quixoteprog
I was in Brickstown last night and was given a mission to hunt down 35 council in the zone. I was running an Illusion/Rad controller and there were several times when I came upon a group of mobs began a fight and all of my pets just ignored the angry council guys attacking me and just stood around until I had killed them all myself. I also got the hunt 35 Council members a couple times in a row, from the same contact, but not sure if that it really a bug.
Healix
Wow, I had the same thing happen with my pet. I was wailing on the Council and my pet was just standing there...I was thinking 'DO something! What the HECK' As far as having the kill 35 thing twice in a row, I think that's WAI. Forever grateful to be back in my city!
Erydanus
Just a random thought if your pets seem to not see the foes right there try the /sync command and also see if any buffs you are emanating are showing on their bars. I don't know if sync will affect pets, but it sounds like the pets were not perceiving the foes that you were engaged with and one possible reason for this is if the server thought the pets were at Point A and you were at Point B. I've always been suspicious about this game's data location structure being a bit off or easily fooled since I had a weird glitch happen playing on the original servers. A friend of mine was playing a tank and I was on a controller and we were on that outdoor map which is a burning forest and it was filled with Malta. We were far away from any mobs and I suddenly got shot with missiles from multiple Hercules Class Titans approx 300 yards away. They were literally aggroing me and shooting from the far side of the map. They didn't come running but they kept shooting missiles at me. Why? Because apparently the server thought I was over THERE. Suspiciously, the /sync command was added a few weeks after that after several people reported weird bugs ranging from "I can't interact with this object" to "I can't attack the foe right in front of me" to stuff like mine. I think some lag basically corrupted the positioning data. Anyway it's a theory, give it a try! See me on Excelsior as Eridanus - Whisperkill - Kid Physics - Ranger Wilde - The Hometown Scrapper - Firewatch - and more!
quixoteprog
I think I may have a line on what is causing the problem. And also why another issue I noticed but thought might just be my misunderstanding of the mission parameters. While running around hunting council in Bricktown I noticed the counter did not tic down every time I took one out. Sometimes it would, but not always. Tonight, while doing another council hunting mission in Founder's Falls, I noticed that there was a mixture of mobs with the same uniforms and titles but some with the faction "Council" while others had the faction "5th Column", a name I had not seen since I started playing the game shortly after release. (I think 5th C was removed from the game waaay back shortly after release because they were based upon the Nazi's and NCsoft wanted to sell the game in Germany and all references to Nazi's and their symbols are forbidden by law.) While I have no problem with 5th column myself, as bad guys to whip, since Nazi's have always been great villains to beat on in stories of all types, but having mobs from an unrecognized factions could cause some anomalous behavior. I actually saw some members of the same spawn fighting one another, some from Council and others 5th C. Just a thought. Oh, and thanks for the game. Have enjoyed my time back quite a bit.
