After reading many build threads.

 

I finally got this character into a very happy place. Still, I am betting the forum hive mind will find room for improvement.

 

She hits like a truck, boss killer, solid AOE, good mezz protection, while providing very good team buffs.

 

She is the blapper I always wanted.

 

Pros:

Lots of rapid single target attacks

Very good AOE

85% psi resists

50% s/l resists

45+ melee/ranged/aoe defender with Mind Link

Enough stealth to be able to stand next to mobs, Mask Presence + Celerity Stealth

Can hold boss for quick bursts most of the time. Due to sacrificing some proc damage in Dominate for another hold proc.

Proc'ed tornado does decent damage with procs.

1400+ hp with accolades

Ex'emped down very well to level 15. Still decent at 14, but lose Mark Presence and Mind Link

Solos very well. I can do 4x8 PI radio missions. I prefer 4x4 just because it's faster.

The usual team buff benefits.

 

Cons:

Mind link not perma, depends on how tornado procs

Very expensive, several purple sets

End hog at 50 when firing everything. Ageless is necessary for soloing.

 

Notes:

Eats circle of thorns alive. I went afk for 2 mins with two 54 death mages. Barely a scratch.

Snacks on Carnies, they are weak to lethal, and council.

Arachnos are slow because the Mu mobs are nasty. I laugh at the psi attacks though.

I slotted into the final build, it's was decent without the purples. You really need the four accolades for hp and end.

 

Attack chains:

Close range: Stealth->Spin for the crits->Follow up->Psychic Wail->Spin or Tornado

At this point the minions are usually dead, as well as most or all of the lts.

Hold the bosses as needed, finish with single target claw and control-ranged attacks.

Without trying to get you to use Agility instead of Musculature (which would easily give you perma-hasten/perma Mind Link).

If you don't care about exemplar as much, I would probably just switch Subdue and Assault in the leveling path and switch Subdue for Gloom. Rarely resisted type (2nd after fire), little more damage, faster animating. Psi is shut down so hard later it would make sense to add a different type -- but again, depends on your exemplar plans.  I think you still have plenty of attacks, but mostly melee at that point if you exemplar.

Can I ask why the focus on going so deep in "Luck of the Gambler" sets? My own preference is to avoid the diminishing returns on Defense powers and shift those slots elsewhere. Just as a suggestion (as in the original build) Psychic Wail really ought to have 6 slots, as it is very proc-friendly. I know it's a heavy hitter by itself, but extra %damage procs turn it into a bigger nuke, in addition to adding non-psychic damage types to a PBAoE.

 

I personally like the 6-set bonus from Reactive Defenses, but I usually cap LoTG at 2 pieces (Global Recharge,Defense) ... occasionally 3 if I want a little extra something (End or Recharge). Mask Presence is also a good candidate for shedding slots, as the defensive bonus is reduced once engaged. (Full disclosure: this is usually where I 6-slot the Reactive Defenees, but my builds are often franken-slotting other powers)

 

Foresight is an Auto power that grants +Def to all positional defenses. There is no reason to not invest at least 1 extra slot for Defense here (beyond what the LotG Global is providing); an unboosted lvl 50 Defense piece can get you almost 2% more positional defenses, with ED just kicking in. You can stretch a little more positional defenses by boosting Defense IOs to 50+5, although I do like the extra HP from having two pieces of LotG.

 

I would also encourage you to consider this slotting for Mind Link: 1x Adjusted Targeting (Recharge), 2xLotG (Global Recharge, Defense/Recharge). I think any extra slotting (for x/Recharge) beyond this doesn't really help the recharge time of Mind Link. If you don't need to slot a LotG Global there, use Shield Wall pieces instead of LotG, which can be boosted to 50+5.

 

A few words about power choices:

 

I don't invest in the Fighting pool for Fortunata. Tough may be the most synergistic, but it's resistance (S/L only) isn't really that much (even considering potential set bonuses and Enhancements) and Fortunata have other powers that can slot the most useful Resistance Globals/Uniques.

 

Other candidate non-attack powers that give excellent 6-slot bonuses are either Aim or TT:Leadership using 6-pieces of the Gaussian's set. I prefer to have Aim 6-slotted this way. One a high-recharge character, Aim will be ready about every 20 seconds. The %Build Up will be at 90%, so for the first 5 seconds after Aim, you will also have the Build Up... and Aim lasts another 5 seconds... and then it is ready 10 seconds later. The 6th piece adds 2.5% positional defenses, which are perfect for a Fortunata (because generally the positional defenses will be much better than typed defenses). If you don't care about the set bonuses (or can't fit them) 2-slotting Aim with the %BuildUp and a lvl 50+5 recharge IO in Aim is almost as good.

 

TLDR: My own biases make me think too many slots are invested in (the wrong) Defense powers.

I didn't do any actual power switching, but I too would drop  tough (and kick) for Aim.

I think negative energy is also the most common type as an enemy weakness, as well, which people often overlook.

I have a T4 agility now. Just need the last purple set for a full test. Then I will respec into the new build with the thread's suggestions.

 

Side note, Carnies really are our nature prey. They are very weak lethal damage, our AOE defense blocks most of the death end drain. I have not once been mezzed while fighting them, and psi resist negate their strongest attacks. You should carry some accuracy insp as they have some nasty -tohit debuffs.

 

Final note,  I have bagged several level 51-52 AVs, Black Swan, Diabolique, Chimera, Mother Mayhem, and Marauder.  Marauder did send me to the hospital once, he was level 52 and I went half ready. I did use envenomed daggers to speed things up and had to pop a lot insps on a couple.

 

It's a very versatile character. Most fun ever!

Still tweaking but I made some changes due to thread advice.

 

Defense is better, recharge is more sane.

 

Bagged level 51 Nightstar, which I was expecting to be painful, but wasn't bad given my low energy resists and her resists.

 

51 Chronos Titan as a Monster, the mission version.

 

In the unlock the Alpha Oro arc, strangely Honree was painful. The Caption went first and quickly, but Honree two shot me once. I came back loaded for bear and got him, it still took a long time.

First, thanks to everyone's excellent feedback. I finally respec'ed.

 

OMG. A noticeable improvement over an already great build.

 

I can leap frog from 4x8 group to the next with aim->wail->ion->confuse->aoe confuse

 

Add Barracuda (bank), Bobcat, and Neuron to the AV list. I am soloing the Jenkins arc.

 

Has anyone tried soloing the ITF?
