Build inspirations for Seismic / ?

Hi everybody,

as a casual player I want to start my next toon in some days. I really like seismic blast and have a mutant character in mind that draws upon natures powers. So my question is, what secondary would fit into the theme and works with seismic blast. I mostly play solo and pug task forces, so a mix of solo and light team play.

I  would like to play a corruptor and have /thermal, /nature in mind so far as secondary for the nature theme. Now I got no experience with that and how they would work with the seismic pressure mechanic.

I would appreciate any hints and insights concerning mechanics, power choices and gameplay, as well as ideas to synergies with other theme-fitting secondaries.

I've got a Nature/Seismic defender and really enjoy it. Nature is a really strong set and all the buffs affect the caster. Skippable powers are Lifegiving Spores and Rebirth. I happen to like Entangling Aura, but it requires you to be in melee range. Seismic Pressure is useful, but not sure that there's any particular synergy between it any of the secondaries.

 

For solo play, Thermal is a poor choice - 6 of the 9 powers are ally buffs that don't affect the caster.

Thanks Uun for sharing your experience. I read about seismic pressure that it needs an active playstyle, using seismic powers often. I read the same about nature affinity. So I asked me if they would work together.

Good point on thermal being more group oriented.

If you're going to solo, I would pick Time or Nature. Time makes it easy to cap defense and provides enemy debuffs, while Nature gives you +resist, +absorb and +regen as well as solid enemy debuffs. Kinetics has great damage buffs and a strong heal, but few buffs or debuffs that will keep you alive.

Great, thanks a lot everybody. I decided to go time because of visuals and it fits the seismic waves/gravity theme well (slowing as gravity manipulation etc.).

Geo Wave just recently arrived in Paragon City to support the heroic cause of defending the city.

 

Since I never got deep into the support sets (played mostly melees) what powers are important in time manipulation?

Time Crawl: ST -rech/-regen/-speed. No choice. Doesn't do much on its own, but it triggers additional debuffs on other powers. Fine with 1 acc in base slot.

Temporal Mending: PBAOE heal. Must take.

Time's Juncture: PBAOE -tohit/-dmg/-speed toggle. Must take.

Temporal Selection: ST ally dmg/rech/regen buff. Also improves buffs from Temporal Mending and Chrono Shift. Skippable or fine with base slot.

Distortion Field: AOE -rech/-speed. Skippable or fine with 1-2 slots. Can also be used as prob bomb.

Time Stop: ST hold/-regen. Skippable. If you use Time Crawl first, Time Stop will hold a boss.

Farsight: PBAOE +def/+tohit/+per. Must take. You will want an Epic that includes Power Boost or Power Build Up, which will allow Farsight to cap defense.

Slowed Response: AOE -res/-def. Must take.

Chrono Shift: PBAOE +rech/+rec/heal/+end. Must take.

Great summary, thanks again. Gives me a better idea about what to take. Reading the wiki is one thing, judging the usefulness another.

 

Having fun so far with this combo. Soloing is fine, as well as feeling supportive in group settings.
