The sound is slower than the animation. I believe the loading rumbling sound should be shortened and the secondary sound effect to match the visual effect of the FX.

As opposed to, IIRC, Neutron Bomb, where you hold the glowing ball up over your head, then lob it at your target, and they take damage while the ball is still flying toward them. There are several odd timing quirks in the game.

This one drove me crazy. I used Short Circuit to check my audio sync, and I actually thought my system audio was borked. But, no, it's just Homecoming.

 

Public i26 VM v.3 - slow animation, slow sound, synced

Everlasting (i27p6) - fast animation, slow sound, desynced

Test Server (i27p7) - fast animation, slow sound, desynced
 

Given the date of this bug report (2022), and the absence of the bug in the public VM (2019), the likely cause is the Issue 27 Page 3 patch (2021). That patch shortened the time for Short Circuit to do damage, and sped up the animation, but didn't change the sound, resulting in desync.

To be honest, I really didn't like the powers in the game being sped up. I understand for dps and survivability purposes, but It removes the cool factor of preparing and activation of powers. For example, the L9 power of Electric Blast where you look at both hands before shooting. I love that.
