Nalerenn Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 One of the big problems I'm finding with this setup is endurance. I tend to gas out quite quick when using finishers, so I find myself wondering on how best to improve... First thought is going for 3-IO slotted Stamina, but I'm not sure how much the diminishing returns will hit it. MIDS says two at 50 will just hit the ED dropoff, but I don't know how that's changed for i25... Second is slotting endurance reduction into powers. Self-explanatory really, but I always feel they're better spent snagging set bonuses. Relatedly, I'm not sure which sets to go for here, so advice would be appreciated. How would you guys build this sort of toon? I'm a rank novice at this (Plus it has been seven years), but I'm curious to see your builds, or just hear tips from people.
Generator Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Hmm, I had a Scrapper version of this back in the day. He wasn't IO'ed out, I might not have even gotten him to 50 (might have been "only" the 40s) but I remember him as being very capable. No real problem with end. If I remember later, I'll try and dig up his Mids build. If I've still got it, I'll post it. EDIT: Hey, I've still got it! I think most of this was just "wish listing" for this guy, so take the IOs with a grain of salt. Nalerenn Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 That looks like a good build, but I'm not exactly an expert on these kinds of things. That said, it does seem to lack a Taunt, so something would have to be swapped out for it. Someone, I forget who, posted a build I took a note of and was working towards, but their post seems to have disappeared. Here's the build they shared, though, what do you think? Generator Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Hmm, you're absolutely right about AEGIS's lack of a taunt, that's one obvious difference between playing as a Scrapper vs as a Tanker. I'm not sure what I'd take out to make the choice of Taunt, but I'm sure it could be done. The other thing is, if you took all of those powers, and all of those sets, and put them on a Tanker version of my build, it would probably be some ridiculous amount over the softcap value. So don't overbuild. As for your own build, I'd have to open it in Mids/Pine proper to really get a feel for it. The post shows it having a datalink, I'll check it out tonight.
Nalerenn Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 No worries. I went through and fixed up a data link proper for you, though also made a few minor tweaks where things didn't seem to make sense to me (ie, Phalanx Fighting having recharge speed reduction despite being a toggle)
Lanessar Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Just have to say as a level 22 SD/SJ tank, endurance is definitely a problem. So much so, that toggle-juggling is becoming a norm. I have Stamina slotted with two Level 25 EndMod IOs, and fighting with more than three toggles (generally run DEF/BA/Cover in groups, and sub out AAO instead of cover when running solo, plus Combat jumping) has me popping blues as if I were an SS tank. I'm not driving toward max level with this character, but I cannot imagine running tough/weave with this build as it stands, even with fully slotted IOs in Stamina. Edit: I've slotted a third EndMod as well as one EndRed in each of the toggles, and the stamina drain is a bit more manageable.
