change your title, which The/[none] is a part of, but I'm not sure if you can do that before level 15 (or whatever level it is you get to choose optional adjectives). I might be wrong about the level requirement, but I can't check right now as I'm at work.
