Good morrow, fair heroes. I really like the way these sets look together, but I'm having a hard time balancing the enhancement slots. I'm trying to focus on the ranged abilities, and don't prefer the melee aspects of the sets. 

 

Has anyone tested with this powerset combo and have a build they could share? 🙂

Until (unless) Mids is updated, you likely aren't going to see any builds posted for Illusion/anything for Dom's.  No way to create/share one easily.

 

My suggestion is go search for Dark/Psi builds for Dom's.  Dark and Ill share similar powers from a slotting perspective.  You can also hop over to the Controller forums and look at any number of Illusion builds for inspirations.

Totally ignore what I just said.  Mids Reborn just updated today and you can build an Ill/Psi or any other Ill/* Dominator now with new build.

You have no choice but to melee for at least drain psyche and psy shockwave, those 2 aren't powers you can skip and get away with. Your force picked into a t1 ranged blast that does almost 0 damage and pre page 5 would get taken and left unslotted in most builds or mind probe which is a useful hard hitter and takes good sets but again requires melee'ing. Or you can simply use it as a mule for a recharge bonus. If the plan is to stay purely at ranged and only go in for DP and PS something like this will get you 45% ranged with perma hasten+PA (once you boost the PA pieces) and leave alpha options open for whatever (musculature/intuition etc). Quite a few power picks taken just to mule pieces or because they had to be picked to get the next power in the set. Hitting link minds (which isn't perma and indom will0 before jumping into the mob should be enough, wish there were more slots, i'd like to throw in the preventetive proc somewhere, it could go into health instead of the miracle/numi/whatever:

Sorry i disagree. Phantom is a big part of your DPS for skipping due the reason you mentioned which is also questionable.  Controllers may keep pets healing due secondary, but dominators have better  tools to suppress incoming damage as sleeps. holds, inmobs etc with permadom. 

 

So you can "keep your pets alive" if you do your permadom control job right. 

 

In my opinion to have Illusion control without Phantom is big mistake.

I agree that builds could be in many flavors but if you are talking about a SOLID build, you want to take Phantom for the reasons i mentioned above. Otherwise you are not aiming for the maximum dps that Illusion can provide. But you are right... there is not must... only suggestions.
