Build Advice Inv/TW Generalist

Hello everyone!

 

I have not been on Homecoming in a while (pre tanker changes, TW changes, power proliferation etc.) and have been curious as to the changes and want to come back as a tanker after making multiple scrapper/stalkers originally.

 

I'm working on an Inv/TW build to solo +4x8 endgame content and function in teams without swapping between a solo setup and group setup but I'm running into a few problems after racking my brain trying to figure out how to make it work.

 

In order of importance:

1.  My global recharge is not high enough to sustain perma-hasten (even with ageless) while frankenslotting my attacks for procs/desired set bonuses to push resists close to cap.  After changes, does TW do enough damage to forego proccing and chase full sets to achieve perma-haste?  Currently, I cannot sustain an attack chain in the golden window for momentum.  Trying to figure out how to balance this between playable, dealing decent damage, and remaining incredibly tanky in solo content.

2.  In the new content, is chasing 70+% resist and 45% def softcap worth it?  What does incoming damage look like and have I shot myself in the foot making myself TOO tanky for the content while nerfing my damage?  Also on the subject of new content, 90% of the time I played before it was an AoE fest which is why I put my baseline at 5 targets surrounding for the sliding scale powers.  I don't plan on soloing AVs with this but I also want to make sure I'm survivable ST if that's what new content is geared towards.

3.  I know TW is pretty end hungry but I did overkill?  I don't want to be required to carry blues but between procs and natural recov I might have overthought this topic.

4.  Although this is an end-game focused build I want the option to exemp down and have not taken many of the early attacks.  This is something I largely ignored previously in favor of doing wacky things like solo farming AVs on stalkers.  Any advice on exemp-ability for this setup?

 

As a sidenote, I have a few billion inf saved from the last time I played so cost is not an issue.

I have a Rad/TW build and I have a few thoughts.  First of all, I haven't tried making a "Proc Tanker" like most people recommend so I can't speak to that, what I can speak to is Titan Weapons don't do the damage they used to , so soloing +4x8 is going to be slow.  I do find it odd that you didn't take taunt.  Sure, you will be mostly solo and a good tank doesn't need taunt, but it just comes in handy when playing with a team since someone will always need rescuing.  You can ditch hover and fly for a skiff from the p2w vendor and pick up Assault for a 10% attack buff and Tactics for the +ToHit.  They're so worth it and with 3 slots in Stamina and Ageless maxed out you shouldn't be worried about End.

I don't know how Invul works out but I can say that my Rad/TW is pretty much unkillable and I still wouldn't try and solo +4x8.  If you are super duper tanky but just don't have the DPS you're looking for, rebuild it as a Brute and tell me how that goes.

Couple things.  1 the arcs in TW are all locked so you won't gain the benefit of the Tanker AoE stuff.  Personally I also don't like being required to take Defensive Sweep.  Because of those things i prefer TW on a Brute or Scrapper myself.  That said...

 

Far as the recharge goes, look at slotting the Force Feedback proc wherever you can.  Follow Through, Arc of Destruction, and Titan Sweep I think?  

 

I would certainly expect that between primary powers, Tough, and the Tanker proc you should easily be hitting the 70% res to S/L though I admit I haven't looked at Inv in ages.  Getting up to 90% is usually the bigger challenge.
