Back in the days of Ultima Online, it's still running by the way, they had a Siege Perilous server.

It was a high difficultly server, resources were scare or expensive. Skill gain was slow past a point.

 

While not changing any major mechanics. What would you change to make the server very challenging? 

 

Some ideas:

Disable incarnates or limit level shift to only +1

Make all enhancement much more expensive to buy

Make SG prestige needed again


The problem is, you're asking the GMs to essentially maintain TWO server platforms.

As a thought experiment, okay.

As something they should implement?

Who's paying for it?

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

Probably so few people would play that one of the devs could run it on their laptop for free. 🙂

 

Just a thought experiment, since some folks were complaining the game was too easy.

While laptops are more capable than ever, a server isn't the sort of load you want any appreciable number of people on.

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.
