Heraclea Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 You will notice that I've capped all the IOs at 40 and gone out of my way to pick up useful sets that go no further than 40. This is deliberate. Actually, set bonuses won't be a high priority for this character. Her goal is to be a task force merit farmer, running stuff like Synapse, Citadel, Numina, and the Striga TFs for merits that will be used mostly to buy stuff that other characters need, and as a source for lowbie salvage and recipe drops that are likewise probably going to others first. I don't really consider Regen a very good fit for Incarnate levels or endgame content. I may just turn off XP at 40 and go for the money, except that level 50 makes that much more. Sets like Shields, Reflexes, and Willpower are much better adapted to the endgame IMO. But Regen s an absolute joy to play in lower levels, so I stick with what works here. MunkiLord Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I'm at work so I can't look at the build at the moment, but have you considered /SR? You can soft cap early with sets and it's a blast at that level. The Trevor Project
Heraclea Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 I'm at work so I can't look at the build at the moment, but have you considered /SR? You can soft cap early with sets and it's a blast at that level. I'm sure I will probably get around to remaking my Dark/SR scrapper. The original was my AE baby, levelled mostly in AE content; that isn't an attractive proposition right now. Fighting custom mobs meant being unhittable was at a premium. But this character is already 24-ish and I enjoyed this combination back then, just have to know its limits. This is a pure DPS scrapper. jack_nomind Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I'm a bit confused; why not just use lower-level versions of the higher-level sets? If you used the enhancements exactly as-listed your e.g. Kismet unique would stop working when exemp'd below 27. A few more points of confusion: I'm confused about Invisibility here in general. Invisibility does nothing for you at all with Stealth and the +Stealth unique in this build. You're also calculating Defense with it toggled on, but it won't actually ever apply to "normal" combat. At level 50, your "actual" defense in-combat is something like 32.5% s/l (which is a good number, one insp away from softcap) but everything else is much lower. Your Defense and Resist stacking is scattered over the entire level range. Wouldn't it be better to get either all the Defense powers or all the Resist powers in by some breakpoint, say 20 or 25, and then switch to the other? Resilience makes you immune to Wakie stuns and gives you a solid base when using +res temps or insps, but you put it off until your final level? Why Fly over TP/Recall Friend, the gold standard of tf farming? (faster cross-zone, easier mission cheesing) 5/6 Gaussian? I'm presenting these as questions/points of confusion rather than directly as critiques because it's been quite a long time since I made a build for exemplaring (IIRC some kind of /SD). So I might be mis-remembering how something works in that environment, or not understanding a build goal here. If I'm not -- then yeah, I think these are points to be addressed for this kind of build. No-Set Builds: Tanker Scrapper Brute Stalker
Heraclea Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 I never took TP because I am unable to use it, and Fly is a part of the character concept. I understand that the new Sorcery Fly is supposed to fix the problem with teleport; maybe I should look into that. Stealth and Invisibility are for soloing when I'm not running task forces on the character, mostly. When I get the inf I may buy the team teleport power. Andferne Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I am new to fire melee and thinking of decking one out. What are some of the optimal attack chains to run? I've heard of people running enough recharge to just run the fire sword attacks. Would that approach be missing out on something. The world still needs Heroes

I plan on taking just about everything, but the Fire Sword attacks and Cremate are your bread and butter, especially on a team.
