I've been working on a few chars with builds I have got from some of you awesome people, but no matter how many chars I make I always rotate right back to Elec/Elec. So on an Elec Sent should I IO it for Procs or normally? I'm garbage at creating builds because I just don't know the sets enough but I could cobble one together from looking at other builds.

Does anyone know which way will give me the best damage, or have a proc'd out build they could share? Any budget is fine!

Thank you all in advance!

You should build it in the manner best suits your goals.  Damage may be one of those, but it probably isn't the only one.  Finding a balance is one way to do it.  Going entirely one way or the other is also valid.  You're also probably overthinking this.

I'd say, try not to obsess too much on procs here.  The best damage is generally consolidated into Psi Mastery for Dominate and Mind Probe.  Tesla Cage can also take on a lot of procs which can certainly increase its damage per activation.  Beyond this, your options for procs start to get limited.  Elec/Elec isn't much of a proc heavy build in my opinion.  It can certainly handle some slotting like it, but without Dominate/Mind Probe its options get limited.  That said, Electrical Blast is still pretty solid on Sentinels.  This is going to be true if you push what procs are available or just go for full sets.

Final thought.  Best damage requires pigeon-holing your character.  Is that what you want?  Best damage may cut down the time it takes you to complete a mission in a scale of seconds.  Is that little bit of time saved worth the possibility of breaking concept or removing some of your own choice in creativity?

Budget isn't the only cost here.  You may be giving up some defense for this and more importantly you're giving up choice if Psi Mastery doesn't mesh.

Those are all good points, and I'd say I would like the build to be able to solo as high of content as I can. So I'd say something with a good emphasis on both offense and defense. I am undecided on the epic pool yet, as I have seen several builds leaning different directions. Any of those that would fill the builds needs is fully ok since I dont think it would break the fully electric concept with just a passive or an attack.

Coming from my mostly Blaster background, I always end up getting too focused on damage. I wanted something a bit beefier but still had the flair of blasting. Sentinel seems like a great fit but try as I might I cant seem to get a good balance on the Off/Def.

Are the 2-3 AEs from /Mu worth it? Should I pick an epic with more defences? Should I stack Combat Jump and Hover if I want flying?

I am a million questions away from a char lol.

This is why it is a bit better to have the conversation first vs just showing a build.  If you're at a point of a million questions, then you probably can't really pin point an answer to "How much damage do you need?".  That's a real good way to start tossing solutions at a wall to hope it sticks without really understanding the impacts.  Art imitates life here too.

Most Sentinel builds should be capable of soloing +2/x8.  Several people push content harder than that even before finishing their Incarnates.  Electric Armor is a pretty good version of the set on Sentinels, but it is still mostly resistance-based on a low-ish HP AT.  So layering your mitigation is a good goal to build towards.  That right there may influence whether or not you go full sets vs procs.

On top of that you probably do want to stack defense powers outside of the secondary.  That's potentially more than just Combat Jumping or Hover (i.e., Tough/Weave, Maneuvers too).  Do note, the restrictions in the power Grounded as the protections there conflict with hover-blast gameplay.  Also, if you plan to fly mostly, then you're hopefully sticking to range.  That somewhat limits powers like Short Circuit or Thunder Strike (from Mu).

Are the AoEs in Mu worth it?  Depends, right?  Static Discharge requires two other powers.  Is it better than Ball Lightning?  No, and not by a long shot, but it could be a ranged replacement to Short Circuit if you wanted to go that route.  Electrifying Fences may be worth it if you want an AoE immobilize which is a feature that Blasters don't generally get.  Do you need +2/3 AoEs though?  Probably not.  You may end up only cycling 2 or 3 tops.  You're never going to beat a Blaster on AoE damage due to the innate target cap restrictions plus current damage disparity. So piling on more powers doesn't fix that problem, but it will create an issue with thinning out your slots.   If you really want an AoE Immobilize, then Electric Mastery grants Chain Fences which isn't a bad pick either.  Havoc Punch is pretty good for single target, and Lightning Field could be interesting if you want to be in melee.

Ok I have been fiddling with some of the builds and I am at a loss for certain slotting. Seems like I am way over cap on energy resist with the sets. I've never posted any builds but I will stick one I am messing with on here.

I think you've been too hard on yourself about crafting a build.   The above is certainly a reasonable place to start.

Quick ideas...

Thunderous Blast - change to 5 slots and consider slapping Ragnarok in there for the 10% global recharge.  That'll bump you up to 157.5% recharge.  You can also go with 2 +4's in Hasten as the +5's don't really get you a whole lot for the cost.

If you keep 6 slots in Short Circuit consider the Superior Avalanche set if you can afford it.  At a minimum go for the 5 slot which is a whopping 5% melee defense.  You'll get some more fire/cold resist too which is cute.  Alternative could be Obliteration 6 slot for all of its perks with a nice melee defense boost at 6 slots.

I'd consider at least 5 slots of Super Blistering Cold in Havoc Punch.  Again, pretty nice bonus for Smash/Lethal defense, but more importantly its pushing your Melee %.  Alternatively 5pc Hecatomb would be a minor damage increase.  Full 6 slots of Blistering Cold gets you more fire/cold defense which isn't too horrible.  Cold enemies are rare, but fire shows up.

You could dump the Devastation set in Zapping Bolt for Apocalypse for another 10% recharge and a decent bump in damage.

Tesla Cage could keep the Acc/Dmg, Dmg/End, and Acc/Dmg/End from Thunderstrike.  The other slots could add Unbreakable Constraint: Chance for Smashing Damage (purple proc!), Ghost Widow's Embrace: Chance for Psionic Damage, and Neuronic Shutdown: Chance for Psionic Damage.  Alternatives could be Gladiator's Net: Chance for Lethal, or Gladiator's Javelin: Chance for Toxic if you want to diversify the damage from psionic a bit.

Everything else would be me being super nitpicky about really minor changes here and there.  The above changes (additions in most cases) raise your Melee defense to 35% and your global recharge to 167.5%.  You're averaged ranged damage goes up with the above changes, but you're durable enough to be in melee range when you do it.  That means Short Circuit and Havoc Punch both can get some use.

Congrats, you've built a character that looks functional!

The Gaussian's proc in Tactics will artificially inflate damage numbers in the build above, but it is also a valid way to go.  Picking up Cardiac there doesn't hurt so much on damage because of the use of procs in Dominate and Tesla Cage (this is more for @Enku367's benefit than anything else).

Awesome I will make those changes and see how it rolls. If it is something that I think I may want to main I will work towards the much more expensive side of it.

Thank you all!

Okay so I took most of your ideas and added them here. Took one out of Thunderous and slotted 5 Rag in it. Added that one slot to Charged armor for more healing and Fire/Cold resist. I haven't added in Apocalypse yet cause I want to see how I'm liking the build before I go full expensive mode on the enhancements.

My only real question right now would be Static Shield. I'm not sure if the 2 piece of Titan Coating really helps me all that much since I am already way over energy resist. I'm not sure if I should keep it for the little bit of Neg En resist or should I go with a different set? I could use that single slot I put in Charge to go for a 3 set in it.

What do you think?
