Two Dollar Bill Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 I think I would soft-cap my defenses and then see how close to perma-pets I could come. Still, with your current emphasis on recharge, you could get a bit more AoE defense (and some damage resist) if you 5-slotted Fortification with Aegis. But where to come up with 2 more slots? - Does the Kismet +6% To-Hit IO really make a big difference on top of your already-substantial Accuracy bonuses? Especially given that it doesn't make your pet any more accurate? - Is 8 points of knockback protection really hugely better than 4 points, especially when your pets are doing a lot of your DPS? Perhaps you could lose that Steadfast Protection: Knockback Protection?
tidge Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 (edited) I'm curious to read if anyone has tried alternating the Soulbound Allegiance %Build Up proc between the 3 Lil' pets and the 1 Big pet? I have always included in the lower level pets, with the assumption being that they "need it more". I often see more than one of them with the %Build Up icon in their buffs. EDIT: we had some discussion about this a while back. You can see in the linked thread that I also put the Overwhelming Force KB->KD piece in the Lil' pets, so to increase their contribution to the madness. Edited October 19, 2020 by tidge
Meknomancer Posted October 20, 2020 Author Posted October 20, 2020 Your right about the kb protection thats supposed to be a winters gift in superspeed. The kismet is essential i run a lot of low lvl stuff and ourob missions when i dont have any pets and all my damage has to come from me. I could bump the aoe defence by dropping the pet resist pieces i'm not sure they are necessary and i'm considering switching back to musculature alpha although it would mean losing the defence the ff+rech fires off often enough to keep pets perma. Most of the time i'm running about dropping venom nade, frag nade, suppression and that takes care of all the mobs minions in low lvl content. Without agility i have to run hover to get close to 45% ranged and with nothing but a lotg in the speed of it is painfully slow i only took it as a mule. Theres so many options for a soldier/crab/bane i respec regularly to try new stuff but i haven't yet tested soulbound proc in any other pets i just threw it in there, the slot was originally intended for a standard rech io or an acc/rech piece from expedite. All feedback is appreciated i'm always looking to make it a little better its easily 1 of my top 5 most played alts running 3 builds depending on what playstyle i feel like. I've tried tanky melee no pets, hover fly pet blaster, 1 build is pure soldier. No matter how many time i look at mids i always seem to find something new to try on this AT.
Two Dollar Bill Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 My own crab is designed to exemplar, though I do it by having all my IOs attuned so that I still have more-or-less full set bonuses down to level 17. Back on live when my Crab had pets, I only had the Disruptors and the Blaster, and they were not perma. The Spiderlings were often killed so quickly that I didn't feel I was getting my money's worth.
