Ongoing mail error

I guess this isn't a "bug", per se, but I have lately been getting the following error:

 

 

(There are outstanding pending global email transactions. Please wait a minute and try again.)

 

I get this both when sending and retrieving items mailed to myself. When sending, the error appears in a popup window; when retrieving, it appears in the chat window as shown. It doesn't happen every time.

 

It seems to be related to some sort of delay in the mail system.

I'm assuming you aren't loading things into email and then pulling them down to the same character in rapid succession.

 

are you quickly transferring large numbers of items through email from one character or another? Is it across servers?

That is to say are you loading 10 or more items into email, switching characters, and downloading those 10 or more items in as rapid succession as you can?

 

are you moving things through email between different accounts/globals that are both logged in on the same time?

 

More information would be good to help try to track down what is goin on.

I move a lot of stuff around, but not usually in rapid succession and I haven't seen this error before.

I'm on Everlasting.

 

I'm mainly dropping inspirations into the mail, and retrieving them as needed later on whatever alt happens to need them. About the only time I send something and then immediately retrieve it on another alt is when I use my farmer to purchase and send a set of IOs to another alt.

 

I also occasionally get a popup telling me I can't mail something because I'm at the limit of 20 messages in my Inbox, when there doesn't appear to be any such limit. I currently have 52 messages in my Inbox, and I haven't had any trouble adding more. But then, randomly, it will tell me I'm at this supposed 20-message limit, and won't let me.

I'm on Torchbearer and I've seen this same issue a few times since friday.

 

I keep one entry in my email, just to reply to and through the weekend I hadn't emailed more than two or three emails at a time and this error would pop up occasionally.

 

I had one email disappear due to this pop up that took 20-30 minutes to re-appear. It only did so when I had swapped characters a couple times and then sent a different email on another character so the next the error message appeared I just swapped characters and sent a different email, then the first one that got the error appeared in my email box.

Same problem today on excelsior Sent 1 enhancement,   seem to go fine  second one get error.   "There are outstanding pending global email transactions. Please wait a minute and try again." waited 5 minute try to send again same message .. check e mail box first enhancemnt not in it log out and back still not around and geting message again trying to send more.
