Looking for Feedback on a Katana/Fire Build

Well, I got my Savage/Shield brute up to tier 4 incarnates, so it's time for a new brute.  I'm looking for feedback on this Katana/Fire brute that I made.  He's a blend of my two favourite characters from the original game - a fire/fire tanker and a katana/regen scrapper.  He's not intended as a farmer (since I find it really boring).  How does it look?  Divine Avalanche + Capped Melee defence seems redundant somehow? I hope I have the basic build theory correct:

Think of it less as redundant than being able to not used Divine Avalanche in your rotation unless you come up against opponents who debuff Defense. 

 

Not sure if it is a worthwhile difference but for the cost of 4% Smashing/Lethal Resistance you could save yourself the cost of the Superior Blistering Cold set in exchange for an Obliteration set in Divine Avalanche, gain another 1.25% Melee Defense, and 5% Recharge.

Change out Rise of the Phoneix, Firey Embrace can off set lethal damage when you hit resistant mobs.
