Savage Leap on Stalkers doesn't fire.

This power in general on Stalkers just flat-out doesn't work about 50% of the time.

I'm going to quote an old post I made about the Stalker Assassin's Strike bug here, because what's happening to me with Savage Leap is the same exact thing, but it happens far more frequently. More often than not the power doesn't fire off at all. It'll teleport you to the enemy, break hide, and do the animation, but the combat log shows nothing, no hit or miss, no damage, just aggro.
 

This is really frustrating and makes Savage Melee for Stalkers nearly unplayable, since the set-defining power is completely broken. When activating Savage Leap from hide, it almost never works. When using it while unhidden, it works maybe half of the time. It is virtually unusable in its current state and this seriously needs to be looked at.

I just tried this on my stalker and I am not missing that much. I think missed twice in 5 minutes of just spamming SL...this was against a pylon.  Need a better way to test this tho.

I am not sure why the difference in our results, I am puzzled.

I am running Regeneration as my secondary. My only toggles are Integration, Tough, and Hide. I have Fast Healing and Resilience as auto-powers. I don't have him kitted out with sets yet, so I've got very little global effects or procs that I could even imagine interfering and producing those results. I am not level 50 yet, so there's no Incarnate abilities active either.

I'm at the point where I'm considering respeccing out of it, because it never works. But then I feel worthless on teams because my main AoE power is not there.

It is IMO,the absolute gem of this powerset and I would say a must have. As you can see from my logs,at 50 with procs it is a monster attack. Even when Savage misses the procs hit.

We just need to figure out why it isn't working for you. I am sorry I can't give you an answer,hopefully someone smarter will come along and help.

I went and tested it some more, this time on grey-conning enemies.

Against level 1 mobs in Mercy, it hits a little more often, but it still misses maybe 1/4th of the time and does nothing. The attack isn't even firing off, because the mobs don't draw aggro to me, since I'm so high level. Normally if you miss a grey mob they'll attack, but it's not even registering as an attack.

Went to Crey's Folly, still conning grey, but a little higher level now. Starts to miss a lot more noticeably now, but still hits more often than even-con enemies.

I wish it worked. I really do. Aside from this one oddity with him, my Stalker is pretty fun to play. I ran a second build the other day, deciding to skip out on Savage Leap because of these issues, and I just felt like a really wimpy Stalker with no AoE.

Double posting, but I have an update.

I think I finally figured out what the cause of this is. Bought an enhancement unslotter and took out the level 50 Range IO from the power. Savage Leap is now behaving normally, doing damage and rolling tohit on targets. I am now hitting things far more reliably than before.

This can now be explained as a bug, where putting range enhancements into Savage Leap, as far as I can tell, causes the power to not fire off properly more than half the time. Either this should be fixed, or the power shouldn't be allowed to accept +range enhancements.
