lucifael
Welcome to the absolute worst build possible. Do you want to test your resistance to torture? Do you want a “challenge”? Do you want to bring your latent self-loathing into the game? Need a new definition of pain? Mind Control/Radiation Emission, two terrible powers that go terrible together. What does it do? Nothing. But it does cost lots and lots of endurance. It is full of anchor powers that you will have to juggle and switch out to keep up with your team as they bulldoze through. Your best powers are single target, low damage, and simply do not work on stronger mobs. You will have large scale, big endurance powers that are on mile-long cooldowns while the exact same functionality exist on totally unrelated power-sets for a fraction of the endurance and less than a tenth of the cooldown. And finally, because the above clearly isn’t enough wrack or ruin… Your capstone ability for Radio Emission, EM Pulse reads: “It will drain the Endurance and HP Regeneration of all affected target…” Guess who is a valid target for this PBAOE? YOU are. That’s right. Get into the middle of the swarming mass and throw down this badboy expecting a nuke only to see your own blue disappear while all the mobs look at you in stark disbelief before taking you apart faster than Kermit in the Bio Lab. Driving your enemy before you and hearing the lamentation of their women might be best, but this here build is definitely worst. Enjoy. |MBD;24218;1620;2160;BASE64;| |G5leEdWbPoBWB7zhrZMmflHLFgpRwxUj9znjailkXYgYI5pb6pcJwLQlZ0pv4lzSPKE| |MXNIOM5YT8tGf6ldV771Pl6q7z69GxH4zQUvAApxRTtpk6eprHRaQrnowjNUu/P/2Nj| |kIhbEIh0WYWVK/sJER9r9pqaXM1kmpiqIiOVGtC9OakFECHyt4o/6dNX9XRrjFcVBZ7| |2JxMRnObpKZ/HcWLKUQQl+Wh2IRKRX9fBM0Z6OWkV/XY/ewFp4/0Tjvdpcdj1BEWtdw| |i/IF9zHnhWSL8/zb3e2aX0NEx/7LE7F7RfP1QvLiExTRYk+JGJrDi+29RQFNNkqiTz0| |O4S2pbznjq5WdX63lSErpABlRXvAHlc3zIebzDm212Fje1XqW/iEBFm86aSsJ4bKi9d| |YbXDfrTWbIHdmillkaXS2zlWpcH2rBlL5FyMlKRpwWkEmmfXc76l+S953NXp2hzYql+| |wUZqN1fjbNWbFVXRpsLzfe3zsYwVNu6Wt6ktfuJ8E5G+U3a8fs+vZHtQMDqj3rlv8TY| |DzWsnc11n6e5fLsMrMr5VgubuFjIJpgKuX0xyXDdrwp+FAbR9M56zwRRw4MHGo0bWrL| |vdp1nUeoz8YyU4tKt0arTnznCD0xlTozPJtG3+gO3hQsoGINHQgGS46MwktOiCGayT0| |qeRaQmOtrj7Jy2xdKrWnFbbnDtRBnxFYijNqjYJZfRBuYj1G572OaVDv0fYQQZeKAoc| |uBBZAFO0q/6fJudEe3euBR4gvk/yA/PokWGv5Jw7sE9Y1Tr9e/fYIWbdBqOVcNfxnSW| |CEHbTVXLihqY0EidkzcL3uWux/HHI6lBcdx/MrVnBV9QMbK83dtQdDm5xNnNoKSbO2m| |cfnnFLcRwDcFWVpiXJTU585WH8O+bJ4qfOxcNcfwVtxBcak84mUOvB/0PkPO5K2IUnH| |498LHygHsQfO8VR3S5QIHIxTkVxeWQgWc7sgQURg5ciq0BRZADBJFRcUcNoV9M6Z7mK| |Vm+Ajx0i4ZMO/1FlDG2AymHLCtAOo+KQML2KIScAm6JP4NT8UwmveBfZON/gQLkU0Jw| |8pavMELxLgZxC0zUunzHGOhgI4VqXaSzokdlfghZ5RVny9Rcv3AbCqx1xFBgA8ATmqx| |ruKxdH5eAS7e4RAZw5pNZmn8dRJIiJ0tsc4HlPL4ACiMXKuIjKfQz1DsUwQWqUfOWcO| |W5BT4IONYjxXrqWeWf1zzoxUoViQPFbQs8FNuhpkpQEyUq5wR3Mig8pcItiZWzpviGR| |8jjToDAhGD+dXp+Goe/Z+T6i2I2igYUICkVhZGUhSKYyZlTXeWcienTsYj2O3OzTg5v| |hvBAEvU1pBiw4b8IlwysmnBwvIORlMtqHFMPMPhrUftfoKtw8r+oCwABxqs21pqAduU| |ucCGohzVv6zUE91KN/16t+tC/6sc+SxBI9cKyy79oJCE5PHmbudVO1RUu+j7BTW3Ah1| |qX6r0zd1AtWcGaNHo8s5mRtenal8+JIaifykseZcgIYxIPw7dYY6kyYONqKLoqQ4urE| |FNBMJZP1vKcIillPEiK/InEaor0WBji4trPXzuwcBMlMCGY+2BjxVMWUZ8mjLVu+DNd| |vbqC+cXnU681bjyATaP2xlXa3/r30+Gjr+dBjDNDokXKKw8YD84iAyQNQzzeKNy3EMX| |psS3gt44vjsF14k5cCTCKghcaQm2WBXyhcQ00RUOTzY0MgrlsODJoYxstrMrvih4Gkh| |aSObGoJdfFPgwD3EYtY0lAZOEl/7oPD0ycBdsAGwLMuaAyIYdx097tuDjNUbyQDetCZ| |PADL/B3rOVfsb14gOvLwI84Pwzji7dv9LzB0bG8jSbroaP8WC3HLcDBL+XVszEpExQe| |A2kCapghVu4e2CM3wERWCf0f+CzrVEJoI82/oyec0oqhWJkmWvwXNa/c2b9OMVZ22Hy| |xNtcMWHv+p1BLcFde4WX9btxl4w7OF1iBtKw4tEMdXV371POpU3lOpTC1PkkvWUQd0A| |cgfyj7qp/tvsIQUSid1zmMC9sfEMZ28j8SEg9QcPBTTWQaGb6sn5TuPWT8GnTbK3KYn| |6AH1/ZvHWOL4WS1bw8lU34pFtPTQuWUdYqcQd519ATfKs60VZgyD7ab5BwrUCo+fZs9| |JmsAHBZjpWcwvyxr| Edited Monday at 06:11 PM by lucifael 1
Uun
While Mind Control is better on dominators than controllers, it's actually one of the higher damage control sets. It struggles with AoE control due to its reliance on sleep and fear, as well as with establishing containment. Radiation Emission is very good set, and if used properly, makes up for some of Mind's shortcomings. I had a lvl 50 Mind/Rad on the live servers from about 2005 on. It's a very viable combination and far from the the worst possible. There are quite a few shortcomings in the build you posted that work against you. An issue across the build is the lack of slotted accuracy in powers slotted as proc bombs. Procs have to hit in order for them to go off. You don't have enough global accuracy in your build to compensate for this. You also have Decimation %BU and Hybrid Support toggled on in Mid's, which falsely inflates your global tohit and accuracy bonuses. Dominate requires accuracy. The Decimation %BU proc is 1 PPM and will almost never fire in a short recharge power like Dominate. There's no point in slotting the Overwhelming Force %KD proc in a hold. 6-slotting Superior Overpowering Presence in Mass Hypnosis is a waste. The power is autohit in PVE and doesn't really need more duration. Put a recharge IO or Call of the Sandman %heal in the base slot and call it a day. Instead of slotting 3 recharge IOs in AM, slot 2 +5 IOs. Total Domination requires accuracy. Note, this power has a 20% accuracy penalty. Terrify needs more accuracy (this power has a 10% accuracy penalty). Swap the Ragnarok dmg piece for the acc/rech. Choking Cloud doesn't require accuracy or recharge. Optimal slotting is 2 or 3 end/hold IOs. Move the Superior Will of the Controller set to Mass Confusion. Lingering Radiation requires accuracy. It's most valuable for its -regen, so i would slot recharge instead of %dmg procs. Drop EM Pulse for Mesmerize. It's useful for setting up containment and will sleep a boss (or AV) in one hit. Note, the sleep is autohit but the damage is not. Enervating Field should be taken much earlier. Recharge IOs in Hasten should be +5. 1 Uuniverse
Psyonico
I haven't looked at the build, but @Uun right. Mind is better on Dom's and there is nothing inherently wrong with /Rad (with the possible exception of the -recovery in EM Pulse). If you are going to keep EM Pulse, I'd suggest a strategy change... It should only be used as a panic button. Again, haven't seen the build, but in general, /Rad wants to build for global recharge to get AM up as much as possible (permanent, preferably). Also, if you slot endmod in it as well, your end issues should get a lot better. What this team needs is more Defenders

I just thought it was the far side of ridiculous that you would have a nuke that hits YOU too. This build has 191% recharge w/o ageless, 261% with. How useful is sleep? Is there some use for it that I am missing? In a group it is just a wild torrent of damage that instantly negates sleep. Solo it can give you a potion break, but you have to do damage to win. Maybe it has value in setting someone aside so you can deal with others, but the various phasing holds do that and don't break no matter what goes off right next to them. I just never considered mesmerize a power with any real use. Edited yesterday at 04:43 AM by lucifael
Riverdusk Posted yesterday at 11:38 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:38 AM /rad is far from "terrible". Illusion/rad for example is a classic and one of the most powerful combos in the game, for forever. Mind on the other hand, can't say I've ever been a fan. And yes, EM pulse I typically skip, along with mutation and fallout. That is actually one of the strengths of radiation is that it is so powerful while only needing 6 powers (and the good ones also come early for the most part). Opens up a lot of builds. Mass Hypnosis is useful in situations where two spawns are close to one another or as a panic button if you accidently aggro a second spawn. It's autohit and doesn't aggro. As stated above, I don't add slots to it. Obviously not that useful in teams where everybody is doing their own thing and not following directions. Mesmerize is more situational, but is useful when facing multiple AVs and you need to take one out of the fight to focus on the other. Sleep ignores the purple triangles and Mesmerize will sleep an AV in one application. Hold doesn't work on AVs when the purple triangles are up. EBs have higher sleep protection and can't be effected in one application (unless you're playing a dominator). Uuniverse

Slot it as an attack. If facing a boss solo, Dominate->Mesmerize means you can have the boss incapacitated while Dominate recharges for the 2nd application. In most content, my mind controllers cycle between Dominate, Mesmerize, and Levitate to have a full ST attack chain though. 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
