If Pets are this bad, what is the point of Masterminds?

I found them to be very troublesome to play on speed/expedited TF/SF runs, since the Henchmen usually get shredded by the groups we pass through when going for the back end of the mission map for Boss Defeats, having to waste 10+ seconds to resummon and buff them again while everyone's already underway to the next mission.

Eventually I didn't even bother with it anymore unless it would be one with a kill-all objective.

It ... does not feel good only being able to use 2-3 abilities from your complete power roster while half of your powerset is obsolete because its not made with speedrunning in mind.

ive found some useful info on this thread, but is there a "guide book" post for MM?  i really enjoy my bots/ele mm, but i constantly feel like im not doing things right.  so id love to read someting along those lines. and i dont see a sticky post for such a thing.

Probably the best primer - so go there first.

Short and very worth looking at.

Also well worth a read.

Has a lot of questionable advice and bad suggestions; IMO one to take with a big pinch of salt.

Wordy and has a few now-out-of-date ideas about Mercs, but some good information on pet management and tactics nonetheless.

Ultimately there's a lot of advice out there, but I'll reiterate what I said a few months back in a similar thread:
Above all else... be sure to get yourself a solid set of keybinds 🙂

Turn down the difficulty. Despite what many of the people in this forum believe, it's ok if you aren't soloing at +4/x8.

i was going to respond to this with some silly jokes, it’s a really good point that needs to be said more often

i find +2 is the sweet spot pre-50 and around +3 for a kill most ITF. if i want challenge i’ll put a TF on +2 enemies buffed

as peregrine says, it’s okay to lower the diff and enjoy the game rather than it feeling like a slog

@Maelwys the last guide you posted was easily the best one.  especially with its limit on key binds, which i dont want.  in depth, but not terribly long in explaining why theyre saying.  but all the links have some stuff.  thanks.
