Heya folks,

 

I've started thinking of a Staff poking Bio armor brutus. I've placed the skills in the order i think would work but for the bubbles i could realy need some help here, how many bubbles go where and what to slot with.

 

I like 2 weeks game time into the game and i know there are some solid experts out here that could maybe assist me with my little project  ::)

Just a drive by - Im not sure your going to find yourself needing the +REC/+REGEN out of physical perfection - those small bonuses are going to vanish compared to leveraging a full Parasitic Aura siphon - maybe if you plan on standing 1v1 with AVs and Pylons it might help?

 

Also, focused accuracy - once your wearing IO Bonuses across the board and the high inborn accuracy of fully slotted attacks, Im not sure youll need the bonus much at all - maybe the rare enemy that triggers a T9 Defense?  Crowds of Force Fields?  PvP?

 

Youve already got one ranged attack.  A second might take you into having a decent ranged attack cycle (which is unecessary, but great fun).

 

Let me try this build... drops the energy epic for gloom (ranged, great single target DPA) and Superjump (so you have one travel power, and because SJ is soooo much fun...)

 

Probably a bit over-defended, but you can switch agility for musculature, or group your ATOs back up for recharge rather than splitting superior brutes fury to double-dip the Smash/Lethal Bonus. S/L isnt -capped-, but Defensive should get you most of the way there, or again, you can juggle some bonuses and sacrifice elsewhere - Ive found that at endgame, whatever killed me, it probalby wasnt smashing/lethal damage.

Please tweak to fit your needs - this isnt an 'Ive lived with this set for months and years' or even a 'I spent a week theorycrafting' build, its a literal driveby and hotswap from my Spines/Bio - Im sure the real build technicians can do better.  But thank you.

 

Also note - I think there is an unavoidable redraw animation with staff, so it may not give the same value it gives sets that lack the redraw lag.  Heck, even with Spines, I -feel- like I'm losing time to pop the spines back out, even if Im told that the animation just plays faster to make up for it.

This seems to be the best all-in Staff/Bio build on the forums. I play one pretty regularly and, even after weeks and a couple respecs, I still can't tell what Bio armor is doing most of the time.

I had a Staff/Bio Brute back in the day whose build was on a PC that I need to try and recover data from. Sadly I didn't put my builds in the cloud. Not sure what I was thinking by only putting the numbers in Google Drive, but here they go. I may try to recreate it in Mids as I run a lot of Bio toons and the slotting is easily adapted:
