As a Sentinel, should I be going for a ranged or melee defense cap?

Really want to make a Rad/Rad Sentinel. Doing my research, I have found two builds that are pretty different. One has a capped ranged defense with electron haze and neutron bomb, with lower overall resists, while the other focuses on capped melee defense, with higher resists, but at the cost of neutron bomb and electron haze. Which one should I go with?

I think it will depend on your playstyle, where are you planning on positioning yourself? on mine, I have fiery aura, but I'm at range 80% of the time. that being said, I'm only ~ 50% on most resists and ~27% ranged DEF, relying on my self heal

Radiation Armor is a resist set, you'll want to resist cap first, THEN add defense.  At that point you have to decide on MRA or SLEFC type of defense, in general SLEFC is easier to obtain.  Then you have to decide if you want to full SLEFC and/or add NTP, or just so SL or SLE.   SL is by far the easiest to obtain, and SL is by far the most incoming damage.  E, particularly in incarnate content is the next highest incoming damage.  If you go SL or SLE you can also supplement with temps like  Kinetic Dampeners which are relatively cheap, and then shift some of the SL defense resources to EFC and/or NTP instead.

If for whatever reason you still prefer MRA type defenses, then you'll have to decide if you are fighting primarily on the ground and in melee, or fighting either Hover-Tank or far to the rear at max range to avoid melee.  Then you put resources into your playstyle preference.  I really don't recommend this direction as it 'usually' (but not always) yields lower results.

AE 801 (link) is a variety of missions for fun and challenge, and is designed for a team of 5+ Incarnates.  Just search '801' in AE.

     801 Difficulty Varies: 801.0 Easy, ..., 801.2 Standard*, ..., 801.5 Moderate**, ..., 801.6 Hard***, ..., 801.7 Four Star****, ... 801.F Death.

I may be AFK IRL, But CoH is my Forever Home.

Here's the build for my Rad/Rad. I have reasonably high resists, moderate defense and perma Particle Shielding. I find it to be very sturdy.
