I am attempting to complete the Stop Amanda Gates mission. The mission is started at Mercedes Sheldon in the Midnighters Club. The problem is that when Amanda Gates is found on the 4th floor of the building she follows really slow and when using the elevator from floor 4 to floor 3 when she arrives she just ghosts away and runs off screen.

I am doing the mission solo. My powers are Dominator and Dark Miasma, I have an army of minions and I am not sure if that is causing the NPC Amanda Gates to freak out when she transitions to the 3rd floor or what. I've done this mission twice and it's resulted in her ghosting away when arriving on the 3rd floor elevator.

**Update**

I dismissed all my minions and used the elevator again until Amanda Gates returned. On some of the subsequent floors she would ghost away again and I had to use the elevator a couple times for her to show up again.  I was able to get her to the first floor just in time for the server maintenance so will have to try again.

On another note her follow speed and distance is terrible. After just a couple steps she will stop and call for help refusing to follow until the player gets close enough to her to re-establish the following mechanic.

While I generally agree with this sentiment and would like escorts to follow better, it makes sense for Amanda to be this way. Seemingly more so than other unwilling escortees, she is doing her best to get away from you. However, if you treat her like the typical dumb escortee and watch her on your map to make sure she is staying with you and move slow enough for the no inherent Fitness NPCs to follow, getting her to the exit isn't difficult. (Just annoying.)

This tends to happen with escort NPCs on maps with elevators. Since the elevators are so far apart, you have to wait when the game has you exit until the escortee shows up. If you move away from the elevator too soon, they lose lock because of the distance between the floor maps of the instance. MMs complicate this with their pets. If a pet blocks the escortee from being able to exit, they return to the previous floor and lose you. An elevator bug that also shows up from time to time is when the elevators close before the NPC exits, forcing them to go back to the previous floor. This can result in the NPC being lost between floor maps, at neither floor, until they finally manage to exit the elevator. My recommendation is to always wait at the elevator, shifting out of the way of the exit if playing a MM, and wait for the NPC to figure it out.

You say your a domi with dark?  Are you running it with illusion primary or do you have the stealth pool? Or maybe sprint slotted with a celerity proc. When i read an army of minons i assume illusion and therefore your running superior invis. Turn that off.

Thank you for the feedback. I never really considered the fact that she's being arrested and would therefore be less willing to be escorted out. More just the overall mechanic of following, even if being arrested I should be able to walk normally, which is what I was doing, and have the NPC mostly keep up. Was irritating that she'd follow 2-3 steps, stop, and ask for help.  I finally got the quest completed took some patience to get her down all 4 floors, dismissed all minions, entering and exiting the elevators until she caught up with me.

As for my build I'm MM (Necro) / DM. I figured the pets got in the way a bunch and that didnt help with the following at all. No idea why I said dominator, that's an entirely different power set.

Thank you again.
