Shadowstar Posted February 14 Posted February 14 The idea is simple: instead of rest, Sentinel gets Siege Mode, which works the same as rest except that they don't get the vulnerability and can effect others. Obviously, it would not have the rest animation. They are still immobilized, so they can't move, but would function as a kind of turret. The healing and end recovery would be less than rest, but rapid enough to make them pretty strong in that mode. Perhaps their primaries and secondaries could have additional effects that interact with Siege Mode. It could be balanced via recharge rate, heal rate, and recovery rate.
Force Redux Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I'd rather my sentinels kept their mobility with no tradeoffs. They are well balanced now. 1 @Force Redux on Everlasting ----- (read my guide) ----- Gather the Shadows: A Dark Miasma Primer for Masterminds
Rudra Posted February 14 Posted February 14 No. Rest is an inherent power shared by all ATs. And if Sentinels were allowed to replace Rest with a combat version, then all the ATs would get that version because it is a shared inherent. The point of Rest isn't to be used in combat and you have all those vulnerabilities to dissuade you from attempting it in combat. That's why there are powers like Hibernate. While only in the Ice sets I believe, those are the powers that let you recover in combat without a heal. 3
Cyclone Jack Posted February 14 Posted February 14 One thing to remember is that Rest had a 3 minute recharge on Live and, as has been pointed out, is a shared power across all ATs. The recharge was removed on the private servers as a form of QoL, but the power was never designed to be used whenever you wanted.
