Captain Fabulous
I just had a Windows Update for .NET 6.0.28 for x64 install itself, and afterwards the HC Launcher would no longer run (missing DLL blah blah blah). Downloaded this to fix it, and all is well. So if anyone else has this issue, this is how you fix it.https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
Game Master GM Tock Posted March 16 Game Master Share Posted March 16 Unless my notes are incorrect, .NET is no longer needed for either HC Launcher or the client. Whatever happened, it wasn't that update. Visual C++ Runtime is right on the money: that is needed to run the game. Homecoming: City of Heroes -- Want to play? Start here. - Enjoy helping others? The only other things I updated were Intel wifi/bluetooth drivers. I guess it's possible one of them was the culprit. 🤷♀️
Game Master GM Tock Posted March 16 Game Master Share Posted March 16 I believed you when you said a missing DLL prevented HC Launcher from working. The Visual C++ Runtime that you linked above may have needed updated, like you did. 1 Homecoming: City of Heroes -- Want to play? Start here. - Enjoy helping others? Join us as a GM.
