New (First time ever) DB/EA scrapper looking for advice

I don't remember if there was DB on Live (I'm old and my memory is not so good) but i've read a few things on the forum and it seems like it would be fun. I have a concept already done and is just starting out. (One-Leg Peg, a pirate if you hadn't guessed). I took Nimble Slash at level 1 but I'm not sure where to go from here. Any advice on powers and builds is greatly appreciated. Influence is not an issue. Thanks

Some advice for that first 1-50 climb, the Kinetic Barrier Temp power from P2W stacks nicely with EA's Type defenses as a nice, cheap boost to get to the softcap when you need it.
